Request: Please draw cat breeds into humans! I bet it would look good in your style!😀👍✨💖💖💞 Edit: yo I checked this right when I woke up and OML 4.1k LIKES😱 thank u guys! I’m glad you like my idea :)
Honestly for me,out of all 3,Miguel is the scariest one. Like jfc, imagine that kid ruthlessly chasing you down a dark alleyway during Dia de los Muertos? Chills, literal chills.
3:46 no girl, guitar strings are like literally the worst kind of weapons. Any of you fellow guitarist out there would know because when you’re changing the strings on a guitar if you don’t loosen the pegs then it will snap at you and it will scar you and it hurts so bad.
Especially if it's a damn steel string. If it's a classical guitar and it's one of the plastic strings that snaps, I don't think it would be as bad, but the thinnest steel string- the high E- would be a FUCKING GARROTE.
I was bout to come down here and say this 😭😭 I just got my first guitar a while ago and that was definitely emphasized to me upon purchasing it lmao. Absolutely a little terrified of those things
I didn't cry during the Book of Life movie, but when Miguel sings to his great grandma at the end I always bawl my eyes out. Both movies are amazing though! ^^
Wow these are actually kinda creepy, also can you draw more cartoon characters into horror characters? Maybe you can do characters from the amazing world of gumball, tangled, or one of my favorite childhood cartoons adventure time
I've just come out of the closet as pansexual to my parents and this is the perfect treat to celebrate this glorious day 🌸🌸🌸🎨🎨🎨 Good job! Would love to see more of these!
for this version of coco, I can imagine that Miguel doesn't kill the living, but he kills the dead. in the movie, Miguel is told about the "final death" so he destroys the memories and shrines of other peoples dead ones so that they'll die and the guitar string isn't his way of killing but like a key to the afterlife, by killing himself with it and watching them die and then acting all sweet and innocent maybe even making up stories telling how he killed himself bc of abusive family members to get blessings from others to get back to the real world I also think it be interesting if he only killed musicians to receive revenge and closure since he was never allowed to play music
That feels like a corruption arc fully in the spirit of the movie. Him ending up just as manipulative in his way as the villain, and similarly destroying peoples memories and making them trust him, just on a wider scale. Bravo.
Names for these movies Luca: “Aquatic Rising” Coco: “Song of Skulls” Beauty and the beast: “Heart of The Monster” Edit: 1k likes, holy shit. Thanks lol
The cartoon gets a semi pass because it actually looked good, but the live action is ugly. They didn’t even sacrifice historical accuracy for beauty (not that that’s a good excuse)
tbh i can imagine a horror animation in which lavendertowne's version of miguel is like chasing or m*rdering someone and the poco loco song is playing in the background
As a Mexican person, I feel like Coco is a better representation of The Day of The Dead. It’s as close as it gets for a Pixar movie but The Book of Life is still good. I recommend watching both!😊👍🏻
You can see the prince in the beauty and the beast was checking his new body, like he’s genuinely sadly surprised by his body and is exploring it with his hands
Honestly the Coco design lowkey reminds me of like a ghost story? Like his guitar was smashed and he went missing and now his vengeful ghost haunts the streets luring kids and such away with the sounds of a guitar. He’s appeased by music because while he never was able to pursue it he still enjoys it and finds beauty in it. La Llorona vibes in that both are stories that keep kids from running and exploring at night.
I see a lot of people comparing Coco and The Book of Life in the comments, and it upsets me, since day of the dead movies are so rare and I don't see anyone comparing christmas or halloween movies the same way. It's the double standards, man.
Right? Like you don't see people acuse different Christmas movies of ripping each other off, but when it comes to Day of the Dead movies I guess we can only have one or something -_-
I love the way these characters were approached! Personally, the way I would've approached Miguel would be to make him a victim that was dragged down to the land of the dead and now hunts for other children to drag down with him as revenge.
The scary yet innocent Luca holding ice cream reminds me of a design theme of mine: many of my characters, who are legitimately scary/ugly, are good at heart. One is a mock Beauty and the Beast. The beast princess is born monstrous, has a giant rat-like body, four thumbs, and a goatish skull for a face.
I remember rewatching 'the book of life' at least once a month as a kid. It is just such a great movie and I'm really happy that you mentioned it, because it really deserves more attention than it has, thank you! If you are reading this and have not watched it, please do. It's really underrated and the animation is fantastic. So if you have time please check it out, have a nice day!
Alternative Luca plot line: mans looks like Moreau from resident evil 8 and doesn’t leave the water because everyone’s afraid of him. He’s immortal and lives his life in misery and loneliness.
Headcanon: miguel comes from a long line of serial killers, and its a personal tradition as to keep up the infamous legend their ancestors started on dia de los muertos to commemorate them.
The coco drawing (Miguel) is so good and terrifying at the same time, in Mexico we call something calaca or death for others hehe and the way he holds the rope reminds me of the line of life and if he wants he can cut it.
“Adorable Disney characters” Most of the characters: from pixar (Also, simple guide to know if a film is from each: when it’s from Pixar, Disney just slaps their logo on there alongside pixar’s like a kid who didn’t do their project and wants to put their name on your work. When it’s from Disney the only logo there is theirs)
You did not just do concept art for the live-action adaptation of Luca. Also, thanks for click-baiting me thinking you’ll be doing Riley from Inside Out.
Reccomendation / request. Kubo or coraline, their claymation designs would be cool and a sort of "bad end" design woyld be interesting IMO. Their storys have a lot of ways they could fall through if the narative was different. And id just like to see them in your artstyle. (Idk if you did coraline already tho)
I haven’t really heard of anyone else talk about Kubo but it’s so good I kinda hope she does it bc he and Coraline both sorta have a doll/figurine centered story
@@patriciathefrg8878 true but Disney has a huge younger audience and i think it's in best interest of Disney to be as child friendly as possible so thay can make more profit of there projects
That Beauty and the beast drawing was amazing!! I love the way he checks out his eye seeing that it’s been altered and has that started look. It’s crazy how you can make so many emotions with one eye!!
plsss - omg, as a 3+ year sub, I'm loving all of the old stuff she's bringing back!!! first old character designs and now cute -> creepy, im literally dying rn.
as a hispanic person, book of life is actually an incredible form of representation, and is overall extremely cool while also being informative. the art style is sick too :D
Could you do a by the book on maximum ride? If you do, just read the first three books, (the rest weren’t ever supposed to be published. I was so disappointed when I saw the movie lol
