I feel like death couldnt actually be charged with anything due to puss being wanted. This meant that he's no longer protected by the law, at least in the old west. Wanted dead or alive implies you're allowed to kill him to bring him in, and any stalking charge is just an attempt to bring him in. I dont think Death broke any laws actually.

The Midas touch shouldn't be consider a death as the effect is reversible. Just put the victim in a running stream and boom the person that got turned to gold is back to normal. Also Big Jack Horner probably stole all those magical artifact as their is no way he legally got his hand on all those magical artifact. Excalibur is fine as it's just left in the middle of no wear where anyone who can pull it can own it, but the rest he has to have taken them illegally as the Trident clearly belong to Poseidon/Neptune who kept the weapon close to them due to how powerful it is. I would argue that having a bear jump at him is in fact a dangerous situation, and being in the middle of a fire fight with multiple people would contribute to Jack not being able to safely run over the the Baker to save her, especially if he wasn't paying attention and that Bear had landed on him if he tried to run over to her. Death isn't a bounty hunter though, he was just using the poster as an excuse to scare Puss

The defense brings up a very valid point your honor, the individual known as "Death" is most certainly; badass as fuck, therefore I believe that we should aquit him of all charges on these grounds.

Firstly I completely agree with you in that Death is not guilty of any crimes, additionally saying he is going beyond his responsibility as Death in hunting Puss in Boots is made under the assumption that he is not at that time also considered a bounty hunter as people may have more than one occupation. However the reason Jack Horner received the assault charge during the theft is because attacking with a deadly weapon in any state is only justified with the fear of the infliction of serious bodily injury or death to yourself or another person because they were fleeing they did not meet the conditions to still be considered assailants.

I feel like we'd get some interesting content if Nux, the guy who made the video and maybe someone else were to actively argue what sorts of sentences these villains would get.

The only thing you can charge Death with is the abuse of power. Since he is literally Death, murder doesn't count, and inflicting fear in others is mostly unintentional.

Death is a villain and you can't change my mind. I love him as a character, but going out of your way to murder a random guy that you personally dislike isn't "doing your job." His job isn't to decide how people choose to live their lives while they're alive. He's just an asshole. Only stopped chasing puss because it wasn't fun to him anymore

You can't give sentence to Death considering he's literal inbodiment of death so death will literally laugh at some mortal trying to sentence him. But even more do Death is doing his job regardless cuz Puss is wanted death or alive so you technically can't even touch death for playing by the rules.

The first scene with puss, Puss instigated the altercation by drawing his weapon and death disarmed him, which puss rearmed himself and attacked multiple times Puss should get assault, assault with a deadly weapon, evasion of law enforcement, I think a charge for using his weapon while intoxicated (we see him drunk off of milk later in the movie when he dies once)

The "make my day" law does not allow you to kill an individual who is unarmed and leaving your property. Or especially, you cannot kill them while their back is turned or if they possess no life threatening weapon or intent. This law doesn't cover places of business either. If you shot a thief in your shop, you can be prosecuted.

Actually, "Wanted: Dead or Alive" is a misleading term. To my understanding, since this was a duel, Puss was neither resisting Death (as they agreed upon a battle) nor fleeing, meaning that given just how much bigger and more skilled Death is, he could've brought down Puss without causing bodily harm and turned him into the authorities. However, since his intention was to kill Puss with not a care in the world about the actual bounty, this is just a straight up murder attempt. The sentence should've been heavier, Puss was neither endangering Death's life, resisting an arrest (none was being made), nor fleeing.

my only thought here is that puss had a wanted dead or alive poster meaning lots of stuff against him isn't a crime...

Yes kidnapping an adult is roughly a six year year charge, but that's assuming you don't do anything else. If someone wants out of your car, and you tell them no and lock the doors for a few minutes, that's kidnapping. It's usually accompanied by other charges, like assault, battery, and false imprisonment
