As an apple fanboy who has grown bored with the same old routines, I'm really tempted to try one of these foldables. Coincidentally typing this on an s9 Ultra tab as the first step in an expirement to see how/if I can integrate other tech and platforrms into my workflow and daily usage.

@@Bruceneuman Buy both. :) I'm going to upgrade from iPhone 8 to iPhone 15 this year. But I'm also going to get a Flip 5 and a Motorola Ultra+. I like the iOS/MacOS ecosystem. But the fun features and small sizes are the big attraction for a secondary, run around phone.

Been with iphone since the 3G. Has been a bit of a pain now switching over, but after a couple of weeks im settling in. Really enjoying this z flip 5 so far. Here are some of the things i noticed; -Really love the placement and use of the fingerprint sensor. Faceid always annoyed me, no matter how good it worked. You had to aleays 'pop your face in line' but with the flip, its already unlocked before it's even at chest height. -off topic but wow, android does notifications so much better! Better organized. -I can run in my workout shorts and not worry like with my old pro max that it would fly out or have to adjust my shorts from the slab whipping them down lol. The z flip 5 closed has a great center of gravity. -LOVE playing and controlling my music from the cover screen. -battery life is not great, but adequate. -Camera takes good shots, more than good enough for me. -Zoom calls rock on this thing! Just prop up, its like a mini laptop. -Build quality is fantastic. Feels like a well built 'jewel box' in your hand. -flipping it shut to end a call is undescribably fulfilling to do! Lol Overall, very happy i made the switch. Would've only done it for a unique phone like this one.

Hey, love your video. You can actually add the battery icon as well. When you go into the widget from the open from settings, then you can just tap on the battery up on the top right and turn on the battery icon. And then it will show on whichever outside widget you use.

By the way, you can most definitely add a battery icon onto the cover screen! I had the 4 and moved onto the flip 5 and the cover screens are very customizable. Each wallpaper has it's own customizations, they don't all have the same options.

Correct. And as far as I can tell, the clean original wallpaper I am referring to in the video does not have this option.

Actually you can put a battery display on any of the cover screen wallpapers the customization on the cover screen is endless just keep messing with it and you will figure it out the cover screen you picked out Actually has the battery display on the top left square and the bottom square next to the clock can actually be changed to anything in your gallery

Have had 2 Flip 4s. First one completely destroyed when I dropped it on the hinge (found the sweet spot obviously). New one has a better case, so far, so good. Totally happy with the phone despite that difference as you say with copy/paste etc.

You can edit the cover screen wallpapers… I do it all the time..you can switch on the percentage on some of the wallpapers too. You can tap on the area of the pre set wallpapers then it will allow you to edit the color and pictures. Also you can add up to 9 so far gifs as wallpapers that changes automatically when you tap the front screen. I love it! I loved my Flip 4 but the 5 is just amazing for me. I’m having so much fun with it

Extremely interesting. I too was a hardcore apple user guy. Even using all their software and apple music and photos etc I actually switched to the zfold 3 and now have the 4. It's been fine. Took a few months but I'll don't think I'll go back. I still use an imac as my main computing device.

The ideal: a mostly-stock android foldable in this form factor (Samsung auto-installs are annoying) with a desktop mode. Efficient tasks when folded, media consumption & gaming when open, basic computer tasks and more gaming when docked.

I too decided to pick up the galaxy z fold 5. My iphone 13 pro max had become boring to use. Although I am still hoping that the iphone 15 shakes things up. So far I have enjoyed using the z fold 5.

I just got this phone. Im experienced user of both android and ios. I know it's a gamble with durability and longevity with flip phones as of now but I feel like this was the time to get it. I tend to not really close and open this phone when I'm at home in order to increase the hinge lifetime. I just leave it mostly open when I'm at home. Overall it's a fun phone and I recommend it.

The hardware is awesome and theres a couple of things in OneUI that are so helpful. But, it’s all the little things that just make the whole Android experience less workable. Poor applications, applications that dont run in the right aspect. Things that I use every day on iOS that arent as quick/easy to use on Samsung or other devices like Apple Home devices in the Control Centre and family reminders are so much easier and better looking.

Nope. I had to sell the Flip. It's a lovely phone but I do prefer the Fold and I can't justify holding on to 3 phones.

I told you Profesor Rambles, I cannot look back to non foldable phones. I am in Lima now, where thieves kill people to take their mobile phones. I am using a cheap phone and missed so much my Motorola Razr 5G 2022. The crisp with Motorola is less obvious and you have 'ready for' that is awesome, better than Dex. And it work with XReal Air glasses without installing anything. I hope you can review the latest Razr. I will upgrade when the new version comes. I don't like to pay full price anymore haha

Nice to see perspective of an iPhone user switching to Samsung’s folding phones. I had Samsungs for 7 years and then a pixel for two years but switched to the iPhone four years ago. I can’t say I’m biased towards either but I’m just curious of trying new mobile technology. I’m looking at going back to Samsung because of the form factor and am contemplating the Flip 5 because of its portability.

I just want a feature that will block all calls except from contact! My iPhone have this awesome feature. Which my z flip 5 doesn't have this feature. Other callers can still call me in the middle of the night or when I'm busy and I realised it's a wrong number. It's so annoying. The z flip 5 is a good phone but it doesn't have this "accept calls from contacts only" The moment I switch to my Z flip 5. So many annoying calls starts coming in to me. I had no choice but to switch back to my iphone 14. But i still keep my z flip 5.

I've had a few Samsung Flips in the past. What bothers me the most is the inner screen ratio, which is very long and narrow. Not the best for watching videos etc...

@PatrickRambles Just go into cover screen settings and press on that wallpaper, the option to add battery display will be in the top right. If that somehow doesn't work just create a new coverscreen with the same background then the option will 100% be there. I'm not quite which one you are referring to by the original wallpaper though.

If you want a thin case for the flip check out the later case. It's very thin its carbon fiber, made by unbox therapy on RU-vid. I think they even have multiple colors😮

The z fold 5 is a much better choice for me... since I mostly use my phone for movies and TV show watching... I no longer watch actual television... no cable bill... I have unlimited data.. and directv... on my phone... and my phone becomes its own hot spot.. to play my Nintendo Switch Oled... free wifi.. wherever I go.. Cinema HD... is great on the portable tablet.. in my back pocket... the z fold 5 is the best.

The only thing that bugs me the most about Samsung are the damn bloatwares! I know there are hacks to remove them but Samsung should give consumers the option to uninstall them. This is especially after shelling out $1000!

If you're using a mostly Apple ecosystem, you'll never keep these phones. You need to move to Windows it has the same ecosystem as Apple but you can't have one foot and one and one hand in the other. It'll never work and just be frustrating
