I know, I forgot about the scene where Goku was about to wipe Supreme Kai at the arena. I hadn't thought about that scene before I made this video, cause I thought it was funny how Buu nearly killed Beerus before they met and hated each other afterwards.
Quick question. Do you think Beerus would die if Shin died? Or do you think Elder Kai in the Z sword and now out of the Z sword plus Buu with Dai-Kai-O in him would prevent that? I’ve had this question ever since this rule was introduced. I know Shin is the OFFICIAL Supreme Kai, but there’s multiple of them. So how do they tie in?
@@Kaempfdog I think Beerus' urgency to protect the "Supreme Kai" was pointed towards Shin, despite Elder Kai being the one familiar with Beerus. Shin officially took over as Supreme Kai, for whatever that means as a Kai. Even Elder Kai, due to the way he treats Shin, would see that Shin IS the Supreme Kai
Dead soul to beerus: hey how did you die? Beerus: I died peacefully in my sleep. Dead soul: that's a nice way to go. Beerus: unlike the untold number who were killed by a giant piece of gum man baby
@@somedudewatchintv5297it's to make balance, creation and destruction. If god of destruction is evil enough to kill supreme kai without consequences. Then it's create as weakness when god of destroyer goes berserk and no one can stop it. They just make supreme kai die
@@malikplayman3520By this point Frieza could one-shot his Namek self in his first form so not the biggest accomplishment nowadays, especially with what happened with Frieza in the manga.
@@malikplayman3520Current frieza is the strongest(except beerus and whis, ofc) with his black form. He one shot UI goku and UE vegeta and I am sure he can thrash the Z-fighters too so, yeah. Beerus is in trouble if frieza ever finds out.
I know the video is about Supreme Kai almost dying to Buu, and it's a really good point, but it's overshadowed by the sheer delight of the clip of Buu licking all the pudding to spite Beerus. God, I love Buu so much.
Just to point this out; As we seen in the goku black saga, trunks mentions a threat in his universe and vegeta assumes its majin buu, trunks tells him he has already dealt with it and stopped him from hatching (they didnt even give him credit) But we never seen those moments happen until the history of trunks DLC for kakarot came out and as you know the trunks timeline is the original dbz timeline where everything was meant to happen. I'm not gonna spoil it I'd say you should just watch it for yourself if you havent but keep reading if you have At the end of the DLC we see Supreme Kai use the little amount of energy he has to freeze dabura for trunks to finish him off as he takes his last breathe after trunks finishes the job and we see in this clip here the supreme kai and beerus are a set meaning they share the same life, and if the supreme kai died in the original timeline..... holy hell man
if Frieza knew that, he probably would've went after the supreme kai before his training and then die, because the supreme kai is stronger than him. Frieza's father never warned him about the supreme Kai. that or he tries after his training, in which case, he could go to the realm of the kais. what's frieza gonna do then?
id imagine beerus would have had a fit if he found out supreme kai was putting himself in that much danger trying to stop majin buu. then again there was 4 supreme kais (for some reason). so guess he didnt imagine all 4 would have been taken out before hed awaken.
In the future timeline Shin actually dies at the hands of Dabura and Babidi, which in turn kills Beerus, which in turn prompts Black to start his plan in that timeline. If only Beerus did his job.
Goku: Whoa Wait! I just remembered! That one time, Buu almost crushed the supreme Kai when you were still asleep! Beerus: What?! When did-wait, Buu? Goku: Yeah! That pink squishy one you fought with over pudding! Beerus:...Whis, We're going back to earth right now. I need to prevent something from happening.
Kakarot:"No way! Is that true? So, if I wanted to defeat you, Lord Beerus, I'd just have to get rid of Supreme Kai, & that's it? That's crazy! I mean, not that I ever would! Where's the challenge in that?" Me:"Actually Kakarot, yes, you did! Remember when, you were about ready to fire at him, just for being in the way between you & Majin Vegeta in the World's Martial Arts Tournament as you requested Babadi to use his magic to send you guys back there?"
I like how Goku took more issue that killing Supreme Kai would be "cheating". He gave no fucks about straight up murdering the guy who is essentially the god of their universe.
