Hey family, this is a VERY sensitive and controversial subject that I would love to hear your thoughts on in terms of what you believe the BIBLE teaches. Let's get this discussion going! Leave your thoughts, ideas, questions below!

Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical and Branhamist churches including all so-called revealed or restored churches worship the devil in the name of Jesus Christ or the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven are always on the earth with a man who is the fiery lamp and the light of the world

I would appreciate if you would look at the replies to the comment I made. I'm not the person to answer their questions of homosexuality when I didn't bring it up in my original comment. I don't know I don't know if the people are honestly asking or trying to start an internet fight. And I don't want a fight. I'd rather just delete the comment if it's trying to start a fight.

THE BEAT by Allen Parr : God hates divorce.......and I’ll tell you why God hates divorce and remarriage so much.....when we read the Bible Jesus thought so highly of marriage that he used the earthly institution of marriage between one husband and one wife to “illustrate” a picture of the relationship between Christ and His church......what divorce and remarriage shows is either Christ living in adultery, either the church living in adultery, or either both living in adultery and that’s why God takes this whole issue of divorce and remarriage so seriously..........in fact Paul who wrote most of the New Testament got his direct revelation from the resurrected Jesus Christ himself and explains in 1 Corinthians and again in Galatians “do not be deceived, adulters will not inherit the kingdom of God....but most are deceived living in adultery thinking they will go to heaven but they will go to hell.....if God let’s them in heaven that would make God a liar.....and God cannot lie.......people love their lives more than they love God......they don’t love to serve God.....they live to serve themselves.......repent for your sins, quit trying to justify your sins......repent and believe the gospel......is Christ enough for you???? Marriage is permanent and marriage is indissoluble......

Growing up I had a neighbor that was constantly been abused by her husband, yet she could not leave because church people told her she will be viewed as an adulteress if she leaves him and remarried. No offense to anyone, I wish she had left rather than the horrible end she met at the end one last beating with internal bleeding doctors could not save her. Our God is a forgiving God to any women out there please leave it serves no purpose if your children can see the brokenness in your household or worst your broken body on the floor. Let this be between you and God for no one else can offer you rest.

@@philipbuckley759 first there's no perhaps DOMESTIC ABUSE IS UNACCEPTABLE PERIOD. Second if by your account that its true that would have made God the biggest hypocrite, because how would you sacrifice yourself for something of no value to you. Jesus came to do God the Father's will. I truly find it hard to believe that God has excepted David, Solomon, Jacob, Abraham, just to name a few with multiple wives, and for the sake of argument Jacob married 2 sisters by our society standard is A BIG NO now. So again if a woman is in an abusive relationship God not sitting on his throne saying bravo, and get mad if she leaves to make a better life for herself and that of her children. God is not cruel like us to tell a women if leave that abuser you will never be loved again.

@@udonsayyyy8856 I agree, abuse is detestable and unacceptable, the Bible is clear though on divorce. Only through sexual immorality can we get a divorce. God does say that we can separate but remain single or be reunited to our spouse. There are no grey areas in God's word and we can't change God's word to suite our desires. It is not a sin to be separated and life a new life for God and yourself, it is a sin to remarry or cause your spouse to remarry. If you believe that abuse is grounds for divorce, then you can make any sin grounds for divorce, and end up having divorces for petty things. In addition you go against God's word. As for multiple spouses. Before the law, God allowed things, then He gave the law and we were held accountable for our actions, when Jesus came, more light was shown on the way God requires us to live. One of these is 1 man for 1 woman and 1 woman for 1 man. (1 Cor:7) (Romans ...) I really cant stand abuse and my heart is torn for abused victims. In this story you shared, the church was very wrong, not once did they lift a finger to help her, to give her a safe haven, to intervene in this situation. Instead this church chose to pile up her guilt and in so doing putting herself in harm.

My X wife cheated then took my daughter and moved out. Then she filed for divorce. Then she remarried someone completely different. I didn't cheat or try to get a divorce. Matthew Chapter 5 31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

I was divorced 23 years ago, in complete concordance with biblical teachings. When I came home from work the day my husband finally moved out (more than three months after I'd filed), I collapsed on my couch, lay my head against the back, and thought, 'This feels so good, so right!' I think that was when I knew that I was probably born to be an old maid, and knew I'd never marry again. Not all of us want to remarry. I have the freedom to remarry, but not the desire. Other than my love of Christ, my single status has been probably my longest held belief. I was lost when I married, came to Christ three years into that marriage, and He sustained me throughout the rest of my union, and has held me in His mighty hand since being single. His strength is sufficient, His knowledge is perfect, so I continue to grasp the hem of His robe, sometimes thinking I'm too comfortable for my own good! I've now been flying solo longer than I was married, and I've never been happier. This might not be the life for everyone, but it is the only choice that has worked for me.

