Nice video, thanks for the tips! Can I ask you one thing? We are going to spend just 1 day at DC. Our flight arrives at 7am at Dulles Airport, and we need to be back at the airport around 7 or 8pm. I've booked a rental car to get to the National Mall and see the landmarks, because we are going to have our luggage to carry, and we are traveling with my 4-year-old kid. My plan is to park the car near the atractions using Spot Hero, and use the DC Circulator many times to optimeze our walking time as we have few time to see everything. What do you think is the best strategy for us, regarding transportation? We want to see few landmarks, and maybe a quick visit to National Historic Museum
My opinion is to not use the rental car. It will waste too much time. I would take too much time and cost too much. If it were me, I would take the metro to the Smithsonian stop. Then get out and walk from the Washington monument to the Lincoln monument (eat at the little cafe and the Lincoln). A 4 yr old could probably handle that but would be tired by the end. At the point, hop on the circulator and do the full loop to give you guys a rest. Then hop off at MLK monument and walk to Jefferson memorial. If you have any extra time, or what to see other things, use Uber. It will save you tons of time. You could take it to the front of the US capitol (big pond out front) or the White House (Lafayette square) to get some pictures. Then metro back to the airport. Good luck!
Yes, I believe two children under 5 can travel with a paying adult for free. I'm unsure if you need a pass for them. You may want to check with the transportation department. Thanks for watching.
One thing worth mentioning. Some metro stations serve multiple lines, so don't assume that the next train arriving is the correct one. Check the electronic arrival board or the train itself to make sure it's going in the direction you need.
Once you find the end point of the line on the map, walk to the entrance to the metro, and you’ll see the end points listed. Just enter the one with the correct end point
@@WereintheRockies thank you!! Me & my best friend are spending 2 days in Baltimore, and then 4 days in DC. Metro is way cheaper! I'm a little nervous about the Metro 🚇:/ we're coming from TN:) Last year we did Vega's.
There are many! Use an app called Spot Hero. You can see the prices of the spots ahead of time and reserve it so it's ready and waiting for you. It's a game changer.
