Opposite here. I'm 46 so they say my eyelids must be hooded, so I purchased 5 sets of eyelid tapes. You tubed to apply a set and realized they are to make my eyelids the way they already have been all these years.

I'm sooo happy to get your response! As you know, us East Asian girls(I'm Chinese) have a different makeup style than western beauties. We use more neutral colors, less conturing to achieve a sheerer/more bubbly look. If we do the standard western makeup on our faces, it can sometimes look too harsh, due to our flatter bone structure. The beauty standard is vastly different over there lol. However, what I am asking is to show us what you would do, instinctively, on an Asian face. Like what would you do to make the eyes look more open and awake, and the complexion more youthful and healthy? Never mind what the standard "we like it Asian" routine is! Thank you for doing this for us, I really appreciate all your work!

I love monolid tutorials for eye makeup. although it looks slightly different on hooded eyes, I still think it looks good, and better than trying to follow tutorials for people with lid space.

I have very hooded eyes, almost monolid and can still do a flicked eyeliner. It's not true hooded eyes cannot do eyeliner, just applied differently.

It might be ptosis or maybe ur sleeping too much/hard on the droopy eyed side of ur face, sleeping too much on your right side can make the skin and muscle on the upper eyelid weaken and droop after a while

Now I know why when I apply eyeshadow that it never looks right, because I have hooded eyes. I won't worry about it much because I only wear makeup maybe twice a year if that!

Thank goodness, it's been long overdue to state that the cat eye flick won't flatter every eye shape, but it's so common now though. Sometimes all the focus on is the prominent black curved up liner which can be harsh, particularly on very light skin tones, and winds up unintentionally detracting from the beauty of the eyes' color and shape.

So I was getting ready for my school play and there was a girl helping with my makeup who said I was hooded eyes. I’ve looked into that since now and my eyes are SUPER hooded, but they’re still big and round so eyeliner still looks good on me

I am indo-tibetan mix so i have a kind of eye which looks like monolid form distance and when ever i laugh or smile but when u look closely i have heavily hooded eyes. Left one is more hooded than the right one😫😫

I don't bother with eye liner. It just makes me look startled anyway. I just use a darker shadow along the lash line. Looks much better.

I have hooded eyes, but I have enough space on the outer edge of my lids to draw eyeliner noticeably. However, it has to be lined up close to my lashes and thin.

I appreciate you sharing.❤ At the same time. I don't like what you did to her eyes-- I am not into the smokey look. I guess I have hooded eyes and I didn't know it. That would explain why I struggle to get the line to look good. I can do it though. I have people make comments on how much they love my eyes. The liner has big impact. Gotta do your cat eye very precisely and not too thickly. Also gotta apply eyeshadow higher up on your eyelid than what you normally think you would so it can show better

Well you can still use eyeliner like picasso and smudge it out with your fingers or a pencil afterwards, so it gets that smokey-look. -when you smudge it, do it in direction toward your eyelashes, it can't go wrong.

I wake up early to go to work, so I put on my makeup on my train ride there which takes an hour. I can't put anything on straight, because the train shakes >.< -a bit stupid, I ended up with a thinner left brow, because I plucked it on board the train!
