Big fan of what Devin is doing and his boldness to share his beliefs even if we disagree! For those commenting about me speaking a lot, it was necessary to keep the dialogue going. I think Devin is very talented with script writing and short form content, but that is very different skill from free style long form podcasting. I think if we do another podcast a year from now, the flow will be very different!
This actually pisses me off, watch other podcasts with him. He can speak exceptionally well in this format, you were the problem not him, so don’t even try that 😊
Ryan didn’t do anything wrong here. In fact, I think he was very gracious in how he gave the benefit of the doubt to what Devin was saying. What you’re seeing here is a large disparity between someone who has made multi 8 figures in business, a lot of that from content, and someone who has a 7 figure business creating content teaching people about content. And I don’t say that to knock on Devin at all. What he’s done, especially at his age, is wildly impressive. He is extremely brilliant in his sphere of knowledge. But there’s a depth of experience and knowledge that Ryan has that Devin doesn’t (yet). And that becomes clear about halfway through the interview when Ryan starts challenging him on his beliefs and Devin goes quiet. Sure if he’s on a podcast where people just ask questions, he can probably riff on his bank of quips and one liners all day long like he does in his content. But being able to defend your thesis requires a different level of depth. All around I thought this was a very insightful interview from both sides. I follow both Devin and Ryan online and love their stuff. Keep up the awesome work.
What toxic pinned note is thiiis.. maybe you could've asked many good questions??!!!! Instead of talking about yourself for a full hour 😅 this podcast will be dead soon 😮 listen to your audience rather than give lame excuses 🤔 all the best!
@@yourfirst_10k literally just watched him use his podcast to get a free consult from ravi on how to slap together a $97/mo product and have it ready to sell an hour after the show
Really liked Devin in this. Thought Ryan did a pretty bad job here. Didn't feel like he was asking many questions. More felt like he was trying to shove his ideas about business down the dude's throat. He is 19 and has a 7-figure business WITHOUT asking for anything. So maybe it works
@@mccoyk5873 haha well there you go! For me this gave me a much more positive view on Devin. Some of his videos felt a bit like he was selling the dream. But feel like he clearly has a great attitude and really cares about making great content. So think I was wrong about him. Even how he graciously dealt with Ryan's interrogation was impressive. He has my respect!
Haha I was thinking the same thing as the guy above. Absolutely love your content and the journey you went on launching your new offer. My names Kaylin Thompson! Hope to connect some day!
@@GillianLarmond Hi Guys. You really did. He does give lots of takeaways nevetherless he creates in a space of content creation not business. I think all his tips were valuable and I appreciate Ryan's questions and doubting his answers. I feel it made for a great talk but Devin does know his stuff. Do look up his content. I immediatly followed and it is valuable for sure. I think though we all need a proper writing course to know how to convey the message properly.
If you are posting on instagram, and not using some tools (like a little bit of Famester), you are probably behind 70% of other content creators. Btw, I love that we can now use all these social media platforms for benefits in other niches, not just content creation for itself. Keep up the great work, I believe this channel can be very successful.
Holy moly Ryan came across so bad here and im glad im not the only one who thought that. I hope Devin gets a chance to speak next time on his next podcast
I feel like this combo didn’t fit well It felt like ryan was just challenging devin the whole time And devin is very smart but also didn’t seem open to other’s opinions Felt more like a debate of opinions instead of an interview or a Instagram guide Both are smart in there own ways but idk this was an odd tense one
I agree and yet I will say I also do appreciate the willingness for them to respectfully (as much as possible) challenge each other's perspectives... they're both critical thinkers, willing to listen and be proven wrong, but yes it's really hard to be in a conversation like that and I respect Devin especially for being so young yet confident in willing to have a stance AND humble/open at the same time.
I agree with you. This definitely is not an interview. Therefore, I am heading to IG to learn more about Devin. Thanks to Ryan for introducing him to me lol.
Great insights on the importance of watch time over views. As a tip, creators should also analyze audience retention metrics to optimize their content's first 15 seconds, significantly impacting whether viewers stick around, boosting overall engagement and algorithm favorability.
