When I wake up, my cat is there sleeping near me, and no matter how "out cold" she is, or how quiet I am.......if I get up, she will literally wobble behind me with her eyes almost closed and immediately fall asleep the minute I stop walking around. My baby, a 14 year old male, is my soul mate. I had 2 cats before him, who died, I was in such grief, I had a feeling to look online and knew he was for me. He is black, had 4 black brothers, he was the shyest, I knew God sent him, maybe a reincarnation of my previous black cat. His other brothers were rambunctious, they tried to get me to adopt one of the others, they were 6 or 7 weeks old. I said no, this is my baby I was sent here for. I took him home that day 14 years ago, he sleeps with me, we spoon, he flops right over with his head on my pillow while I rub his belly. We sleep like that every night. We say our prayers. He's the best and a gift from God.

I would pat his exposed belly and say “ I got your belly.” Even as he got older . He passed in Jan 2024. His feline friend has taken over that routine. She’s more of a head butter and tail wrapping. She’s so chill and relaxed and constantly purring loudly!

Our cat is a ferral chum. She came to my daughter to practice miowing as she hadn't quite got the hang of it. However now instead of meowing (She leaves that for other cats when she is guarding her territory) With us she opens her mouth and looks as though she is having a long conversation, but not a sound escapes her lips. It took a year for her to come into our kitchen to eat. She looks female that's why we call her Princess, and she is to us. We don't know her history, but we think she must have been badly frightened. To us she is a present from heaven and we will be there for her always.

But that's rare. Then she slaps me in the mouth with her claws retracted. My Yoda likes sleeping near me or on my chest and pats my face with a paw, purring so loud you could hear him across the room. Bandit is a little more aloof but demands cuddle regularly. The both meow to me and i havent pooped alone in five years! My life is very much enriched by the presence of these amazing creatures. Anyone who says they dont like cats just doesnt know cats. I have a kitten who does the same thing. Every time I come in the door she wants to be picked up so I carry her with her little front Paws on my shoulder and she puts her little head next to mine. Sometimes we just go sit down and other times she's happy to get down and wait for dinner.
