It's strange that they tried to keep kids away from her as if she wasn't part of one of the biggest children's franchises of all time. Everybody already knows she's amazing lol I guess they didn't want her to get distracted?
I am 100% unsurprised that Peter Capaldi is such a kind and considerate person. He has been very vocal about sexism on television, and he also vetoed a photo shoot where Jenna Coleman (I think) was put in a submissive pose. He pointed out the absurdity of the pose, the message it projects, and they had to change it. He has also been a Whovian since he was little and I think he said he was the in charge of the Doctor Who fan club at one point. Such a great thing to be able to say "I was saved by the Doctor" ^_^
Yeah, I know a couple who went on there, and the producers come up with a story for you, and they were paid $200, free trip there, free hotel room, and some vouchers to bowl and stuff😂
In the mid-80s I was an extra on the movie "American Flyers." I was about to graduate H.S. and leave Colorado for film school in CA. I kept hanging around the director (who I really admired) and wanted to watch them run the crane shots, etc. One of the A.D.s said that I must be bored and that I should go talk to the one young actor that was standing around nearby. I let him know I'd already had a conversation with that guy and that this was more interesting. That young actor was Kevin Costner... when I saw him in his breakout movie 2 years later ("No Way Out") I was like, "Oh that's the guy I talked to back in Colorado!" I saw him once a few years later (as I finally was working in the industry) and he had already become a diva lol.
I was an extra on the movie Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds and I thought it was pretty crazy how anyone can be an extra. They dont do background checks or anything. Also the PAs are the "security" for set and random people would literally walk on or walk through the set in between takes when the PAs weren't looking. You would think with someone as famous as Ryan, there would be stricter security measures in place.
Wow...I believe that Katherine was a diva. My only diva experience in background acting was when Don Cheadle made all the extras wait for the next light so we weren’t crossing the street at the same time as him to go to set 🙄 Get over yourself Don. Nobody cares
Extra for a crowd scene. Walked by a bank of video screens. Paused to look at the monitors and a guy invited me to have seat next to him asking me questions like what shot looked better, etc. Didn't know until later that the guy was the director. LOL
How did that Jerry Springer girl not understand whats going on... Ofc course the producers just want to piss you off and get a reaction, did you not watch the show before you signed up?
That tiny snapshot of Lily James seems petty. We don’t know what kind of conversation she was having on her phone or even what the relationship was between her and the makeup artist. Maybe it was one of her worst days. And here we all sit judging her because someone witness a bad moment and thought she should tell everyone online. I don’t know Lily, I wasn’t a part of the conversation, so imma reserve my judgment. We’re too quick to do that these days.
Decades ago, when Johnathan Brandis was still alive and on Seaquest DSV (about 11 or 12 years old), I remember seeing the room he hung out in between takes. The wall was covered with the most graphic corn magazines I'd ever seen. It made me feel so sad for him that adults around him encouraged that. Needless to say, Johnathan unalived himself a few years later.
I was an extra for the movie Forces of Nature. I was a customer in a gay strip club and got to watch Ben Affleck strip. I was paid about $200, which covered about 4 hours of therapy I needed afterwards.
One of the things about darker skinned people end up having their make up darkened because they will wash out in the lights. And if you play a younger version of the lead, they’re going to make you look closer in skin tone. I’m an Italian American with dark skin who is always having to get my skin lightened.
@@theeccentric7263 Well yeah, but she mentioned that her facial features were spot on. I guess it is easier to make someone appear darker than to change someones facial features with make up. But they should have told her in advance!
That doesn't surprise me at all about Katherine Heigl. She seriously needs to humble herself and have an attitude and reality check on her behavior towards people.
This isn't about me being an extra, Richard Fictner(sp) is from a town close to where I live, I saw him when he was home for the holidays at one of the local malls, now the only mall. He actually came up to me and my friends. We all loved the show Mom and we were talking about the show. Adam had just made his debut as Bonnie's boyfriend, and we were all agreeing that Adam's character would be gone before he got a wardrobe. He comes up behind me and my friends are giving me various shut up signals. I kept talking crap and all of a sudden I almost crapped my pants when he asked to join us and started to ask me why I thought that. I made him laugh when I said that Bonnie is bat💩 crazy and I can't see her in a relationship.
Do you happen to know how to become a movie extra? I want to make a bit more money and also do you happen to know anything about getting into voice acting?
Why is one of them upset that the makeup artists made her skin color darker with makeup if it were in character for the part to match someone else? Strange.