@@obsidianfrost9514That’s good. I was wondering why he would mention wanting a better challenge and not the fact that he wouldn’t murder both his friends (Beerus and Supreme Kai)
@@lmaouwild Yup. In all honesty EN DUB probably cut down how many words he said to try to better match mouth movement. Tho they end up cutting some important info sometimes.
remember that time in the buu saga where goku basically held shin at gunpoint so majin vegeta could fight him so close to killing beerus way before he was introduced lel
@@naus_edits And also in Babidi's spaceship, before Vegeta got possessed, Vegeta held the Supreme Kai at gunpoint too, not only that Supreme Kai was also told to shut up.
@@thelastmlg2699 That’s because he kept getting in the way of the stars of the show having a fight. Goku and Vegeta were like… “Shut up you gay extra! We’re the stars! We can do whatever the hell we want! Why don’t you go home and cry to your mommy?!”
Beerus obviously didn’t exist canonically back then but it would have been cool if Beerus mentioned that he was having nightmares that his life was in danger while he was asleep during the Buu saga.
he is kinda mentioned when Elder Kai told Shin that there's a powerful "Evil" (maybe because of his destructive acts as a destroyer) being sealed him in the Z Sword and it turns out Beerus is the one who sealed him. But since Beerus doesn't exists the time when Dragon Ball Z was airing, yeah he's not canon at all (if you're going to lead the story towards Dragon Ball GT) but i think even in GT, Beerus exists but only he didn't fought Goku.
Buu is one of those threats that Beerus was supposed to deal with especially since he was after Supreme Kai I know he wasn't in the series yet but still lol
@@kindalllowder3595 I mean, his job is mostly just breaking shit. I suppose he thought that letting Buu do his thing just made that job easier and was unlucky enough to be asleep when Buu "fought" the Supreme Kai.
I've always wondered why Beerus is only life linked with shin. It could be that he's life linked with all of the supreme kai's, and if all of them die then beerus dies, but you'd think he'll be life linked with only the grand supreme kai. However, then again grand supreme Kai didn't get killed he just got absorbed.
@@theintelligentmilkjug944 Thats part of it, From what I heard when the grand supreme kai got absorbed, he was delinked and relinked with the next kai in line. Which would be Shin. Not sure if that's the canon explanation, but its what I think.
The funny thing is is that Shin is actually like really strong but everyone around him is just so much ridiculously stronger so he's practically made out of glass.
In other words, he's the Yamcha of the gods. Not even knocking on Yamcha. It's incredible just how strong he is. It's just that the people he hangs out with are so absurdly strong it beggars belief.
@@Mikazuchireborn there are other gods weaker than shin, such as king kai or thr other kais from the other galaxies. But unlike king kai, we saw Shin get bodied.
@bongcloudopening5404 I wonder where Mr. Popo is on the scale. The Earth Kami position seems to be a station for chosen mortals, while Popo seems to outlive them all.
it’s such a funny/great dynamic because we’re constantly reminded that beerus could just wipe out the planet whenever he wants yet characters like bulma, buu, goku, and whis all push him close to his limit
Fun fact: in the manga (and probably the anime too) this is the reason why trunks's timeline got so fucked up, there was no one to stop zamasu since shin did die in that timeline while trying to stop buu's revival which also happened years later because there was no one strong enough to have that much energy absorbed from them
The worst part about that arc is that it could have been completely subverted by Trunks asking one simple question before going back to the future. That question being "...so where is New Namek?" Trunks finds the location of New Namek, Bulma builds a ship to get to it after the androids are dealt with, goes to New Namek, and wishes on their dragon balls for the earth to be restored to before the androids attacked, and for everyone killed by the androids to be revived. Now Earth is back to normal, all the Z fighters except Goku (and maybe Vegeta) get revived, and Earth's dragon balls are restored, since Kami and Piccolo never fused. Trunks is still strong enough to kill Buu, same as in the original story, and if Shin dies, then the dragon balls could be used to revive him - and by extension, Beerus. (This might also lead to Beerus taking his job a bit more seriously since he just died, and potentially training Trunks to become a Super Saiyan God.) And since Beerus is alive, Zamasu's plan never sees fruition.