Jesus said all remarriage is Adultury. Stop listening to people and ask for an infilling of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said the comforter on the father will send will lead and guide you into all truth. Satan is very deceptive Jesus offers NO EXCEPTIONS on divorce and remarriage .... Did you know the Book of Matthew was circulated among the Jews and the Book of Mark and Luke was circulated among the Gentiles In The Book of Mark and Luke Jesus offers no exception whatsoever In the Book of Matthew Jesus said that a Jewish man who is betrothed to a virgin and if he finds out she's not a virgin "before" they're married he can put her away. This is why he used the term "fornication". .... Also if you're relying on a modern translation of the Bible you are being deceived by Satan Did you know the NIV Bible has omitted so many scripture that it's enough to fill 33 small books of the Bible. Did you know places in the NIV that were omitted dealt with worshipping Jesus Christ the blood of Jesus and very important scriptures. Did you know the same company that prints the NIV Bible and most modern Bible translations also produces the Satanic Bible. It comes from the SAME company FACT. Did you know that ALL PASTORS allowing divorce and remarriage COMPLETELY IGNORE the book of Mark and the book of Luke were Jesud offers NO EXCEPTIONS. Don't die in your sins Repent and leave the adulturous affair Your remarriage is in fact Adultury Repent of this adultury Did you know the scripture says what God has joined together no man can put asunder When you made a covenant till death do you part to the person that was never marry your first wife or husband the GOD recorded your covanant in heaven and joined you as ONE FLESH. No "man" can undo this ONE FLESH that God performed in Heaven. Jesus said, many will say unto me Lord Lord and Jesus said He will say Depart from me, you worker of iniquity. The word of God is not popular today and man has tried to redefine God's word for centuries God defines a marriage as a man with one or more wives (provided each wife has never been married or is widowed) God will not allow a man to divorce his wife and marry another woman because the man is symbolic of God and the wife is symbolic of isreal. I plead with you to STOP LISTENING TO MAN, STOP PUTTING YOUR ETERNAL SOUL in the hands of youtube video authors who DO NOT HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. Notice if you have a room full of Christians and if you ask a question about divorce and remarriage you'll get a thousand different answers. People ask the preacher "what is YOUR VIEW of divorce and remarriage?" WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU ASK A MAN "WHAT IS HIS VIEW" WHEN GOD TOLD YOU HIS VIEW ALREADY? Read the book of Mark Read the book of Luke Use a King James Bible there is no debate on the subject. I warn you before God If you follow anyone else other than Jesus, you will end up in Hell Jesud said I AM THE WAY, I AM THE TRUTH, I AM THE LIGHT No man comes to the father but by me No one goes to heaven but by me Jesus is saying Again I warn you to flee your ungodly affair that God sees as adultury when you stand before God you will not be able to have an excuse because of God's servant warned you that you were going to die and go to hell for sexual sin. . 4 likes.

1 Corinthians 7:10-11 “Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife.” It is very clear from God’s Word that He has instituted marriage to be between one man and one woman, and that the marriage contract is binding as long as both partners are alive. Even though the Bible does open for divorce in some cases, it also makes it very clear that this does not lift the commitment to faithfulness for either partner, and they may not remarry as long as the other partner is still alive.

God seals the deal all the way around on this one, on anything & everything we have issues with. We quote certain scripture but not all 🤔 What bothers me mostly is everything & everyone has rules & regulations but I guess God isn’t supposed to? The very fact that we in the end of days are still puzzled by The Word which was written for ever ago. Adultery, divorce can be like any other sin which God has mercy and grace to forgive you for. I believe it's more complicated and there are other scripture like a husband is to nourish and cherish his wife, unbalanced weights etc. There could be a abuse, addiction etc. God is a God of love and compassion with a new covenant full of grace.

Thank you my brother because you included Scripture, so there can be understanding on what stipulations that God permits divorce especially when the marriage covenant has been defiled. Adultry is devastating and a traumatic experience that breaks the trust in relationships. Some people don't understand the devastation that adultry has on care leaders and the children. A Bishop and his wife divorced with the reason they groan apart as he stated to his congregation and a year later he married a women from the same Church. I started searching the scriptures wanting understanding why was so many Ministers divorcing and remarrying. A Christian told me they can ask for forgiveness and I was satisfied, a week are two later while sitting in my living room with the Laker Game on and the volume up loud I heard the Holy Spirit say “YES THEIR FORGIVEN BUT THEY MUST DIVORCE” I jumped up and yelled out and my daughter told me to calm down, but I was excited. Then I asked the Holy Spirit why they have to divorce? but I didn’t hear his voice this time, however wisdom kicked in and I knew that if they continue to stay married they both are still in adultery. True repentance is to depart from the sin not remain in it. Great video young man keep up the good work

If you obey the "law of sin" it brings death and condemnation Or the " law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus" it brings life eternal. That why there is grace and mercy that Jesus provides those that obey Him.

First one I cheated on him, and then the second marriage he constantly cheated on me. After that second divorce by the age of 23, I got saved, clean and delivered of a 13 year drug addiction! I talked with my pastor and his wife in depth before I ever considered dating again, because of those 2 divorces. This May my sweet husband and I will be married 27 years! Long story short, there was no reconciliation and I filed for divorce after finding the cheating evidence and he admitted to me in person while in the process of packing and leaving town, that he "considered himself single". I met my current husband after te divorce was final. We are now married for almost 6 months and it has been beautiful. I'm grateful to have been freed and to now have a loving and committed husband. How do you truly REPENT (which means to STOP, TURN AWAY from your sin and follow Christ) and still continue to live in the sin? JESUS says whosoever put away his/her spouse and marry’s another, COMMITTETH (which means to practice/continue) adultery. Hebrews 10:26 tells us “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins” Yes, GOD recognizes that remarriage ...AS ADULTERY(sin), which He says to REPENT of (to STOP). JESUS instructs the divorced to remain unmarried or be reconciled to our first spouse. GOD takes marriage very seriously and he means what he says ‘til death do you part’. It may be hard to except the ways of GOD at times but they are not grievous to those that are in CHRIST. We as believers have to not be deceived by our human emotions and desires. We are to pick up our cross and follow JESUS no matter how much it hurts. We trust Him and all His ways not our own. He is Holy t herefore we are to walk in righteousness like our Father. He will forgive us when we stumble and turn from our wicked ways, but willful sin is to reject Him. We obey CHRIST as a result of our love and reverence for Him. We find our joy and peace in Him. We don’t trample over His precious blood by giving way to our flesh. That leads to death. Study scripture for yourself. Just you and GOD. Not theology school or a pastor. Ask GOD to reveal the truth to you in all matters. HOLY SPIRIT will teach you. GOD bless you!

