I just found this video and I'm happy to say that I had the honor of being able to work under Tsukuru during a comp in Saudi Arabia after the Brixen Worldcup. Learned so much working with him and such a great guy.
Genuinely never once seen setters wear safety glasses, certainly not at a World Cup. I can imagine it would be quite annoying to have them on all day, they often work 12 hours a day if not more. Same with hearing protection - I think ideally you'd want that too if you're drilling all day, but then you have to keep taking it off to talk to others.
@@kaspa14 I think it's definitely the wiser choice, but I can see why it's impractical too. Unless the IFSC sets an industry standard, I think it's unlikely to be adopted.
from experience I can say with confidence, that ifsc setters usually don't give a crap about safety measures and oftentimes are the scetchiest people to work with
