it is allways an inspiration to see you working in such a small workshop. In contrast to the huge hangars every RU-vidr from Amerika seems to have. Keep it simple and clear and concentrate to the essential!

Impressed how your datum for the Bessey clamp rack was the bottom of the jamb brackets and not the shelf - supreme confidence that the quickly made brackets were mill’ perfect. Pure class!

Remember nothing in a shop is permanent. When you think its finally finished, a new process=tools come-along. Semi-permanent is the key. BTW I love the double stacking. Cheers from across the pond!

It is a very neat solution. I do like the peanuts. Not having a peanut set, I'd consider using a long bitholder for those screws into the brickwork- you can get straight magnetic bitholders up to 18 inches long... about 6 pounds on amazon for 12 inches. A hex masonry bit in the long bitholder will do the predrilling/marking. Alternatively, there are very long sds-plus bits available. And yes, this being a Peter Millard video, it does look made to measure - as always.

Filled with golden nuggets, this one :D "Grown organic", "With a blunt drill bit. Well it is now" LOL! Oh and the "Fan in a can" I have one of those things myself, and I call it my "Power to Noise Converter". Looking forward to seeing what unit you go for next. I am currently using the Power to Noise Converter and a regular indoor dust filter for the fine dust (cheapest and simplest I could find). Cheers.

Not my finest purchase - though I've made worse, tbh! 🤷‍♂️ Still on the fence about which other one to go for - they all seem very similar in terms of performance, so I'll probably just wait and see if there's a deal going anywhere! 👍

Hi Peter, that electric cable dangling down the wall would send me more round the twist than I am already. I do like the 10 minute logo, it looks as if it just belongs there, good control of your clams, mine are all over the shop.

Those cables are all over John - they link back to my vac, so anything plugged into one of those trailing sockets triggers the vac. 👍

Looking good. No chance of a lick of white paint on the plywood brackets? That’ll make the clamps “pop” on that lovely white wall………… Now that has made me wonder whether I need my roll around clamp rack and instead make some brackets and re-purpose the rack as a roll around tool carrier with systainer storage……. You’re certainly right about the cost of reasonable quality plywood. And have you seen the price of OSB? Now more expensive more than its equivalent in plywood! Apparently, a developer friend told me, it’s because the specification for hoarding or whatever says OSB and so, OSB it is. Almost every workshop will have it’s own clamp storage solution and people can take whatever they can from your solution. My bugbear is clamps just hanging (as your F clamps) because, I know they will shake themselves off the shelf. That’s why mine are fitted into the keyhole type of hole in a shelf. And, because I have space, my racks all tilt back 5 degrees. Just my foible about anything falling off shelves

Peter,. I like the use of the peanut connectors which make for a clean tight joint. I have the same SDS drill which lives under the bench most of the time and comes out now and then for fitting rawlplugs into our two feet thick stone walls!

Always nice to see a cleanup job :). Personally, if I knew a wall like that was going to be used to hang and store a lot of different things, i.e. needing a lot of drilling and screwing, I would probably first install a large wooden (spruce/pine) board on it (maybe something like 20 mm or more thick). Then all the rack, hook, etc. installs would be simple screwings and no need to hammer drill for each one. The wood might even make it a bit more pleasant to look at. But I see that your wall has some obstructions on it (electrical wiring and some pipes), so, dunno.

remember when i started working as an apprentice at the cabinet shop i work at now, on of the first things i did there was build a new clamp-hanging rack :D lets just say the old "system" wasnt really up to par :P

Cheap SDS drills have their place, good for light chiselling etc but I wouldn't use them for putting plugs in on a job, (fine for a workshop) they bounce too much and leave a nasty mess around the hole. Just my little tip.

I use them when I need to, but most of the Victorian houses I worked in you’d take the whole wall down if you went near them with an SDS. That’s my little tip. 👍

I’ve had the science of it explained to be by the guy that invented it, and I still don’t fully get it. But it works, and I can accept that. 👍

Certainly tidied up the clamp situation, though I think you may run into a " dang, knocked those off the wall while grabbing the ones stuffed into the middle" situation. Then again, you may get yours out and ready doing glue ups rather than my method of waiting until the glue is applied and then rushing to get clamps. I'm working on that ;-)

Thanks! Not 'in real life', but I did demonstrate it in the original peanut jig video. In reality though most of the walls I drill into are far too uneven to make it practical. 👍

Why don't you break the wall down between your two work spaces. You will get much better organization and space. Your design is great, I would rather built a French cleat wall to reduse the amount of holes in the wall

Honestly, all the info you need is in the other videos I’ve done in the peanut system and jigs. From memory they take a 30mm guide bush. 👍

I bet you wish you had the time to do that 20 years ago 😂 What's your preference for building cabinets, the peanut connector or the domino? Great vid on the domino jig you made. Going to purchase the plans unless you manage to get them cnc soon as I would buy the jig.

You bet! 😂 I tend to default to the Domino just because I've been using it for so long I don't have to think about it, but all connectors have their places. And thanks - the flat-pack jig has hit a few snags in production (my CNC guy has gone awol) so it'll be a little while longer before my jig is available. 👍

Hi Peter, you probably won’t see this being such an old video but I’m trying to buy some of the smaller Bessey DuoKlamps that you have in this video but can’t find them online anywhere, only the bigger versions, do you know if they are still sold? Cheers, Dave.

Old vid so no idea bout the clamps tbh. They did two series of duoklamp, the smaller ones with 65mm throat and the bigger ones with 85mm. Haven’t bought any since this vid tbh, so don’t know the current state of play. 🤷‍♂️👍

As a matter of interest, did you ever consider getting permission to remove that dividing wall [safely etc] and do you think it would have improved anything? I can see the extra wall space is useful, but it would have been my 1st instict to open up the floorspace. Nice neat, tidy job & result btw.

Cheers Keith. No, there are 3 floors above that are being held up by that wall, and others, so no chance of removal without a steel about the same size as the wall. 🤷‍♂️👍

Kapex of a certain age had a recall on them, it's been quite widely discussed. Mine went away 3 weeks ago, for a "2-week turnaround" repair and remedial work. 🤷‍♂️

What's happening to your thumbnails? Today channelling Trump hugging a flag. The jig "their really out there" UFO stare. The window "time to visit the proctologist". They add an element of visual entertainment in the words of Flanders and Swan "here lives someone exciting to know". Cheers. Thanks Norman! There’s been a safety recall on earlier Kapex models - even one as old as mine! It was collected a few weeks back, and fingers crossed it’ll be back soon! 👍👍