Felecia Harris this guy is a false prophet ... I’m here to help you ... if you never had a living companion and the man you married never had a living companion when you got married than that man is your husband UNTIL he or you is dead ... Even though your husband walked out on you, your still bound (and so he is) by the law of marriage until your both dead ... now if he gets married while your still alive he’s living in adultery ... if you get married to another man while he’s alive your living in adultery ... and if both of you guys are married to people outside of your marriage your both in adultery which will make him an adulterer and you a an adulteress and according to 1st Corinthians 6:9 and Galatians 5:19 Adulterers and adulteress will NOT get into heaven and will be damned ... This guy is a false prophet he’s not telling the truth, look at all the different versions of the Bible he uses for certain scriptures, he know he’s doctrine is damnable ... Romans 7:3 KJV So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

Grace B David well the Bible speaks clear about a woman and a man being married UNTIL DEATH ... if a husband is abusive or a drunk than the woman is justified to “separate” she is entitled to separate (her and the kids) from that man ... of course God is smart enough to make a way out that the woman wouldn’t be physically endangered for her life and her children’s like ... 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 KJV And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

Here's the thing. I love that scripture BUT one thing people don't realize is that not every marriage is joined together by God. Sometimes WE choose to marry someone against God's consent due to us wanting what we want more than what God wants. Does that make the marriage valid? Again, IF God DID NOT join them together. If it is true that God is not apart of every union, then divorce would seem reasonable if that situation isn't redeemable. Some people he has anointed for a specific purpose and may need a specific type of person to join themselves with. If they are not with the right help mate they could forfeit their God-given purpose and settle and never accomplish what they were put on this earth to do because the person that they united themselves with is unable to push them towards purpose. I think situations like that happen to. People assume that every marriage is God ordained and its not. Lets talk about that reality first before addressing whether or not divorce is permitted.

i have wondered the same thing. That's one reason that being able to be married to the same-sex doesn't really upset me except it opens the door to worse and more sinister things (like pedophilia). If God ordains marriage (and He does), He would not ordain a gay marriage. It's all just a legal contract on earth anyway. I am married to my David no matter what. By man but more importantly, by God. I always had a sense that he was the right man for me. I can't explain it but I definitely made the right choice.

I need help. I just got married to my once divorced husband. His first marriage was forced by his mother at a young age. We have a child and just acquired our first home and just got back from our honey moon. The whole reason why we were married is because I pushed for it, I wanted god to be the ruler of our relationship and wanted him to bless our relationship. I knew he was divorced but I did not know that marrying him was adultery. I spoke with my partner today and he said he initiated the divorce due to her sneaking around with a guy repeatedly but fornication couldn’t be proven. Now I’m here in our brand new house and one on the way and I’m utterly destroyed. I don’t know what to do. Do I divorce? Am I to destroy our relationship and remain single? If I have to end it… I’ll be to heartbroken to ever date again.

this is very good point, Mocha Ambree ! Ive seen many young people (even two christians) who got married and after little time they find out it was mistake ! THE CHOICE ! so its realy difficult to be taugh on people with biblical verses and tell them now: NO, YOU CANNOT DIVORCE, when GOD knew from the begining it was mistake ! And yes he respects our will but HE DOES know it ! He knows end before the begining. ANd mistake and wrong partner just doesnt become "right way" just because you have official paper from wedding ceremony ! There are even christian couples who live in the tornment of their personal life, just because on wedding day they though GOD is putting them together ! But it was THEM who wanted to be put together. Only them and their free will blinded by the chemistry. And thats realy something seriously christians in their theology often do forgets when they judge divorced people ! We as christians often do and say alot of stuff and put the GODs stamp on it and than we wonder why things doesnt work ! and than we eat consequences sooner or later on the timelime either by tornmenting ourself in relationship and being afraid that we cannot divorce, because our christian community will exclude us cs we became horrible sinners, OR we divorce and it unfortunately and mostly happens anyway, that we get excluded from comunity, becs hardly anyone acualy consider it was mistake from the begining ! My opinion is that this topic HAS TO BE so complicated on purpose otherwise humans would switch partners as fast as sox. Yes, Divorce 9 of 10 is sin of adultury acording those biblical rules, yet not unforgivable sin as church mostly presents it, when can be blind to reasons but tries to judge consequences and its slow to forgiveness. I wish luck and GODs wisdom to all of you to choose the right partner for life !

