I trully get that, and I am here to tell you that they actually do. When we think this pain will never go away, it goes. When we think we are worthless and never can be trully happy again, we can. You, me and everyone else who deep inside knows that this is the right way to go can and will achieve anything we aim. And yes, we are worthy, unique and starting over, even with love, is possible. The most important thing now is to seek for support. Emotional and professional. Take care of yourself and keep your close ones around. Trust me, It will get better. I´ve been there, and also got lost in the beginning, with a pain that I believed no one else could feel... But life turned out so much better now! Focus on yourself. I know it is very hard, but it slowly works. Try a little bit more everyday, do something good for you. Even if it´s really hard to believe, trust me when I say you will get it. Please be safe, talk to someone, share your pain, vent and search for professional support during this time. I am sure you get this!

@Musisi Elvis honestly, you're valid in the way you feel. I get it. If I can offer some advice from someone who has just gone through/currently going through the motions of a long term relationship break up: focus on finding ways to show up for yourself. Be your own advocate, lover, and bestfriend. This may sound cynical but you are the only person who will show up for YOU 100% of the time. Be happy in your own company, follow the beat of your own drum, and along the way you will find your tribe again. I would also second the suggestion of seeking professional help if you are feeling extremely depressed. Some times we have to lean on the professionals when things get too much, and that is okay. My gf broke up with me after 12 years, I'm 30. On our final weeks, before I knew what's going on, she started seeing this dude and hidding/lying to me about it. I totally understand what you feel. I've been through something similar and what I've learned is that we repeat patters that lead us to bad experiences and we need to learn how to break these patterns. We cannot change others, but we can change our attitude towards them. And that is why I honestly think you are on the right way asking yourself that question. You are not the problem, definitely not! But there are things we can certainly do to avoid falling in the same pattern. Sometimes we are not able to see red flags or even if we see them, we ignore them, for many different reasons.