All I can say is the makeup artists were absolutely just trying to match her skin tone to the other actress, not offend anyone. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I enjoy the illusions created by tweaking reality to make something else feel more real. If they didn't use makeup, then they probably would've used photoshop, or another actress anyway... Still should've told her, but maybe it was in a contract or something. 🤷
Well, as a kid I was an extra (along with my mom and sister) in a movie called Cross of Fire. That is how I learned what the KKK was as that is what the movie was about and I'm from Kansas - "the free state" ... we don't have that here. We were a destination to freedom on the underground railroad. I will never understand why they filmed a movie like that in our state or who decided it was a good idea and green lit that but hey. I was like 8 years old, watching other kids wear the robes and hoods and making snowcones and shit like that as Klan kids. I wasn't a Klan kid though... thank God.
i was an extra for Heathers the show, Black-ish, Santa Clarita Diet, The Conners, and 911, some of em multiple x and maybe im missing one haha. The funnest time was when on Santa Clarita Diet we were playing high school students and all we had to do was wear backpacks and goof off in a hallway set that looked so realistic there was even fake gum on the walls and dents in the locker lol. Really cool. Anyway, they separated us into lil groups based in our bday months so me and 2 others were December. This super funny redhead who was young-looking but in her 30’s (i was 21 at the time.) and then this cute skater boy who was 19. Mannnn we had a special bond that day cuz the lady vented to us about her ex-husband she just divorced and at first it was like man she’s talking too much 🙄 but then u realize it’s actually some juicy gossip 😂 in between a take- she whips out a brownie 👀 & was like: yall wanna split this? It was a fun day. Highly ;) recommend doing some bg work if u havent 😂 pun intended! I’ll throw in another story - my first xtra job was for “Heathers” and the show got cancelled for good reason 😂 So a bunch of us girlies were 18TPY (18+ to play younger) I was 18. We were playing middle schoolers and doing a scene where we were at a bar going on DATES w senior citizen meN 🤢🤢 I know!! A lot of the old-er- men did NOT know how to behave!! They were going for that edgy dark humor like the 80s movie but it just didn’t deliver and we were uncomfy that whole set 💀 it still was fun tho 😂 The ginger gay guy on the show is so funny and was carrying that dang show hahahha. And the food was deliiiicioussss
@@kissit012 What do you mean by it’s not irony ?I meant that it was ironic that in a show about Race and has a woman who turns from Black to white they turned a real actor from Light skin to dark skin IRL which shows a level of insensitivity when they could have left her light or hired an actual dark skinned actress.
I landed one paid background job my entire 4 months in LA, right? It was over a 12 hour filming day, 98% of it was spent in the holding room, we got a bottle of water and light craft services after the main cast. I made $64 that day. Loved every freaking second of it, seriously. Had a blast. The show was Up All Night, doesn't exist anymore.
Back in 2007 I was an extra in a small movie that was absolute garbage, but meant the world to me at the time. One day of shooting, $85. So much money for teenage me! Have no idea what the average was or is lol
kind of not surprised on lily james now cuz of the whole pam anderson movie deal , althuogh really i can totally understand the story doesnt make her out as a bad person at all. we're all rude sometimes, none of us are perfect and you dont know what she was texting about
They make up artist making her darker was right because she’s supposed to be the younger version of the main character. They basically just needed her features and I’m sure they made her the same shade as the main character.
My uncle worked on the set of criminal minds he was in charge of making sure actors don’t take props from the studio when one of the actors gets into an argument with with the tv producer and kicks the producer out of his chair 🪑 and the whole set was shocked. and my uncle told me the tv show abc starting Nathan fillion bullied his tv show love interest verbal abuse to her and other staff members and everyone said he was the biggest bully. My friend worked on a movie as a back up dancer for a dove Cameron girl was telling the director what to do standing in the shots she wasn’t supposed to be in flirted with my friend husband and she treated all the extras badly
It's funny because there are videos of alot of people saying how mean Katherine heigl is Christina Aguilera and I guess you think because of the things they do you would think the opposite.
I was an extra on a movie called The Getaway, starring a trigger happy Baldwin and Kim Basinger. I was on set for 5 days and witnessed this myself as I was asked to bring a case of water to her trailer. She had her dog on set and gave the dog a bath every day and would only use bottles of EVIAN to wash and rinse the dog. Not even the best part. like I said I was on set for 5 days and there is a scene where im sitting in a chair at the horse track so its lower than the main level, im facing out and the scene is camera pointing at her getting the track behind her, during the scene she sits down on the back of the chair...I just so happen to be the head that her ass was propped against. the scene took several retakes and i got paid to have her sit her ass against my head for a few hours.
@@XxHaylster98 i really can't remember them all i did a lot i was just out of drama school ...as a kid i did a film about princess diana ...i did game of thrones ..p.s i love you ..leap year (awful film) breafast on pluto i got to meet ruth negga who is super nice but its really boring usually and actors are all business on the job ..pretty boring they have to be as they are being paid so much ...its just dull ..no one was ever nasty tho
