Plenty of wars in the period; such a war would definitely improve the genre. Watchin mad beats drop, reaction duets posting like somebody just dropped the mic. Fellas coming off the War of Spanish Succession like 😱😱😱😱
Fun fact: in old Nordic myth and culture there's this thing called a Flyting, and in essence - it was a lyrical/verbal standoff, often without beat, observed by a crowd of onlookers. Vikings had rap battles

Well, it's one way to handle conflits. And probably much older and universal than we realize. Also vikings were essentially pirates, so, sea bandits, so it makes even more sense somehow. Some medieval tavern songs from the feudal era were unironically G stuff, as well. You can find some exemples on youtube.
Oh we have this in Arabic too, poets usually had their standoffs and rap battles lol. one of the best rivalries was between Jarir and farazdak these two kept going at each other with their diss tracks for 45 years.
Wu-Tang Clan did, with violinist Miri Ben-Ari, on their album Wu-Tang Forever (1997); the song Reunited features her work, the song Triumph has prominent string instrumentation also. The intro to Maestro Fresh-Wes' song Drop the Needle is Beethoven's Symphony #5, from Wes' album Symphony in Effect.
I was looking for a way to show my students the artistry and value of the new mixes in modern hip hop rhythms and was worried about the lyrics but you literally saved me there!! This is art :)
A few years ago I saw the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra play Baby Got Back while Sir Mixalot performed the song. It was so bizarre and fun and unexpected.
I have to admire his dedication. He didn't get just one outfit. He put on a whole ass play with these costumes and didn't say a single word. Bravo, good sir. Bravo.

Classical hip hop should definitely exist. I’d vote for it. How is it not a genre?!? It’s so awesome! The video, campy costumes and powdered wigs cracked me up. 😅
I'd say there are some that'd fit this category for the instruments 🤣🤣 Mike Jones - Still Tippin Criminal Mafia - Eyebrows Down Dr Dre - Forgot About Dre DJ Sound - Dead In His Tracks I can think of maaany many more 🤣🤣
There are a bunch of drill stuff that samples classcal musik. I think the reason people dont produce these kinds of tracks are because 1, a lot of beat "producers" dont understand classical music theory enough to make original classical beats and 2 it just feels lame to just take a classical piece and slap on a trap beat
Chino XL wordsmith has a taste of what you’re looking for. But honestly needs to be a thing overall and not niche tracks an artist will make once in a blue moon.
I'm 75. I love my music including classical, but what you have done are no words for it...I really tried not to laugh but to my dismay, a giggle slipped out followed by lmao. Well done, young man, well done.😊
Right it’s almost as if people aren’t listening to the actual music just the words. Jay Z & Kanye both have beautiful orchestral compositions in many of their songs.
This is definitely the theme for my birthday party. Yes! We renting Bridgerton attire, playing hip-hop 1700s music & turnin' tf up! This looks like so much fun!😆
I wanna come! You know what costume would be lit? Arriving in full hoop skirt with the high collar up to your chin edged with lace, shades of Marie Antoinette. After a couple of drinks and getting tired of that hoop steppin all over ya swag, remove the outer layer and present a slammin mixture of old and new.. Victorian minx, if you will. A whalebone corset dressed up with black lace. LOL, I just erased a hella long description. Y'all get the idea. So when and where's the party luv? LOL Seriously though, it sounds like a good time. Happy birthday 🎂🎈
Although I care not for racism, I love the way you took “perceived “ divide and mashed it up into one, absolutely beautiful, please keep making more I absolutely love this
If y’all haven’t seen it please go watch “Chevalier”…it’s about the first Black classical composer (whose music was lost to history until recently). This video is giving the same vibes as that film.
I loved it and I’m 67 years old! I’m real jealous cause my knees hurt just looking at him. I love classical music but you may have the key to getting more of our little people into it. ❤
@@lambsauc324 If you want to get some really good references I'd recommend Sewstine's videos on RU-vid on 18th century clothing. She recreated some dresses from the time and historical sewing youtuber's channels are a goldmine in general since they actually have to study the clothing in order to recreate it. Will give you some starting points from where you can search on and you can use the videos once again when you need to see details
Dude, this was dope! When I put it on, I was going to listen to it thinking it was the entire songs........ You should make an actual playlist with the whole songs done like this, you bring new life to these amazing classic hits
They actually did this on Queen Charlotte it translated very well. I recommend people listen to the Bard dude flipped modern beats to the midlevel times that slaps.
One of the most legendary rap albuns from Brazil has this vibe. The name is "Babylon by Gus" by Black Alien. A lot of classical musical samples and straight bangers.
Damn just listened to it and I wish we had more English speaking rappers using classical music. Bassthoven is what made me realize how good classical is with rap/hip hop
i come back to this video almost every month or so, not because this man can dance his ASS off, not cuz this music is actually fkn FIRE, not because this shit is fkn HILARIOUS............ But cuz he really rocks that dress 🤣
"Go maiden, it's thy date of birth" "We shall celebrate, alike thy date of birth" "We sip such fine wine alike thy date of birth" "And you have the knowledge that we are disinterested that it is not thy date of birth" -50 Shillings
"Flyting" is the original hip-hop and has been around since at least the 1500's, but probably much longer. Germany, Scandinavia, and Scotland practiced it famously. A common format would be two rivals, complete with posse, who would take turns insulting each other and boosting themselves up with rhyming verse sung for the crowd.