I feel like a lack of holding to Gods words has actually hindered the success of many marriages in the church. Because this is such an uncomfortable topic, many shy away from teaching it in its truth but I think by doing that we have hurt ourselves more than we think. If we live Gods word for what it is truly is, I think that many issues we commonly face would begin fading away. The Lord said that we will have many struggles as believers. The key verse is "what God has put together..." Many people get married and even make vows before God that He never put them together, but they still got married anyway, and want God to cosign their union when He never called them or put them together. I know for a fact of people that got married and God told them no, but they still went ahead and now dealing with it. This happens all the time. Marriage is a calling. Destines coming together for a common goal, many times a goal greater than yourself. There is a difference what man and woman put together and what God put together. If you are in an abusive marriage, you can leave the abusive marriage, but you cannot get remarried as long as your covenant spouse is still alive. You are to remain unmarried or be reconciled with your spouse (1 Corinthians 7:10-11). Jesus said in Mark 10:11-12 & Luke 16:18 that if a man or woman divorces and marries someone else they are committing adultery. Also read Romans 7:2-3 where it stated that if a woman divorces and remarries while her covenant spouse is still alive, she will be called an adulteress, but if her covenant spouse is dead she is free to remarry. 1 Corinthians 7:39 lets us know that only death ends the marriage. Do not let anyone try to explain away what the scriptures say about divorce and remarriage. If you divorce and remarry while you covenant spouse is still alive you will be committing adultery which is a sin. Adulterers will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) if they do not forsake the sin of adultery. Before you make any moves in your life, diligently seek God's guidance and find out what He wants you to do. He will never tell you to do something that goes against what the Bible says.

I'm glad people are bringing up the topic of abuse because it is disturbing to me. You say leave and remain single, because that is what the plain reading of the text says. But there are other texts in the Bible that say things like, Rescue those who are being led away to slaughter. There are also more subtle ways of being abused, such as financially. I have known women who can't just separate because the man cleans them out financially and they can't survive. Here is where our churches fall down on the job. They don't protect these women from evildoers, and what about the children? Most grow up leaving the church. Who can blame them? Some men (and some women) are very good at putting on a show for church people, and they know how to keep their abuse secret and bully their family into not telling. It is a terrible scourge on the church, and a shame when the world needs to expose it.

Hebrews 10:26-31 KJVS For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, [27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. [28] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: [29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [30] For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. Hello friends, I have noticed that on this topic there is always a reference to Mathew's Gospel that is written for a Jewish audience with Jewish traditions I believe that it is being misunderstood. Jewish traditions required your fiance to be pure (virgin) when engaged (they called one another husband and wife) and if you took her and she was not then you could divorce her (immediately not years later)because she wasn't. (Joseph and Mary) He believed that she committed sexual immorality and was going to put her away. The exception is only found in Mathew and no where else in the New Testament (keep that in mind). If this was the ultimate out then why wasn't it repeated multiple times in the other gospels and epistles as pretty much everything important is. The early churches taught that you could divorce but you could never remarry as long as your covenant spouse was alive but changed overtime as some thought God's way was monstrous. Also in Jeremiah 3 God himself divorced but still says that he is married to them (14th verse). The example for marriage is there and also Paul's epistles also references the law of marriage. I would like to encourage all to read for yourself but read with a heart of forgiveness and love.

Stay strong in your faith and always give the word of God as it is written, even when some may not want to hear the truth. It is the duty of believers to never water down the word for the sake of feelings as the word is sharp and able to pierce the most stubborn hearts. God will win those that want to be won, he will lose those that want to be lost and he will win those that believe they are lost. Don't forget to educate persons on this part not just the sexual part but the part about one can't take part in marriage unless that partner has died, 1 Corinthians 7:39, "A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord."

No, this teaching is heresy. The truth is, you are not allowed to remarry. Many think that because of the “fornication” clause in Matthew you can remarry because of adultery: "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for fornication (or uncleaness porneia), and marries another woman commits adultery (moikeia)."-Matthew 19:9 Notice that the Greek word for fornication is “porneia” and the Greek word for adultery is “moikea.” Also, please note that this “except for fornication” clause is not found in Mark 10:1-11 or Luke 16:18. This is because Matthew was writing to Jews. The Jews had a betrothal period before marriage. This was somewhat like our engagement period today. For example, since Mary was pregnant, Joseph could have ‘put away’ his fiancée because of fornication. Notice that the Bible refers to Mary as Joseph’s wife before they were married: Luke 2:5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, Matt. 1:20 … Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife… The Jewish betrothal was begun with a proposal and a commitment made in the presence of witnesses. It was beyond the private promise made in modern engagements of today, and was considered legally binding. Therefore to break an espousal in Jewish society required a legal separation - a writing of divorcement equivalent to that required of married couples. THERE IS NO DIVORCEMENT CLAUSE FOR GENTILES BECAUSE GENTILES DO NOT HAVE BETROTHAL LAWS LIKE JEWS. If you remarry while your spouse is still alive, you are continuously committing adultry, you can't put a band-aid of grace and continue in that sinful marriage, just as you can't continue in a homosexual marriage, because though God is aware that people do divorce and remarry others, He still does not even recognize the second marriage as valid, he instead says that the remarried are STILL committing adultry against their original spouse: "So then if, WHILE HER HUSBAND LIVETH, she be MARRIED TO ANOTHER MAN, SHE SHALL BE CALLED AN ADULTRESS: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man."-Romans 7:3 [Romans is NEW TESTAMENT, giving validity to the marriage law, so it must be obeyed by Christians] WHAT MAN HAS JOINED LET NO MAN PUT ASUNDER (SEPARATE). TWO SHALL BE ONE FLESH (Matthew 19:6). If the government didn't make them one flesh, how can it make them two with divorce? God established marriage before government, from the beginning (Genesis 2:24), therefore He is the authority on the matter, not man's legalized divorce. "'Till death do you part". KEEP YOUR VOWS. In Ecclesiastes 5:4-6, God says that if you do not keep your vows, He will destroy the work of your hands. If nothing seems to be going right in your remarriage even though you're an exemplary Christian, and you're here rebuking the devil, you only need to look in the mirror because you have made God angry at your voice for not keeping your vows. A study by researchers Paul Amato and Danelle Deboer indicated that if a person's parents divorced, odds of that person divorcing increased 69%, and if both a husband and wife's parents divorced, the risk of divorce increased by 189%. This proves that divorce is a generational curse, it affects your lineage. That is why when the disciples heard the hard truth about marriage, they said that it would be better to not even marry at all (Matthew 19:9-10). If you are remarried, you must divorce. If you are divorced only, you must stay single or wait for reconciliation with your original spouse. The only time you can remarry is if your original spouse dies: "And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife."-1 Corinthians 7:10-11 You don't have to believe me, you can read the Word of God, there is no remarriage allowed in there. Also, you can read the testimonies of all these people who were convicted and even had dreams of hell because of their adulterous remarriages: cadz.net/humphrey.html God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16)

