Hello everybody I rarely use this youtube account for anything, so I was pretty shocked to see this video has gotten over 5k views. This was primarily made for the F&H discord server, but I'm glad it found its way here on youtube. This might disappoint some people, but the voices you hear in the video are not mine. I used Elevenlabs to make the voice lines. This is something I should've stated in the title or description before releasing the video. It was not my intention to take credit for the voices. Mikee W. Goodman is the voice of the Mayor/Gentleman. You might know him from Disco Elysium. The great Michael Caine voices the butler/Jeeves. You know him from The Dark Knight trilogy. I will probably not make another one of these videos again. Every line of dialogue took me about 15-30 minutes of editing and splicing to make it sound somewhat realistic. I'm still not too satisfied with the results. I think real voice acting will always be better than what an AI can produce. There's also a question of ethics and morals when using AI.
ethics and morals? goodness, i didnt know AI voices were on par with like...killing or something....I think they are ok for things like this, where you may NEVER get it, and hiring someone may cost TONS, especially when someone can fit it so well, i have a voice actor for my stuff, but i kind of want an AI voice for a couple of other things, but my main stuff needs to have emotion and rythm to them, which AI cant do, so on simple stuff, yea, its great
Maybe some characters work better sounding a bit weird, like the pocketcat. I know he is a gentleman, but It could be funny. That said, I still think this is a great video, even if you don't think that yourself. Thank you, and I hope that in the case you decide to do this again, you can make it all the good you wanted It to be. Have a nice day
Imagine if in the third game, after hours upon hours of reading text, the final boss Le'garde's last two or three lines are suddenly voice acted. My neck hairs would pop right out.
Technically speaking, if done right, that would flex his powers even further. The man is so powerful, he goes beyond the boundary and talks, not to the "silent" characters, but audibly talks directly to you.
A great performance. It would add quite the amount of data to the Game if it were to be fully voice, taking into consideration how text heavy the Game is. Even as a sample, it leaves a great impression of what could a Fear and Hunger VA would be like.
the game isn't really that text heavy when it comes to dialogue (minus party talk) , only a few cutscenes and a few talk able enemies. Pocket cat alone would take most the voice acting lul
Recall the theory behind Henryk's moonscorched form; he views himself as this sophisticated gentleman when he is just like the rest of the savages. Take, for instance, what he is eating on the table. It's human organs. Oh so sophisticatedly with a spoon and fork no less. His capacity for more 'complex' speech than the other contestants gives his way of thinking away and is quite amusing to watch.
These lines are a little flat, but yeah, even this would of made tech geeks cream their pants ten years ago. From text to speech, to voices than are scarily realistic. I really wonder how the state of ai will be in 10 years. Will it have continued to progress at its current pace, or will governments clamp down on it to try and curb potential dangers?
@@WhatIsLove170Anyone scared of big, evil technology should just go live with the Amish community. You really think the government wouldn’t try to use it to their advantage? Lol.
I enjoyed this very much. Voice AI has come very far. Ironically enough, I think the voices sound a bit TO human. The voices sound way to casual and regular to match the monsters. Maybe if they sounded it bit more grotesque? or stilted? I'm not sure. This is probably why real voice actors are so important to this process.
One of the things I like about this game is not every local is a generic enemy that has kill on their mind. They are still people and some still show some form of cooperation with you. Even the moonscorched ghouls can be talked down from fighting as Karen and have them pretty much say “Alright I’ll give you a breather”. Makes all these enemies feel like they were somebody before.
Great performance!! If the game had voice acting, I think it would add even more tension to the moonscorch form fights, because even if it's only screams and sounds, the player would be able to recognize and hear hints of the character they'd met before in their voice.
Fantastic work. You might not be fully satisfied, but the effort truely shows, and even slight gain shifts in the mayor's voice make it so much more alive. Feels like a fan-dub isn't too far-fetched
Holy fucking SHIT this is good stuff, as an aspiring voice actress myself this is great inspiration for my (hopefully) future career!!!! Hope to see more voicework from you!
I was thinking about what it would be like earlier this week, thought it was such a cool idea that someone should start a fan project!!! But also there's so many lines of dialogue it would take so long to implement them as far as rpgmaker programming goes sigh. Nonetheless, this is absolutely stunning. Professional level work. Thanks for giving us a more emotional look into this world.
Voice acting in any of the fear and hunger games would make the game so much more atmospheric, the good and especially the bad kind, which is exactly why it would be so perfect.
If Fear & Hunger 2: Termina has a voice acting: Matthew Mercer as Levi Faye Mata as Marina Yuri Lowenthal as Daan Cristina Vee as Abella Keith Silverstein as O'saa Erica Mendez as Olivia Johnny Yong Bosch as Marcoh Erika Harlacher as Karin Steve Blum as Henryk Xanthe Huynh as Samarie Edward Bosco as Tanaka Michael Sinterniklaas as Pav Troy Baker as August Grant George as Caligura
This is wildly impressive. I thought before about how voice overs would effect the game and maybe cheapen the effect it can have, but this proves to me otherwise.
I would be so much more interested in the game than I already am if they had voice work like this. Really pulled me into the scene. Thank you for this.
I decided to kill gentleman for some reason and now I am so sorry. I wasn't that sorry even when I gave the girl to pocketcat. The second part made me mild.
I still agree with people on the take of text being more fitting to the games mood, but this was amazing and I totally support adding it I just want the feature to be toggle-able
Awesome video. Ever since I played F&H 1 I had the same thought. What an awesome game to have VA. I loved it so much I would just do it for free if the devs asked me. Such good dialogues and character arcs. 10/10
That would be cool they would can do many many cruel and scary thing. Like in terminal we have Olivia who sweet we can heard her sweet voice and imagine we heard she scream in pain or something like that it could broke player hard and fit in fear and hunger. And even use voice as joke or in funny way that contrast with dark game also interesting too, make player love in character more.
i think that the moonscorched who have three mouthes should fragment their speech into 3 personalities (kinda like the Master from Fallout) but it's just a silly idea!
Imo the voicelines need to be slower. The entire game is pretty slow so having characters talk at a reasonable and clear tone feels a bit too normal. But on its own its great voice acting and sound mixing