Loved this conversation. Took so many notes! I also just wanna shoutout to Devin for being young yet confident in willing to have a stance AND humble/open at the same time to have his views challenged and to learn. Both of them exemplifying great critical thinking WITH growth mindset is what makes them so successful. Great stuff!
I don’t really think the title fit with the info on the podcast Biggest takeaway is Average view duration, types of audiences, and value over monetization
Generetions and Experience Clash in an amazing podcast! It took me 6hoursto watch it as I was stopping taking notes myself! Fuck that was sooo good! Guys thanks to both of You!
Felt like I was watching an older sibling have a conversation with a younger sibling haha. Learned quite a bit. One key takeaway lesson was that you should see social media posting as a competition because the most valuable asset is attention.
That part at 25:00 is true BUT if you push out more content buying those millions of views will have a MUCH higher ROI and those people will be much lower in the funnel.
This is my first time commenting on Ryan's channel but I felt I needed to. I feel a lot of commenters are being too hard on Ryan on this particular podcast. I heard Devin answer quite a lot of questions and also ask Ryan some questions. Besides, having watched a couple of Ryan's podcasts, if this one went a bit south, I feel we still need to cut Ryan some slack. My thoughts really
It’s obvious this kid struck a nerve with Ryan. He regrets having a family or something. He made excuse after excuse and I’m like what happened to being an entrepreneur? LOL don’t be salty because Devin will surpass you. Sit down. Be humble and learn.
my first time watching this channel...it was a yt suggestion. Not really impressed. It seemed like the host wanted to talk/brag more about himself than ask engaging questions to the guest and at times seemed like he was putting the guest down. My suggestion to the host....watch a lot of professional interviews, like Dateline. You will never hear the host even mention themselves.
Embarrassing, maybe you should get your ego in check. I had to search others Devin interview. Learn from Brett Malinowski, Colin and Samir or Jordan Welch how to deal with this young generation with respect instead of trying to lecture them
So much talking about how to create great content, yet this video itself is so bad... came here for value from the young man and there is just a guy talking about himself for an hour.. 😂 why should we listen to you?.. bye..
*Makes video about growing on Instagram *Gets the absolute BEST in the industry on the show *Shuts him out and doesn’t even let him speak, and challenges all of his strategies that literally WORK Bro he is the king of content, Stay in your own lane 😅
Braaa the way you phrased this got me dead! Each reel Devin produces ranks from 100k to millions of views. Needed to hear Devin speak more Like what are your thoughts on this? Are you against my view on this? How is your approach to etc Watched a second time to look at visuals
@@gabrielgrows_ I would recommend watching other podcasts with him, and he also has 1 video on his RU-vid Channel that has a lot of value. I’ve learned a lot from them.
This is one of the reasons why I am not watching the full interview. I am glad this video introduced me to Devin but at this point, I am going to learn more about Devin on IG. I feel like this is too much about Gary, Grant, and others (with respect to them), but I want to learn more about Devin. Not hating the interviewer, I just like when they allow the guest to talk more.
@@GillianLarmond well he does have a "limited" experience in a sense therefore I thought this conversation has a natural flow. He built a very different business out of content creation and understanding how to go "viral" and how to get attention and Delvin is at a very different point of working in a business space. His IG is great. Full of value
So hard to watch! Next time you have an expert on.. LET THEM TEACH WHAT THEY KNOW.. the audience tuned in to hear him, not you battle everything he says. He is being nice and not really going blow for blow with you, and I don't think you would have spoken to Grant like this. Everyone on your podcast should get the same level of respect. Just a thought
Looks as though Devin is slightly intimidating by Ryan. Not in a bad way- but in a way a student looks at his Sensei. That being said- what was this even about? Ryan talked so much I can’t even understand what Devin actually does. Or how he creates viral content. The problem is everyone thinks a content creator is a business person. Nope. Content creators often make horrible business people. They are entertainers. Not real business people. They only become business people AFTER content success… without that- all content creators would be working at McDonald’s.
When people say make creative engaging content is 100% cap, ive got unique style of videos that do really well but soon as I post to reels they get dead views...then you see some BS nonsense video get millions of views or basic edit videos lol
@@justjumariwow haha. Under rated reply. The most expensive course too. Costs you your freedom. And the worst part? We all believe it’s for our benefit hah
