As someone who is from Cape Coast Ghana, I would like to advise all viewers to watch this video with a pinch of salt. The videographer has done an amazing job highlighting poverty and suffering within this Central region town, but has failed to balance his video with the other realities of Cape Coast. The reality in Cape Coast is that some are suffering but others are not. I now understand why others are suffering, but did he highlight why some are doing well when the economy is suffering? Quite a few comments have pointed out the fact that this video, and many others on his page, perpetuates the same old rhetoric about African countries. I would like to provide some feedback; every country has its positives and negatives. When exploring a new area provide the audience with a more balanced, unbiased perspective that truly reflects where you have been.
@IndigoTraveller

@jarodwilson4946 Год назад
@@Festus714 your comment is ignorant, those people don’t have jobs, they don’t pay rent, and they don’t pay taxes, they live in a slum of transplants and many illegal transplants that cross the border illegally, every morning it’s huge traffic jams of thousands of cars with people going to work, some work as police officers, some work as teachers others working as doctors some people work at malls or at grocery stores and others in restaurants and hotels, and they come home and pay rent and taxes, that’s not glamor those are ordinary Ghanaians living and working in the beautiful city of Accra, and this white dude could interview taxpayers but he chooses to find a slum just to show the worst place in Ghana, but when he goes to white cities he goes to the best part’s. It’s call propaganda

I live in Cape Coast and this is very good depiction. Also my heart broke when those boys could not speak English. Don't get me wrong, I love local languages. Unfortunately it is English skills that are required for a good job and any chance of changing your faith. It's heart braking to see children failed by the education system. Also great comment from the gentleman that there needs to be more emphasis put to vocational and entrpreneurial skills.

I went to Cape Coast and all over Ghana in 2019. There is an art installation at the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, AL, USA where the artist is Ghanaian and the installation is based on the Cape Coast fort. Incredibly emotional. Ghanaians are super kind and very hard working. The hospitality was really warming even in the current economic climate. My trip was part of a five-country road trip from Ivory Coast through Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria.