@@cyberginc9831 You misunderstand; I'm saying he asks during Z, just before going back to the future at the end of the Android saga. Not after Goku Black starts his ultra-genocide during Super. The whole reason for Goku Black choosing to start in Trunks' future specifically is because Beerus is dead in his timeline. And he's dead because Shin died during the fight with Buu. If Trunks found out where Namek was during the Android saga, he could've restored the earth using their Dragon Balls and revived everyone who died - and if that didn't revive Kami and Piccolo (since they didn't fuse), then he can bring Dende back to become Earth's guardian. Either way, Earth gets a new set of Dragon Balls, so even if Future Shin dies, he can be brought back - thus Future Beerus would still still be alive and the Zero Mortals Plan is stopped before it even starts.
He almost demoted the entire divinity of the 7th Universe... He killed all kais but shin, kibito w'd die, he probably w'd attempt to use the Z-sword ans w'd die with elder kai too. This means all kais w'd be dead. with that beerus also passes away, with that Whis is deactivaded from his role. The grand kai, and the regular kais aren't enough to do anything tho, and the planetary gds as kami w'd be no problem. buu w'd wipe out even afterlife... Myabe only when grand priest noticed, then 2 things w'dve happened: 1 - The order in the universe w'd be restored witha kai beying promoted to supreme kai, and a new destroyer apointed, restoring the divinity from the top to bellow and the mortal power 2 -Zeno w'd just destroy the verse.
@@kukukukukuku7244 You guys underestemating shin, the dude was almost as strong as Namek saga Full power frieza, so when beerus sleeps, frieza was he only known mortal that has peak power in universe 7 before buu.
@@GeoedQueen The Kaios are also all relatively weak in all of the Universes. Imo its a terrible flaw considering how many people could just eradicate them with ease and also get rid of the god of destruction that way.
@@GeoedQueen it's still a massive flaw considering how little the Kais are protected. Not just in universe 7s case. Plus Kais are very limited in Number. Buu already came close to killing Beerus as a result (and beerus stupidity with elder Kai also cut him off as a replacement should have shin also died). And sure a Kai can be replaced. A god of destruction not so much. A Kai is just being born every X amount of years aprox but a God is tricky. You have to find a proper candidate who is capable of wielding the power of destruction, has the correct mindset and then also has to be trained and the proper potential. Like in U7 the only option right now would be potentially vegeta. Freezer doesn't have the mindset and Goku does not want to be a destroyer.
Honestly I was expecting the scene from the World Martial Arts tournament; when Goku threatened to dome the kai, when he started getting in-between him and Vegeta! While Buu bouncing on Shin was probably close to killing him. I'm pretty sure he was closer to peeing his pants with SSJ Goku feet away charging that blast.
Buu wasnt killing them after absorbing. He was feeding himself with their energy, so destroyers should live without problem. This same with Perfect Cell. Cell only killed people for their blood to get stronger, but after he got someone stronger he wanted to merge with them.
@@littlemoth4956 it's his own dna and he has both namekian cells for regeneration as saiyan cells to become stronger from being injured so he could get an infinite smoothy hax by drinking himself, giving himself endless energy and biomass
@@youtubestudiosucks978 Cell's goal of absorbing 17 and 18 was rooted in the fact that Dr Gero couldn't install the Infinite Energy Reactors into Cell himself. I wonder, even if Shin died during the Buu saga and they revived him later with the dragonballs, would Beerus come back to life as well? That could be a good 'what-if' path for a dragon ball GT story if Beerus stayed dead.
i don't think so their deaths may be tied together but that doesn't mean their births are, the kais are a single race whose only purpose to to be a kai, the gods of destruction are chosen from already existing mortal races in each universe as we know so far.
But, the current Supreme Kai was one of 4 Kais, North, South, East, and West. And then there was Dai-Kaio above them (the fat guy Buu absorbed). This doesn't quite make sense...
Beerus would most likely be linked to the leader of the supreme Kai's Dai-Kaio But when Buu absorbed him, the link was severed, as him being now a part of Buu. And the link thus transferred to the last remaining supreme Kai, Shin.\ No death happened, so Beerus didn't die.
