***NOTE: I know this is long but hopefully it is worth the read. :) best way to explain the thinking effecting your outcome is that if you think a certain way, you will prepare for that eventuality you expect and miss out on or have what you need to take advantage of opportunities when they occur, as well as your perception can be muted to possibilities because you solidly think "no way" so you hesitate and miss out, while if you have a positive view of things you could also jump when there is not a solid opportunity and waste resources so when one does happen you are now lacking in the means to take advantage of one, also someone gives up a lot sooner if they have a dire view of things, while those who have a positive but also CRITICAL view to use the info available to make a smart decision, they will also be more likely to pivot and keep pushing through to that success. One example I remember ages ago seeing was that of a self targeting missile, in that it is always off target till it hits the target. It hits it's target by constantly ADJUSTING its trajectory, from OFF target to ON target, till it gets to the target. This is more effective than a missile that doesn't adjust, because the environment (like even a little gust of wind) will cause a perfectly aimed shot to miss, but the seeking missile can see it is being blown off course, say by wind, and adjust on the way. That is how a successful person is, constantly adjusting their course until successfully hitting their goals.

I would start investing in rental properties as well, maybe wait for prices to dip first, but you should be able to build deposits quickly while living where you are. You probably already know this, but don't use your job income to buy things, use your returns from investments to buy things. If your returns aren't enough, you need to invest more.

That means that whether you're 30, 40, or 50, you can start a new career in the same amount of time, or even less, considering that you have so much life experience. If you could achieve great things in the past (getting the job you want, promoted, etc.), what's stopping you from doing the same now?

- 14% into 401(k) + 4% match or 18% then into Roth when 401(k) maxes out - separate emergency account with 4.5%APY - maintain a credit card balance no longer than a month. - pay more than required on all debt bearing accounts. I picked up this strategy a couple years ago. Haven’t 100% adhered to it, but hit about 80-90% of the target. It was tough at first but retirement has ballooned and surplus equals financial safety and security.

One good thing that I’m doing is investing in education. Finally graduate next month with BA in Sociology then go to Law School. But at age 47 alone with a lot of responsibilities and two kids things is a little bit more challenging! Also, I learn to have a short goals to set a better life! The big challenge is learn how to not be poor! Nobody at school teach you how to survive but with your amazing videos we learn how to make the best decisions to have a better life!

I’m really trying to learn as quickly as possible unfortunately I have been diagnosed with heart failure and I probably won’t have much time, unfortunately. I would like to invest somehow but also have $$ to enjoy little life I may have left, I would love to travel a bit and really enjoy my life. However, not sure If I should be thinking long term due to being unsure how long before my heart fails me. I feel screwed no matter what 😢but im really trying to be positive and believe I’ll Be around for a good time. So sorry everyone for the sad story Felt like venting..I really want to do this! What should be the best thing to jump into? I’m so confused! I wOuld like to enjoy life, & make quick dollars and save for rainy day somehow..Is this even possible in my predicament?

I am living below my means because I’m so used to living on nothing that these paychecks every week are a true blessing

Great video Jaspreet! You mention auto-investing every week into S&P500. I live in Canada and my brokerage account (RBC direct investing) does not offer this option. I have looked at other major banks here and they don’t really have this option. Not sure if this is a regulatory issue over here. But do you know a brokerage in US which offers this automatic investing for Canadians?
