Ive been having such OCD in regards to being a christian believer and thinking Im going to burn in hell because I struggle with lust and sex addiction. I know Paul talks about it being impossible to stop sinning even as a believer, we cannot live up to Jesus not one of us is good and we are only saved by his grace not our acts of good. Thankyou Father God.

Yes, and when people say that they always talk about the sin of commission. I've never heard of anyone saying that you have to share the Gospel a certain amount of times or memorize enough Books in the Bible. Even though those things are commanded to us as believers. We're saved by grace... Not by works... But we are blessed to do good works out of thankfulness to Christ.

The “confusion” comes from the constant use of the generic word “Salvation”. The word means to be “delivered” or “rescued” but it has many aspects to it that are written about by the NT writers. 3 of which are Justification (forgiveness of sin), Sanctification ( being set apart), and Glorification (bodily resurrection. God’s Grace and the application of faith are threads that run through all aspects of this “new life”. But what this guy is focused on is the first step of justification, if I’m hearing him correctly. Much of the New Testament speaks to how we live our life after that. And it teaches us that a death takes place (to the flesh and the old nature) (see Romans chapters 6-8 and Galatians Chapters 5&6) and a freedom to pursue God without the condemnation of the O.T Law. We are not left to ourselves and our strength to pursue these things, God has deposited His Spirit within us, to comfort, teach and strengthen us. There is so much more to this single word than people may understand. But, again, God’s Grace and the application of faith are threads that run through the whole process.

No need to make salvation more confusing and argue about that word. The Gospel is simple and believing on Christ is how we are saved. We have to give the lost person the simplicity of Christ, so they understand how to be saved first and it is by grace thru faith and not of themselves or works. Then that saved person can choose to grow in grace and SHOULD do good works built on the foundation of the Christ. This is what it is meant that the truth shall set you free. Now the saved person is eternally secure and is operating under grace. There are many false teachers out there that is making the simplicity of Christ complicated to confuse and create doubt in people. 2 Corinthians 11 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

To@@GiftofGrace88 This thread is a discussion on the subjects of doctrine, theology and correct word understanding/usage. I agree whole heartedly that the "Good News" (gospel) is simple enough for a child familiar with what is sin, heaven/hell and the hope that is found in Jesus; but we are not talking to children now are we?? Even the verses you quoted are concerned about false understandings (another Jesus, another spirit, another gospel). Paul spent months at these biblical locations (sometimes multiple visits) teaching and clarifying what he was trying to convey and all we have is a single letter or two from Paul to these churches, written in another language, at another time in history, to a different culture. My point...these were written after clarification was made, and then to strengthen/ encourage them when they were challenged. Turning from the broad path of sin to the narrow path found in Christ is the beginning of discipleship. My response was to those disciples; are we not told to go and "make disciples"? Matt. 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Please note that I have no anger or animosity toward your response, we should all be concerned with the truth and be encouraging/challenging one another toward growth in the faith.

Hello Dr. Bob. There’s quite a debate in the comments here. Could you do a video on the seeming contradictions in scripture regarding salvation? I sometimes wish the new testament writers could have foreseen debates like this and made themselves clearer. I’m sick of them as they are confusing and in the end unproductive as there are scriptures that can be quoted convincingly for either side and this is taking away my interest in reading scripture. Please help!

The interesting thing about this channel's message is that it teaches you will go to hell if you believe you have to obey Jesus. If you know Jesus' voice, that will sound very off to you. It sounds more like... the devil trying to trick you so you'll go to hell. "Did God REALLY say you must obey?..." To have faith is to believe God. God says obey.

@@krisjustin3884 It is not wrong to have teachers, as long as they teach what is right. The Bible tells us there are good teachers and false teachers. We are told to use discernment. It’s no one’s responsibility to do your seeking for you. Ask God. He still speaks. If you don’t care enough, there are consequences for that. That seeking part is very, very important to God. “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

The person who believes on Christs blood alone will get to heaven. BUT God will chastise his children there is punishment in this life giving into lusts. Hebrews 12:6-11 King James Version 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. There are rewards in Heaven too if you look at the scriptures

A lustful thought itself is not a sin, it can become sin if James 1:14-15 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. We do have to do something STRIVE FOR HOLINESS Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. We absolutely cannot use Grace as an excuse for sexual sin. Galatians 5:16-21 So I say, WALK BY THE SPIRIT, and YOU will not GRATIFY THE DESIRES of the FLESH.17For the FLESH DESIRES what is CONTRARY to the SPIRIT, and the SPIRIT what is CONTRARY to the FLESH. They are IN CONFLICT with each other, so that you ARE NOT to do WHATEVER YOU WANT.18 But IF you are LED by THE SPIRIT, you are NOT UNDER the LAW. 19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I WARN YOU, as I did before, THAT THOSE WHO LIVE LIKE THIS WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Colossians 3:5-9 Put to death therefore whatever belongs to your earthly nature sexual immorality impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. BECAUSE OF THESE, THE WRATH OF GOD IS COMING. You used to walk in these ways in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these anger, rage malice slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator 1 Peter 4:1-3 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body arm yourselves also with the same attitude because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires but rather for the will of God. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do living in debauchery lust drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4They are carousing and detestable practices. Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.

Jesus told those who were already believing in Him that if their eye caused them to sin, to pluck it out, for it would be better to enter life with missing body parts than for their intact body to enter into hell. This means that hell is still a possibility if we do not master sin in our lives. Notice he did not say, if your eye causes you to sin, simply believe in Me.
