For all the youngsters….this bass line originated in the 80s from the theme song to the movie, Beverly Hills Cop. The song was Axel F. Check it out. Axel F "Axel F" is an electronic instrumental by German musician Harold Faltermeyer. It served as the theme for the 1984 film Beverly Hills Cop, starring Eddie Murphy, and became an international number one hit in 1985

The song is NOT crazy Frog, its Faltemeyers Axel F, theme song for Axel Foley, main character in Beverly Hills cop. The Crazy Frog is the mascot of Jamba, a paid subscription service for bag/stupid ringtone versions of popular songs.

What I like about Charles is that un like most other bass youtubers, he adds other instruments in the background (like the hard brass in this case) which makes the Bass part sound even better. Nice Job on this one Charles!

Ok, I know I've lived under a big stone for ages, yay I know. Never heard Beverly Hills Cup theme song described as "Axel F", we teens in the 80ies called it "Axel Foley", just as the main charater. And definitely not heard of "Crazy Frog" before (OK, I'll return to my Gen. X cave again) Just wanna say THANKS to Monsieur Berthoud for all his both funny and highly skillfull iminations on different bass grips. I jumped on the bandwagon here the day of the upload of the entire universe's hardest song: "Barbie Girl". By then it got my daughter when she was 3-4 years old, now double age and just begun bass play. Keep 'em coming!

I've been watching/ listening to the fretless bass performances by Charles for quite awhile. I used to be able to detect slight variations in pitch. Now I can't detect any at all even in rapid parts. Quite astounding.
