If at least on the 50th anniversary they had made the anime about Rikiishi, I would already be satisfied.

If they remade AnJ, I'd want them to go all out with visual style, make it feel like Chiba's iconic art is coming to life, give it a very stylized feel.

I just wish more people knew what Joe was. Because they need to accept whatever there favorite anime or manga is. Joe is better. Because without joe your favorite anime or manga wouldn’t exist. Joe was our tomorrow.

This OP scene is from one of the pachinko games. I personally wouldn't want Ashita no Joe to get a remake since I feel like they would not be able to capture what anj really is and was.

At first I was like "wtf is this megalobox-ass shit" but then the song grew on me, pretty sick theme but doesn't fit the elegance AnJ is supposed to have. Then again, this is for a video game, not an anime, so it makes to go for something epic rather than elegant.

It's a damn shame how much great creativity and art goes into Pachinko games of all things The Macross one has some great animation too

I got into Ashita no Joe through Hajime no Ippo and sort of seeing the two combined is art

if they do a remake it will be amazing, but it's unnecessary, ashita no joe 1 and 2 have one of the best productions

I want a remake. Look how good megalox did. Get a good studio that wants to honor ashita no joe. Add the flare and weight of the punches and even the gloom and dispare. I hope all the voice actors are still around and ready for one more go

The only problem with a remake is the series becoming a little more childish to reach a wider audience like they did with the new HxH or the Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Other than that, a remastered series would be awesome! Just cutting all the repeated shots and enhancing the overall quality of the other scenes

All a good anime adaptation of a manga needs is: >Good art >Good animation >To follow the source material closely If a new AnJ anime were to happen and it met these requirements, welcome it be. To be honest I'd love to see some of the first series' fights reanimated because for the most part they were very static.

Ashita no Joe had a ton of amazing moments, but episode to episode is plagued with the legitimate weaknesses of the era it was made in (awkward voice acting and pacing, too quick of cuts, character designs that looked hella frail and small, etc). would love to see a proper remake just to add a punch to that final moment (and they better damn well use the same song at the end)

I watched like 10 minutes of the first episode. You can tell how aged it is. It’s still visually appealing for media in that era. The only downside is the audio quality for me personally but at the same time what do I expect from an anime thats half a century old. Hopefully it can get picked up again I think it can rekindle that popularity it had back then

I think that if ANJ gets a remake it would ruin the show esence with today's generic vibes. It only fits with old animation, art style and soundtracks and thats the show vibes and the answer of why its so different from all shonens and still works, it is a mature trama with his elegant, hopeful and tomorrow vibes

Definitely cool, but I appreciate the older version for just how insanely raw it was. I'd prefer it doesn't get remastered, since the clean linework and upgraded cinematography and flashiness of the dust clouds, steam, and action lines would make too much visual noise. Just blood and punches, that's all we need.

what about a continuation instead of a remake? lets say joe was in like a coma or was close to death maybe even talked to rikishi for a brief moment remembering all of his battles and fights with him remembering his promise to rikishi of becoming one of the best professional boxers, I was honestly thinking making the bridge gym and yokos gyms become one to maybe exploit joes and miss Yoko unfinished relationship and joe has to become a more tactical/ less of a reckless fighter and more of a refined of the basics and cautious/smarter boxer making his way up to basically become the next rikishi of course the idea sounds half baked but please let me know what you think?

la verdad estaria interesante, pero deberia mantener la escencia de ashita no joe, y tener un estilo propio, por que vamos, es innegable que los animes antiguos que trataban sobre peleas (en general) a veces se veian toscos, y con la animacion de hoy en dia se notaria la fluidez en los combates, pero por mi parte seria solo eso, que se vea fluidez en los combates, como si se verdad se sintiera que 2 hombres subieron al ring a darlo todo y que al final solo uno sera el vencedor, pero que lo demas se mantenga, megalobox hizo lo suyo en si, y esa animacion que rememora el estilo del anime del pasado pero le da la fluidez del anime actual fue una cosa increible, literalmente podria hacer eso con ashita no joe, hacer que mantenga su estilo tirando a lo antiguo, pero que se vea como si todo estuviera animado y no que te pusieran imagenes estaticas con apenas un movimiento de camara para decir "mira, movimiento, esta animado"