If Akira Toriyama dies, we so too, became saddened. Unfortunately, it's time, he died at the age of 68. Rest in Peace legend, the whole world will remember you ✌🏻
It's easy to kill supreme kai you are kidding for that your power level atleast would be near super Saiyan 2 Goku to kill him because shin power level is 200 million during buu saga. That mean shin has strength of 40 million human beings.
I don't think Shin was connected to Beerus here. I think it was old Kia in the Z-sword that was life linked to Beerus. Beerus got pissed off at him for some reason and decided that sealing him away was the best way to protect himself and get his kicks or whatever. The disappearance of the Supreme Kai caused an imbalance, and the tree that bears Kais to life started trying to fill in a perceived empty Supreme Kai position. But since Beerus was still connected to old Kai, the tree was confused and kept spitting out supreme Kai's to fill it and each one failed to link to Beerus which caused the loop to continue. This is why I think the universe had so many Supreme Kais, all of which had little education on what they are actually supposed to be doing. Beerus didn't care about them because they weren't linked to him, and no one was there to teach them otherwise. When old Kai passed his life force to Goku, is when the link passed from old Kai to Shin, and Beerus was properly linked to the new Supreme Kai.
The only consistency is toriyamas hate of vegeta as he makes vegeta lose every main battle even when it's clearly going to be his win especially the vegeta vs golden frieza and vegeta vs Moro toriyama really showed his I hate vegeta crap by giving frieza and Moro instant plot Armour at the end of there fights against vegeta.
So what happens when the Supreme Kai role gets passed onto someone else? Does Beerus just lose his job? What about when Supreme Kai fuses? Is Beerus just... Like... Shoved into the nearest being with the ability to fuse and forcefully mixed with their body?
both questions were answered in the anime. >the title used to belong to the Old Kai that was trapped inside the sword, but Shin took over and it's mentioned in the anime that he and Beerus are now linked instead of Beerus and Old Kai >the fusion thing is irrelevant; they only share a life link. if Shin fuses with someone, then he is linked to that fusion, since it has Shin in it
This was always kinda weird, that they made Destroyers so insanely powerful but Supreme Kais were just... mediocre. I mean, they were still veeeery strong when compared to many characters, but let's be real, most DBZ post-Cell Sayians could crush them.
the power scaling is off the walls man lol my personal opinion is that it would be interesting where characters with positions of power aren't necessarily the strongest you could say that of King Kai, any of the kaioshins. but it's all very confused because Dragon ball universe just keeps on adding hierarchy instead of extending the universe laterally... and Super can't even keep its consistency straight. So, idk.
Whis: "If the Supreme Kai of a universe dies then the Destroyer of that universe dies with him." Goku: [Thinks back to the Buu Saga when he threatened the Supreme Kai]
Biggest plot hole they created for the series 😂 Even if Beerus was asleep the entire time, you'd think Whis would wake him him and deal with the threat
I'll bet Whis didn't even know supreme Kai could have died because he was too busy cleaning Beerus's bedsheets. Would be hilarious if he went to change the bedsheets and find Beerus missing. "Whoops, I guess Supreme Kai died."
I'd like to imagine Beerus woke up with a back ache and knew what happened when he woke up. But didn't want to tell anyone that he almost died in his sleep like a grandpa so he kept it on the downlow. Whis would probably have been watching but thought it too amusing to intervene
They are probably going to do something similar to the Zenos to sink them below SSJ levels. It always starts with "we are serious top-gods who can't be surpassed in any way" and ends up with "Duurh, I'm a silly little side character who got owned by SSJs who trained under 500G for 6 months!" That's how they turned Beerus from the feared god of destruction to a silly housecat who could only sit idly by while the Saiyans overpowered him under 2 years.
Bullshit. As if Beerus would allow Kai to fight Buu and nearly die. Whis would be spying on that shit and teleporting, takimng action instantly. This was obviously an asspull by Tori.
than Zeno have to destroy the universe. because by the time he check it out. there's hardly any life in it anymore. and all he can see is a crazy child breaking everything in it's way.
@@rickydiscord7671 i was thinking more along the lines of supreme kai being the universe's life support and if he dies it just poofs into nothing on its own.