what if God has not joined together in the first place. There was deception which was later found out in marriage. If God did not join together as such then it can, it should or it may be put assunder if a spouse cannot continue because of the impact of such deception now coming out. Second, you said ' They may have to wait till their spouse die' ...what if that said spouse is in another marriage...they still have to be waiting for their death. The whole book is a metaphor of how Christians and the church have committed adultery on God over and over and over again but God keeps chasing us and wanting us to come back and pleading with us to come back because he loves us so much. The scripture is referring to those who are under bondage to sin with an unbelieving spouse. The scripture reads "not under bondage" which means no longer enslaved to sin. Being called to live in peace means being free to worship the Lord without distraction or temptation to sin. It is not giving permission to remarry since Christ had already commanded the divorcing wife to remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband just 4 verses above in 1 Corinthians 7:11.

One important thing to realize is that modern versions of the Bible contain errors and mistranslations. For instance in Matthew, in the original Hebrew language, Jesus never said to divorce someone and remarry is adultery. He said to put away someone and remarry is adultery. Modern translations interchange put away and divorce, which is wrong. In the Hebrew language, the terms put away and divorce do not mean the same thing. Put away means basically to kick out of the house without giving a bill of divorcement. That was a common practice in ancient Israel, where women were treated as property. The Torah allows for a bill of divorcement. Not ideal in God’s eyes, but necessary because of man’s hard heart. Most pastors who condemn people for remarriage have not done an in-depth study of Hebrew Scripture.

If you are going to demand that others live under the law, then you must also keep ALL of the law, or else you are a hypocrite. The Bible makes it plain that no man can keep all the law. New Testament believers live under grace, not the law. I am not questioning whether divorce and remarriage is right or wrong, but whether we are under grace or the law. God offers grace, and I choose grace. Romans 7:2-4 KJV “[2] For the woman which hath an husband is BOUND BY THE LAW to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. [3] So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. [4] Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become DEAD TO THE LAW by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.” Now I know Paul is not talking here about justifying divorce and remarriage, and yet it does apply. Paul is saying that we are dead to the law, we are no longer bound by the law, because of grace. So what is it that says a person CANNOT divorce and remarry? The Law! And what does Paul say about the Law? We are now dead to the Law! The Law reveals the mind of God, and if we sin against the will of God, it is sin, but it is not unpardonable. You are right in that the courts cannot overrule God, but God’s Word itself says that we are dead to the Law that says a husband and wife are “bound,” and in some cases, in bondage to one another for life. In other words, it is the Law that says a woman is bound by the law to her husband, but grace says WE ARE DEAD TO THE LAW.

@@1947DML definitely you are twisting the scriptures and not considering the context. A woman being "bound" to her husband as long as they're both alive, is in relation to the Word of God which says, " THEREFORE what GOD has JOINED together, let no man put asunder" 🙌🙌🙌🙌IF GOD THE FATHER HIMSELF, is the one who JOINED THE TWO, ONLY "HE" can put them asunder. In His eyes, they are one in Spirit and in flesh, because He is the one WHO JOINED IT! As such the woman (co-heir in Christ) is BOUND to her husband (another co-heir in Christ) as long as they're both alive. No human being, no earthly court, not even those two, can put it asunder. They may break the covenant God has set up with them, but if God the Father is NOT WILLING (STILL STANDING BY HIS OWN COVENANT), TO HIM, they're still husband and wife! In this case, this is why is very vital for the Two to SEEK THE WILL OF GOD, TO FIND OUT WHAT THE WILL OF GOD IS!
@1947DML
@1947DML 3 года назад
@@katlegomolokoe4437 A little reading comprehension would go a long way. I have twisted nothing. For one thing the Law was given to the nation of Israel. I am not a Jew, I am a saved Gentile. Read what the Apostles commanded when the issue of requiring Gentiles to live under the law was discussed. But as far as the reading comprehension, look up the word “let.” I believe that every word Jesus used had meaning, and the word let is different from “can’t” or “cannot.” It is saying do not “let” man put asunder, which means that man should not, but it does not mean that God would absolutely prevent it. If so, Jesus would have said, “What God has joined together, man CANNOT put asunder. He did not choose to say that on purpose. Look at it another way also. If you are saying that God made it impossible for a couple to be unbound, then they have not divorced and therefore there is no sin. Bottom line though is that what I said earlier twists nothing. The Word of God certainly says what you said, but you ignore that is according to the Law of Moses to which the true Christian is NOT BOUND. Now if we are bound by that part of the Law, we are also bound by the part which says that we are not to wear garments with mixed materials in it, so are you guilty? Get very familiar with the whole OT Law if you are bound by it.

