These lyrics are powerful. Once at school, some shaved ice truck came. I placed my backpack down where I was standing, and I knew nobody would care if I just left for a second to check the prices. So as I'm looking at prices and seeing which I wanted to purchase, I hear a boy say "Wow, she has an ass..". Kind of sad that my mother had literally taught me things like "don't sit by the window on the bus" or "Don't ever go out alone" when I was like 6, I remember her forcing these rules inside my head with graphic descriptions of rape and harassment. It was traumatizing to have yourself be told that if you walk into a street where there are no people you might get raped as a kindergartener. I became sacred of my own father and brothers and I still am. I know what she did was to protect me but this has led to my fear of anything affectionate coming from anyone, whether it's sexual or not. It's sad that I lost my childhood worrying what the next man on the bus would do or what my gym teacher will do to me when I'm all alone I remember a few months ago I had skipped school and was on a bus, I was sitting by the window since I thought nothing would happen. A guy came and sat beside me. He looked normal and even kind of nice. Then slowly he started putting his hand on my right knee. I was weirded out but thought nothing of it since it could've been a mistake. Then he started inching his hand closer to my you know and I still thought nothing of it. I was and still am an anti-social child and had no confidence to tell him to stop. And so I sat there for an half-hour just feeling his hand on my thigh. I was very uncomfortable, obviously because he kept rubbing on my thigh. But thankfully the bus stopped before he could go further. I decided not to go home and go on a more crowded bus since he seemed to be following me. Luckily he left me alone. The saddest part about it was I thought this was normal. I don't know if something happened to me as a child (I don't remember my childhood) that made me think a grown as stranger rubbing on my thigh dangerously close to my woman hood was normal. I found out a week later that he had harassed me and I was so shocked. I thought harassmet was when someone started like assaulting the person. I wonder what would've happened if I led this man to my apartment building which is pretty easy to get into without a key

apparently we're sharing stories here so, here's mine. i'm a 13 year old female born, non-binary person. i live in a pretty bad neighborhood. near where i live, is a seven-eleven, on a street corner. across from that on one side, is a liquor store, and on the other side, is a bar. so, one day, me and my best friend, we'll call her sarah, were walking to seven eleven to buy some snacks and coffee, to pull an all-nighter since we had a bunch of homework. so, we get to seven-eleven, and i can immediately smell some sort of alcohol outside. there's about 5 middle-aged men, all outside. all drunk as sh*t. i decide, it's fine, i've been here a million times before, and nothing real bad has ever happened. just some comments, english and spanish as where i live there's a lot of people who speak spanish and porteugese, luckily i know spanish. so, in previous experiences, there were comments, and sometimes i would get brushed against on "accident" or a few times i've had my a*s touched or my bo*bs groped which was "just an accident" which i would always just go home immediately. so, this one time, with sarah, we go inside, and i notice a guy in a green shirt following us around the store. it's a pretty small store, maybe 4 or 5 small isles. we walk to the back, grab 2 iced coffee's and i again see the guy around the corner. i have very good eye-sight, and she doesn't. i just pay attention to detail more, and can listen to multiple conversations at once (very bad adhd). so, we get the coffee's and i hear the guy say something. "ven aqui, ninas" (come here little girls) and i panic. she doesn't speak spanish, so i just cough slightly. "c'mon! let's go look at some snacks!" i say, and we walk to the snack area. we grab some snacks and then go to the checkout, and he's right behind us at this point. we hold a conversation, as he starts to touch my shoulder and back. i try not to make a big deal, and just keep talking with her, because i don't want to freak her out. he grabbed my *ss, and i flinched slightly, and he says "sigueme" which means 'follow me'. i just ignore it, and we get up to the checkout. so we pay for our things, and quickly start walking home. i notice, i dropped my wallet in the store. so we walk back, and i grab my wallet, and we go back home. but this time, i've bent over, and it's caused him to idk want to touch me more, because i was wearing a skirt. so we start walking back home again, but this time he's following us. so i start to talk and make jokes with sarah, to make sure he knows we're not scared, though she still doens't know what's going on. so we're laughing, and eventually, we make it to my house. i notice he's still following so i turn down the road and keep walking, telling sarah 'i wanna walk for a while'. she agrees, and we keep walking, meanwhile, i text my dad. *hey dad, somebody's following us, we need help. just turned onto belmont.* (street name). so he runs out and yells at the dude, who is clearly really drunk. we run inside and i explain everything to sarah who starts crying, apologizing for not noticing it was happening. we end up having dinner and i've never told anyone since then. this was about a year ago, when i was barely 12, maybe still 11.

At my old apartment complex, they hired security to scare off lurkers. One late night I get home and the security guard approaches me, questions me, and I think, "alright, standard stuff, just wants to make sure I'm not lurking." At this point I've confirmed I'm a resident, but he starts shifting the conversation to "are you single?" and "do you live alone?" and "can I come over?" He started pressing me for my number and I realized I couldn't give him a fake one because he was standing right there and he wanted to confirm I was actually giving him something. I went back to bed and held a knife under my pillow, just thinking because I couldn't sleep, scared of the possibility that he would waltz right into my place and do something really scary. As a guy it was this one experience that really put it into perspective for me how awful women are treated. Thankfully this was the scariest situation I've been in and it never really amounted to anything in the end, but it really takes tough skin and incredible mental strength to deal with this every single day of your life.

