"This golf lesson completely transformed my short game. My chip shots around the green were terrible. I would get so nervous I'd grab the putter where I can. This chipping technique was so easy to understand I was able to take it straight to the golf course." Tom after a short game golf lesson with Danny Maude.
We could all improve our short game and in this golf lesson Danny Maude reveals two golf swing faults that ruin the chip shots and pitch shots of golfers nationwide.

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On RU-vid and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight.If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing

Hey guys - it’s Tom here! This chipping lesson with Danny has completely transformed my game. I don’t struggle with distance so am regularly around the green in regulation but often walked off with double/triple due to poor short game….not anymore though!! Thanks a million, Danny! 🙏🙌

Great lesson here. Reversing the hands to level the shoulders from a few weeks back has been the key for me. Need to work on the landing spot and visualisation - as the round goes on I can lose that element pf the pre shot routine. Thanks for all the superb teaching in 2023 Danny. Happy New Year to you and yours.

Fabulous results and simple explanation. Stereotypically we overlook this part of the game because we all want to stripe our driver. This is where the differences between a birdie and a double bogey can often be made. Thanks Danny great as always

This is now, after 50 years has become my Achilles !! At the moment at any given shot I have no idea where the ball will go!!! Then for weeks ( I play twice a week) no problems then bang poop again. It's now got to the stage of " flight or fight" and I've chosen fight. So it's of to Spain for 2 months no real golf but just practice the swing thoughts you have demonstrated and, when I get back I'm moving clubs and starting afresh. After watching another great video which this matches .I realised my technique was so wrong that i had simply been getting away with for years till it started to fail badly.I now chip cack handed which stops lead hand breaking down and levels my shoulders.Key then is to take a longer backswing as mine was too short and quick with focus simply on hips and shoulder rotation where i am now using bounce.I practise using two drills which teaches me the use of bounce.First is to place a coin an inch or so behind ball and pick up coin with ball when play shot.Second drill, i play multiple balls usually two but i have chipped 4 balls with one swing believe it or not and what it gives me is confidence which was destroyed playing with a bad technique.Another great Vid Danny which has cemented my belief i am on right path many thanks.Mike Scotland

Fantastic video as always Danny. Simple, concise and easy to follow. Biggest point here is 70% of the weight on the front foot. I was that same guy who would pull out the putter every time to reduce the risk of a fat or thin shot that would cause a double bogey. I got fairly decent with those putter shots but not as consistent as I needed to be. This is exactly where we throw away so many shots that keeps our handicap high. This lesson is the perfect compliment to the recent lesson you did for 60-85 yard pitch shots which was incredibly helpful because I also would shank them at least once a round.

Great video Danny. It's interesting that Tom mentioned cricket, his grip looks like he is holding a cricket bat which I think is contributing to his shoulders naturally going back to the lead being higher. It's very difficult to not resort to what has developed naturally over many years.

"Just like a cricket shot" - I played cricket for nearly 50 years before I started playing golf. Now I see why I have such inconsistency with my chips around the green. Great video, but can you do the same but from a rough lie around the green. Most of the time for me, I’m 3 yards off the green with the grass half way up the ball. Tufts of grass in front of the ball can also be an issue. Striking the ball becomes more difficult. Thanks Danny.

His grip is strong. I have a similar grip. I weaken my grip on my chips to get the club leaning less forward and use bounce more. When his grip goes back to strong his trail shoulder drops. I would do the same thing.

A weaker grip is certainly easier to chip with

So which club do you use, a 9 iron or lob wedge?
@DanielMaude
@DanielMaude 5 месяцев назад
When you want the ball to stop quicker because you don’t have a lot of green between you and the flag go with loft. If the you have a lot of green between you and the flag you now have options. 9 iron works

Wonder if Matt Fitzgerald was doing the reverse hand practice and just decided to adapt it as his chipping setup?

I have a serious YIP on chips. It started when i raised the handle and tried to chip like a putt. How would i get out of it .? Sometimes I am ok but over all it is horrible.
@DanielMaude
@DanielMaude 5 месяцев назад
Usually Yips occur as a byproduct of being out of position approaching impact. Your hands react to strike down on the ball. Check my chipping videos out and make sure you are set up correctly at the start

Great lesson but couldn't help noticing the 2 deer that walked by in the distance and the sound of the 'Call to Worship' at the end.