@@1947DML With the love of Christ, I would really trust the Holy Spirit to be your greatest teacher and guide you further❤️. The scripture 1 Corinthians 7:39 clearly states: "A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, BUT HE MUST BELONG TO THE LORD." The word "bound" is on the foundation of the keyword "Covenant". What "binds" the Lord Jesus Christ with His bride (the church)?✋A covenant on the basis of the shed blood is what makes the Lord Jesus ONE (bound) with His bride. This is marriage. It's a COVENANT. And the scripture further indicates that if she marries again after the death of the first spouse, the second person must "belong to the Lord", in other words, that person must be a believer, because the two will be co-heirs in Christ. AS SUCH YOU ARE BOTH BOUND BY FAITH IN CHRIST! We should really be careful of rushing ahead to twist the scriptures to justify the sin. I have an interesting vantage and testimony. Allen you quoted " what God joined..." I know every unity is Not of GOD. I , @ age 19, a sophomore in college, was standing before a judge to be wed to a man 12yrs older than me. I heard The Holy Spirit say, "Say No", but in my immaturity and weakness to emotions, I didn't want to hurt his feelings in front of all those people and said yes. I cried so heavily, went to my mother and told her," I think I made a terrible decision, I think God told me to say no, but he looked so happy I didn't want to hurt him". 1 month after our union, I discovered he was an atheist (I never questioned because of how rooted in Christ his mother was - she lived with us). We divorced 2 yrs later. Currently I'm yoked to my Christ appointed king and The Lord covers and blesses us daily. God's words are 4ever true, but I believe the portion "what God hath joined..." is greatly neglected in these discussions/topics. Your words Allen, "just because the courts say a marriage is dissolved doesn't mean it's true in God's eyes" however I'd encourage that same application to unity. Just because you think this person is my "forever" doesn't mean they are heavenly appointed, as is true of all paths we walk. Similar to Leah and Rachel, Jacob was tricked into union with Leah, but he wanted Rachel and did receive her and was blessed of God as we know He is the ONLY ONE capable of creating life. Although, Leah was not divorced there is cause for debate by applying their story since the culture of those times took multiple wives. I personally attest that if you're matured in The Word prior to marriage then you are in willful sin to break the Words of The Lord listed in The Bible, but if you're not in Christ or a babe in Christ when marrying and divorcing, repent of your sin and walk correctly in your next steps. The Lord, The greatest Father will not punish His children for what they do not know nor understand. What good parent will punish their child for doing something wrong that they did not teach them to do correctly? Finally, unity created by God, had nothing to do with papers, courts, and words. Marriage was the act of sexual penetration, "the twain shall become 1 flesh" The only point of unification in creation.

The original text in Matthew 19 does NOT say "sexual immorality", it says fornication; specifically fornication. In the Bible, fornication was defined separately from adultery, which tells us that when they mentioned "except for fornication", they truly mean fornication. Read from king james version. You will see fornication, NOT sexual immorality. Hence it's not "sexual immorality" as several translated texts say, it is fornication as the original texts says it. The later translations broadened it to "sexual immorality", so now that opens a huge set of reasons why divorce and remarriage can happen. The devil mixes in untruth with truth and leaves you to figure it out. That's why we have what we have in today's society. "I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry." (Matthew 19). "Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery." (Luke 16) "And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. (Mark 10) Do you notice in Matthew 19 that the disciples realized how narrow the road was with marriage that they said it is better not get married. They weren't advising us to not get married. What they were saying was, that this is very, very serious commitment.

Based on the original word(s) of "sexual immorality" in e.g. Matt. 19:9 and Matt. 5:32, "Sexual immorality" covers a broad spectrum of sexual sins. It includes habitual sins such as viewing pornography, sex addiction (with e.g. self gratification), flirtatiousness, etc. Possibly establishing emotional connections/relationships with someone online or at the workplace, etc. putting such an emotional connection over the marital relationship with the pertaining spouse, although this falls more into e.g. 1 Cor. 7:15 of abandonment (of the marital relationship) which is yet another ground for divorce. And abandonment of a spouse includes drug/alcohol addiction, most certainly physical abuse, etc. We all know that God hates divorce (Mal.2:16a). Based on biblical principles, the innocent party of a divorce is always free to get remarried as they are free to do so (e.g. 1 Cor. 7:15) and they wouldn't engage in "adultery" by getting remarried to e.g. a single, widowed or other innocent divorcee. And btw, the innocent party of a divorce could be someone who is the victim of one of the grounds for divorce and then files the paperwork. See, if a spouse engages in sexual misconduct/immorality on a habitual basis without repentance, then that spouse has already divorced the innocent party and has become one soul and possibly one body (in cases of adultery/fornication) with another body, ... so it's just a matter of filing the paperwork so that the innocent party can move on with their life. And for abandonment the same biblical principle applies for the innocent party regarding being free to remarry. Now it's a different story for the guilty party of a divorce, they are certainly not free to remarry as Scripture clearly teaches and they would engage in adultery with whoever they engage in a new marriage covenant and also make that party who they marry part of the habitual adulterous lifestyle. So we need to be very careful and apply Scripture whom we should marry (and make clear if the person we marry is an innocent party of a divorce as explained in the Bible) and how we look at and treat innocent parties of a divorce.