After that I refused to talk to him, he would show up at my first job and wait for me outside, send me letters and stalked me on social media. It truly is terrifying living in the kind of the world we live in today being a teenage girl. I am lucky I live in a safe area, but anything can happen anywhere. I woke up from my sleep cause it seemed like my brain wanted to uncover a vague memory of sexual harrassment i had from 4 years ago. Then i open youtube and find this first thing on my recommendation. The universe is on to me.

As a male, I was taught to respect women & to ask for consent by my mother. However I went to a christan school until I was in 4th grade, at this school boys were taught to NOT listen to consent. I honestly relate to this song a lot. In middle school, this boy had a crush on me and I knew from my gut that he was not a good person. I was right. He found out where my grandma lives, and I felt uncomfortable, so I told the teacher in private. My toxic best friend (we are no longer friends, thank god) thought I was being dramatic and the teacher thought it was cute. All throughout middle school, he harassed me, stalked me, and even isolated me from the students. Once I got into high school, he somehow got ahold of pictures that were in my Snapchat account (and not from my phone camera roll), and my phone number. He threatened to come to my house and confront me because I didn’t want to accept his apology for what he did in middle school. I still get nightmares from what happened. I just hope I never see him again and I never ever interact with him again. Edit: Thank you guys for the support I really mean that 😊 I’m doing ok now. This happened a few years ago so I’ve moved on for the most part. I just wanted to point out that I decided to reveal something more personal for the first time because this song related to me in that way. Since everyone is sharing their personal stories and being extremely accepting I was in love with a boy for 2 years, although he never felt the same way back. He manipulated me into feeling this way towards him and he was extremely controlling. One time I was at his house and he began to touch me. I began to feel extremely uncomfortable and violated. I pushed his hands off of me and clearly told him to stop. But he didn't stop he kept going. I felt like I had no power, and he had complete control over me. That day he sexually assaulted me. He made me think that it was normal, and that I did consent. Because of how much I liked him I brushed it over and pretended it was okay A few months later I was at a party in which I was very drunk. I had nowhere to sleep so I slept with him in his tent. I passed out of consciousness while I was with him. When I woke back up he was raping me. I was so scared and confused. I didn't know why he was doing it. Because of extreme trauma and dissociation tendencies I blocked this out of my mind. I didn't remember until 6 months later. Remembering was the hardest thing of my life. I blamed myself for months, tried to justify what he did and that he did because he liked me. At the time of remembering I was still friends with him and currently having sex at the time. As a form of self harm I continued to have sex with him even knowing what he had done to me in the past. One day I came to the realization that is was rape, and that it wasn't okay. I reported him to the police and my school as I go to the same school as him. The police told me "because I didn't make it clear at any point that I didn't want to have sex, it wasn't rape". I was unconscious, how could I say no. To this day, he has not received any legal consequences. I still have to go to school and attend classes with him in it. Everyday I am battling the pain I experience being near him.

She walked me the backyard so I can enter from there but she wouldn't leave until she saw me go inside. While I was walking I heard someone call out for me being 9, I stopped and didn't think much of it. A man way older than me came behind and held my arms and I could get out of his grip. I heard a belt being undone but my cousin jumped in and I was able to run away. Apparently it was my fault. I was wearing a dress, at night. I was leading him on, that's what my aunt told me. Girls, use your phone to get out of danger! When I was around 9 years old, my mom dropped me off to my grandma around 10 pm. She looked after me untill I got inside the building and she drove off. Behind me, someone was pulling the door. I could see a tall silhouette trough the mozaic window and I thought it was my father, so I got back and opened the door. It was not him. I felt a weird feeling and i was thinking if I should go in the elevator with this man or take the stairs. It was a 10th floor building and grandma lives at 7th. We got in, he closed the doors and pressed the second floor button. When we got there, I was trying to open the doors to help him get out and he closed it back. He asked me if i can do him a favor. I was terrified, but i felt like I had no choice and said yes. He looked very nervous and shaky and he asked me to close my eyes. In that moment I started crying and yelling , and he got out. I run in the apartament shaking and called my parents who came back and looked for him. They could not find him. Im 23 now and still have some nights when I can't sleep cause Im thinking about that night... BE SAFE GIRLS. dont be afraid to scream and kick! (Sorry for bad grammar, I'm french) Iam really sorry for all the people that got sexually harassed. I give all my support and want you to know that you are not alone to face theses situations. I was a witness of one of them. My sister was 15. I was 11 at the time, and my family always said that I was very mature for my age. I knew about sexual harassments and what act were considered one of them. My family were on a vacation to Quebec, and we were downtown walking to a restaurant. There was alot of people and the sidewalks were narrow. My sister and my parents we're walking in front talking while I was following them from behind. Then I noticed an old man walking behind me STARRING at my sister's "curves". She was wearing a skirt that stopped at her knees and he was slowly tilting his head forward to "see more". I wanted to STRANGLE him. He looked like he was having a good time. I didn't know exactly what to do, because screaming at him would've attracted everyone's attention and made the situation worse. Again, I was 11. So I decided to stare at him directly at his eyes with a deathly stare without looking away a second. Seconds later, when his eyes met mines, he jumped a little, and then he looked at me troubled. After he froze, and rolled his eyes. Then we arrived, so he continued his way. I told my mom everything right after we went in. My sister was frustrated that he starred at her like that, but she was glad that I had the courage to scare him away.
