First of all, I love the video. It was coo & it's cool. But that guy with Dread locs was right about saying that, it depends for what you have. Because some African American and Black for general are moving to Africa without plan or nothing and expect good, which is not good. These kind people who came without preparing them self, than after- starting saying that Ghana was bad or Africa. which is crazy. Be honest, be smart, be though & more when you come to Africa, Africa is beautiful.

Accra can get expensive indeed! Especially when shopping at Melcom, staying around the Airport (in Ghana you usually have to pay 1-2 years of rent UPFRONT and rent at some areas is high enough as it is) and go clubbing every weekend. However, if you get your groceries mostly from local shops, eat at home or at chop bars and are looking for a place to stay in areas like Dansoman, your money can go a long way. Problem is that most Westerners think they can live an upgrade of their old lifestyle for almost no money in Accra, which is not true. HOWEVER, the lower stress, more sun and good food are definitely worth it!

Since my brother is not willing to give up his business ideas. I will give you guys a few business ideas that has been tested proven to work in Ghana. 1. Poultry; layers. Ghanaians luv eggs. 2. Fintech; you don't have to be the developer just hire someone to create the app for you. All you need is marketing budget to push the app. 3. Logistics; bring in some second hand dump trucks and rent them. There always construction going on in Ghana. 4. Water/ice factory its always hot in Ghana and water is life.
@webelonginafrica44
@webelonginafrica44 4 месяца назад
You are so correct but in my area those 4 things have been over taken. There are 3 big poultry farms near my house and a big dump truck company at the main junction. also a water company is about 10 minutes away from my house. I’ll love to look into that app thing. That’s new to me. I haven’t heard much about that. I happen to be in a area full of hustlers lol

@@webelonginafrica44 is there an Ice factory in your area too because ice and cold room to store goods I find is a demand. When I was in Accra last December there was this guy selling ice to hotels, bars, schools and meat vendors. He would also lease cold storage units to the market vendors for them to store there goods so it won't spoil. And the funny thing is, he is still not meeting demand.

Bro, u should try and link up with our sister Jasmineaama on youtube, to take u guys to her beautiful hometown of Kwahu, not far from Accra(in the eastern reigion) she also lives in Tema, right outside Accra,(also not expensive to live). She has about 3houses already running Airbnb...u should have your brothers meet her, and see if she can bring u guys to the beautiful kwahu mountains...its one of the beautiful parts of Accra, with nice greenery, beautiful vegetation and the best weather, nice and cool, great place to live and save lots of money, but still can make a day trip to Accra and back, if traffic permits! Diasporans are missing out a lot on so many nice places to explore and live and even invest. All this Accra business is getting old! I am from Accra, and even a lot of us cant take it anymore.

@@webelonginafrica44 That part of Ghana is where most of Ghana's wealth is-from oil and gas to cash crop plantations. This means the place is teeming with expat businessmen and professionals like engineers, etc., so accommodation, leisure industry, and related services in general. Look up the Aboadze gas plant. I know people are buying up land with the aim of building accommodation that the companies and government can rent. Mind you, there is also an Airport, which means Accra and Kumasi are within easy reach, and Cape Coast is about 45 minutes away.
@rainbow3649
@rainbow3649 4 месяца назад
So much potential investment in Takoradi. I don't understand why diasporans are not exploring the country more! It's also our second port city, but still inexpensive to live in. Kwahu also has the best vegetation, greenery, nice cooler weather all year round, up the mountains, and cheaper. Eastern region, not far from Accra. U can check with our beautiful RU-vid sister, Jasmineama. Her family is from kwahu, but born in Australia, and has come home for good, she has videos of touring around there. Amelio, u should meet with her and see all the good stuff she's been doing in Tema, where she owns about 3 houses already for Airbnb, etc. These connections are the way to help our brothers and sisters from the states to get a better handle on the layout of the country, where potential investments are, where to live to not waste money, and can still be outside Accra, or not too far to travel to Accra. I get so frustrated when I see diasporans struggling and confused to figure out where to go, where to live, what to do for investment, etc. When all these places remain untapped! They should leave Accra alone, unless they have endless disposable cash, and don't mind the senseless traffic and concrete excessive heat. Labadi there is my hometown, but raised in Labone/Cantonment area, but I won't recommend "today's Labone" to anyone, since it doesn't look and feel anything like my/our beautiful, clean, quiet, and upper/middle class suburb! So so less populated, and not this expensive! Too much going on there now! Osu Oxford Street was not even called Oxford Street until recently, it had a,different name, and it was mostly about 90% residential, all up and down that whole street was residences, rich people big buildings that have been sold and turned into these hotels and restaurants. Some diplomats from embassies lived there, some lebanese and indian businessmen lived there, Some rich ghanaian businessmen abd their families lived there, some of their kids i went to primary school with, we just strolled along the street from Labone to what today, unfortunately has been turned into this crazy Oxford Street. Used to be beautiful clean, no traffic at all, so people used to cut through that street to travel faster. It was never this crazy marketplace and hotels and restaurants, to rob tourists, nightlife and choking with prostitution etc., not even about 12yrs ago! Our nightclubs used to be outside the suburbs but still in Osu area, or a bit further.This Oxford Street u are seeing at osu, was never in existence! It all started when they saw AAs coming in, to find a way to make money off of them! Please try and take your friends outside Accra a bit, to Nsawam where our youtube brother Zayloc is building his house, more land there, not too developed, and just outside Accra!