God Made Marriage For ALL Humanity, and He Honors Marriage, including among non-believers ( see Joseph's response to Potiphar's Wife ). Divorce, Biblically, is only the separating from the Spouse. The Marriage Still Exists In God's Sight. Marriage Is Not A Sin ( unless Adulterous ), so becoming a believer DOESN'T erase the original Marriage Bond, anymore than becoming Christian would make property you robbed your neighbor's house to acquire suddenly "yours". God Doesn't Honor Explicit, Definitive Sin. He Wouldn't Have Said It's Adultery if it was negotiable. It doesn't magically cease being Adultery after demonic vows are spoken, no more than it would cease to be Adultery if done in secret, with no vows, behind the back of a Spouse one was still living with. To say otherwise is like saying theft ceases to be theft if you can manage to get your neighbour's property out of his house and into your own. Yahweh El Elyon Presented The Example Via Hosea & Gomer, And Yeshua Jesus The Christ Mightily Reaffirmed This. Herodias was an Adulteress, even if her original husband was disreputable. If a "divorce" isn't Scriptural, it isn't recognized by God. These debates have happened since before St. Augustine's time, and his view on it was categorical, as was that of our Lord Yeshua Jesus Christ. A troubled relationship can be a valid reason for a spouse distancing, even distancing via moving out, from the other spouse, but always with the Prayer for and spirit for Reconciliation. If the spouse goes from distancing for whatever form of rehabilitation, and goes from creating space to forming new relationships with other people, that is Adultery: it doesn't matter whether they call themselves "divorced" or anything of the sort, it and any subsequent relationships are Adulteries. Consider John The Baptist and the wicked Herodias. At no point does the Bible suggest that her 1st and true Husband was a good person: indeed, all we know about that family suggests he was certainly wicked, NEVERTHELESS, her "remarriage" to his brother was Adultery, and John rightly Rebuked it... her response to that Rebuke tells us all we need to know about the truly evil and unrepentant state of her heart.

@@dh605x You are either misunderstanding me or you are Sinfully WRONG. Yeshua ( Jesus ) Christ CLEARLY & EMPHATICALLY DECLARES That if a person "marries" someone else after "divorcing" his or her original Spouse, it IS Adultery ( & Adultery IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN Under Mosiac law, under penalty of death by execution ), so long as the original Spouse is living. HE Declares This In Mark, In Matthew, AND In The Gospel Of Luke. Your disagreement, if you still disagree, is Against Yeshua Christ The Messiah: if you want to argue with Him, that's on you. I am Alive & Blessedly Right On This. Certainly an already Married couple can renew Vows, even after a man-law "divorce". Deuteronomy 24 is itself a Pharisees perspective, which ignores both the Blessed Model Of Godly Spousal Love, Forgiveness & Devotion Yahweh Gives us Through His Prophet Hosea, and also The Power, Through Yeshua Christ, That Cleanses defilement: the defilement spoken of in Deuteronomy 24 comes about because the "marriage" to the second man described there is Adultery, though Moses failed to Properly state it as such because "Moses wrote you this prescript because of the hardness of your hearts" ( Mark 10:5 & 10:6 ), And our Lord Yeshua ( Jesus ) Christ Clarifies This FACT In 3 of the 4 Gospels.

I've been through the abusive marriage we were under the one roof but never was one as body ( as Bible says husband and wife should be) I used to cry in front of God that what should I do I can't see hope in this relationship as there were mental and spiritual abuse. After continues pray I came to decision that he was not the person God chose for me, and he will never change himself. I took a decision to separate and never thought to remarry again. But now it's almost 7 years of our separation. I used to pray alot asking God that what's your plan about my life, will there be my marriage again( as my family wants me to get marry) or I have to stay single forever. And there is a priest he used to come at our home and guide us whatever msg holy spirit gives him. He told me that God has seen your pain and suffering after that more than year passed and God told him that God has a great plan for your life and he will take you to the foreign country. Then I told him that God has sent a man who proposed me and he is a good person settled abroad. The priest said that's the Gods plan for you he wants to bless you as you showed your loyalty to God. My story clearly shows God sees and understand your situation. Seek help from God if you are not wrong in your relationship and other person don't take marriage according to what Bible says then he will definitely give you chance. But make your fellowship with the God strong. And he will make a great plan for you.

I left the British army after 9 years service my marriage lasted another 9 months I divorced her 2 years later not on the grounds of adultarý tho. I nearly got married again but cancelled the night before the wedding. I became a born again Christian about 7-8 years ago I've been on my own for over 11 years now but I went to Portugal on a Christian weekend healing the broken roots in your life my interpreter was a younger Indian Portuguese Christian lady we hit it off anyway then began the questions to my pastor and other Christians can I get married twice there was most In the yes you can category and1 or 2 in the no. It just didn't feel right but it turned out all she wanted was to come to the UK to get work and really she only wanted me as a means to an end and a ready made home for herself and her son from a previous marriage. @finalfantasy3808
@finalfantasy3808 2 года назад
Do not be deceived. Seeking heresy to soothe your conscious is wrong. You are not allowed to remarry.

I was a "Christian" on the outside and I knew God's word but didn't live it yet and wasn't serious. But I know that God loves us, saved us, forgave us and wants the best for us. Maybe now that we know better and did what we could to make things right now we can strive to honor Him in this marriage now that He is our foundation.

