I have a Sigma 28-70/2.8 that is completely suitable for most tasks. Covers almost all focal lengths that suit me. Yes, it is not entirely cinematic, but the picture is of high quality. Moreover, if you install a MIST filter, it will be more soft. 28-105 will be even more versatile for many tasks. Here's what I can't decide on yet - this is a convenient lens for VLOGING for the Lumix S9. Panasonic 20-60 is probably dark for vlogging. So if your friend has any options, I’d be glad to know. Thank you

this lens looks incredible. the range is crazy. i really wish we could normalize internal zooms though. price would probably be through the roof though. great vid dude! maybe we can hang out sometime and you'll let me use this lens

This lens should sell some units. Great speed + range. I recently got the Samyang 35-150 2.0 - 2.8 and have been loving it, but the Sigma is pretty sweet. L-mount Alliance is strong !

I had no idea this one was coming, it looks ace! I guess the only really downside is that it's a kilogram. I'm just waiting on the S1H ii or whatever it's gonna be called now, that combo would be heavy but should be an amazing cinema beast!

@@fearkillwrite that is one of the downsides of this lens. I do wish it was stabilized, but that would accentuate the other big issue I have with this lens, and that is the size

Thanks for the review. Too big and heavy for me, and I suspect not as good optically as the Lumix 24-105. Lumix S bodies are already fairly noise free at higher ISOs, so I can’t see the benefit of sacrificing optical quality for a bigger iris.

Yeah it is very big and with that range I do miss the OIS, but it’s good to have options 🙂

@@ReachFilms DG DN for SIGMA just classifies if it’s full frame and mirrorless or not. They still have classes beyond that (contemporary, art and sport)

I wish it would have came out about 6 months ago before I bought the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8. I would rather have the 28mm instead of the 200mm. Then I would only have to take one lens. What’s your thoughts about the pros/cons these two lenses?

I mean i personally love having the reach BUT if you rarely use the telephoto end of the lens, it may be worth switching them out for this lens. what camera are you using it with?

I would say so far I don’t use all the way to 200mm, more like 135-150mm for sports. Which means I have to switch lenses out if I want any wider shots. It’s a tough call since I have already purchased the 70-200mm and it is a great lens. I am using it primarily with the Leica SL and on occasion with the Sigma FP.

@@BryanSLawler yeah if you’re using it for sports, I would stick to the 70-200, or even look at the lumix 28-200 if your don’t mind a slower aperture