CORRECTION: After much prayerful research, I must issue a correction. The phrase "Exept it be for fornication" found in most translations of Mathew 19:9 was never in the orriginal Greek but was based on a mistranslation by Erasmus around the 15th Century. Before Erasmus compiled new Greek texts, the Church used earlier Greek translations such as the Byzantine Greek Text where the text read "not over fornication" which was understood in Greek as "not (even) over fornication" This explains the following UNDENIABLE FACTS: Before Erasmus's faulty mistranslations of Greek. The ENTIRE CHURCH relied on earlier Greek translations and was unified FOR 500 YEARS that ALL REMARRIAGE WAS ADULTERY ONLY AFTER Erasmus's faulty mistranlations in the 15th century did the subject of divorce and remarriage gain acceptance. NO ONE can refute this. NO ONE can debunk this. I have A COMPLETE LIST of ALL CHURCH FATHERS from first 500 years of Church History ALL IN AGREEMENT that divorce and remarriage is ADULTERY This also explains why when Jesus finished explaining that men cannot divorce their wives NOT EVEN OVER fornication or any sexual immorality, his followers abandoned him and his disciples said it is better NEVER TO MARRY Translations Refusing to Insert “Except” in Mt. 19:9. [Note: Each verse below understood in Greek as not (even) over] The New Greek-English Interlinear New Testament “But I say to you that who ever divorces his wife not for fornication and marries another commits adultery; and the man marrying a woman having been divorced (a divorcee) commits adultery.” ________________________________________ Darby Bible Translation “But I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, not for fornication, and shall marry another, commits adultery; and he who marries one put away commits adultery.” ________________________________________ Modern Literal Version “But I am saying to you, Whoever divorces his wife not over fornication, and should marry another, is committing adultery, and he who has married her who has been divorced is committing adultery.” 2019 Update (May 15, 2019) modernliteralversion.org/bibles/MLV/MLVBL.pdf ________________________________________ Disciples’ Literal New Testament “And I say to you that whoever sends-away his wife not based on sexual-immorality, and marries another, is committing-adultery.” ________________________________________ APOSTOLIC BIBLE POLYGLOT (1996, 2013) “And I say to you, that who ever should dismiss his wife, not for harlotry, and should marry another, commits adultery; and the one being dismissed marrying, commits adultery.” ________________________________________ CONSERVATIVE VERSION “And I say to you, that whoever may divorce his wife, not for fornication, and will marry another, commits adultery. Matthew 19:9 says if she put him away because he committed fornication, then she can remarry. If this is not the case, then she is still joined to her husband and committeth adultery. If he kept leaving her, then it was probably for someone else, but that's not for me to know.

Thanks, brother. I am a 73-year-old widower who would like to be remarried. I was an elder at a church for many years and our position was that the "exception clause(s)" in Matthew were not really exceptions. I taught--and still believe--that re-marriage after divorce is not allowed. However, now I am seeing many godly women who have had divorces in their lives and whose husbands are still living. This is creating quite a temptation for me. It's a very humbling time of my life.

Those pastors are not real pastors... according to the Word... if their first spouse is still alive and they remarry they are living in Adultry and if they don't repent and stop the constant sin of Adultry they will got to Hell no acceptions... God is not a respector of persons... these laws apply to the non believer and the believer... if a non believer or a believer jumped off of a 20 story building both would die... the laws apply to everyone and even more so to True pastors of the Bible... the fake pastors don't really care so they will keep living in sin... but the end result is eternal Hell and Damnation

I warn you before God If you follow anyone else other than Jesus, you will end up in Hell Jesud said I AM THE WAY, I AM THE TRUTH, I AM THE LIGHT No man comes to the father but by me No one goes to heaven but by me Jesus is saying Again I warn you to flee your ungodly affair that God sees as adultury when you stand before God you will not be able to have an excuse because of God's servant warned you that you were going to die and go to hell for sexual sin. . 4 likes.

Leona Banks: the Bible doesn’t say Cheat, it says “saving for fornication” and not adultery, meaning if you marry and on your honeymoon you find out that your spouse is not a virgin as promised (remember he was talking to the Israelite) then you could bull the marriage this is something that is still not recommended in the Bible.

@@childinchrist7335 that's the problem with people in the world today, they don't understand the Bible and Satan sits in the church. He sits on the seat of God displaying himself as God. People think oh I'll just remarry and commit sin for that one time act. They forget that "commits" is the word. If God doesn't care about divorce and remarry until you "find the one" then why would he spend time talking about it. Bc sin matters and it offends God period.

@@TimothyNyota it is revelant. At the moment we love mostly worldly things, because that's all we know. God give us imagination and sound mind. Being curious is healthy, you shouldn't believe blindly the bible. God wants us to meditate over scripture and ask holy spirit to let us understand it and show us the true. He write about heaven so we will try to imagine it and be amazed how much more awesome it is. He wants us to awe over his creation and worship him in a way to show that we appreciate it. Don't make people guilty for wondering if there are going to be things that are important and valuable to us here on earth. Because, once again, those ale only things we know at the moment. And to answer the questions, taking into account what I have read in the bible. For example Isaiah 65:25. Led me to believe that yes, there are going to be animals in heaven.

The reality is we do not know. God could very well include animals in Paradise. The reality is also that if our pets are not in heaven we are not going to care. We are going to be in such perfect joy with God. We wont even be able to get sad. By caring for your pet you have loved one of God's creatures and shown it kindness and God loves that. A lot of questions about heaven we just don't know the answer to.
