Thank you very much for your review of our machines. You´re absolutely right, the "pad stalling" on every DA polisher on the market, doesn´t matter which brand, is designed to stop the rotation, if you hold the polisher the wrong way (angling) or use it on to small panels, where you´re supposed to use a smaller machine like you demonstrated. It makes absolutely no sense to use a 5 inch polisher on an edge, where you´re supposed to use a smaller pad. That´s the reason why those smaller machines exist. If you are looking for a machine which does not stall at all no matter how you hold the machine or how much pressure you put onto it, you have to get a rotation polisher or forced rotation machine like the Rupes Mille or Flex VRG 3401, which are completely different from a DA polisher. The DA polisher was introduced to the market, to make polishing paint easier, specially for beginner´s, with a lot of safety for the user in mind. If you´re not proficient with a rotation polisher or a forced rotation polisher, you are calling for trouble very quickly. At the end of the day it´s the customer´s choice which machine he´s buying, but as a professional Detailer for over 25 years I can tell with absolute certainty, that the 5 inch polisher from LE is one of the smoothest to use on the market, regarding vibrations and noise level (pitch). You feel the difference when you use the machines one by one next to each other. But of course all those senses also come down to the user as well. Not everybody feels the same way, but if you´re using a machine almost every day, I would rather prefer a machine which is less loud and smoother. Thank you again for the review. Diemo_LE, can you explain why the 1” sounds like it’s surging? Would think that would get irritating after a while.

@@stevelafara6953 That comes from the backlash potential of the Rotor, if you run the machine without putting it on the panel. The Motor Management System in the machine is designed to keep the speed consistent, when you´re polishing on the surface with some pressure and keep the RPM as desired, not in free air. But as you can see in the video, that disappears as soon as the polisher get´s onto the panel. Some of the cheaper products do not control the RPM electronically, so you loose RPM when you put pressure on the machine and you´re not getting a consistent polishing result. Now you have the explanation of the surging sound of the machine. Nothing to worry about. Thank you for asking.

absolutely love your explanation of the physics in terms of pressure and abrasion, thats truely the case, if you apply the same power on a smaller area you apply more pressure per suqarecentimeter. So long story short, yes we designed this tool to be more safe and avoid overcorrecting in smaller areas. And the other thing is reducing wear on the bearings and the gear as this tilting will lead to more wear especially on the bearings that hold the backingplate and orbital mechanism.

Hell of a difference in price from this and a shinemate. DA are DA regardless. As long as it last and maintains power and the variable speed dial works is what matters. I want a DA to stall on curves it is supposed to for a reason so you arent burning through. I think this thing is as good as any DA 15mm throw at a fair price

I use the Milwaukee as well as often as I can. Though I find that if the paint is in really bad condition a chorded polisher is very helpful. American cars and Mercedes I’ve corrected have required me to use chorded polishers and maybe it’s because I don’t have enough battery’s to keep changing out.

Totally agree with you that for $200 this isn’t a bad option but the one thing I can’t really wrap my head around is how this polisher could be considered on par or better than the rupes which is almost laughable. I am also in agreement with you that stalling isn’t that big of a deal but it seems like this is always used a a negative when talking about rupes? Lastly, I would really recommend using the kamikaze door gate stop device whenever doing hoods, trunks lid and doors. A substitute could be to use a stack of mf towels to provide the gap. As you get more comfortable using the 5” polisher it’ll more apparent that you’ll barely ever need the smaller 1” or 3” polishers.

Who said that its on par or better than a rupes? Its not, and nobody should expect it to be, it's half the price!! I brought up rupes in my video specifically because they have one of the best polishers in existence and it stalls because they designed it to happen. Im of the mindset that the stalling could be as much of a positive as a negative and our job as a consumer is to understand the features that products have and make choices about what we purchase based on that understanding. If you care about stalling this isnt the product for you. Im guessing that you detail as a living based on the history of back and forth comments we have had over the years. I have the door gate stoppers I've used them many times, I'm also very comfortable using a 5" machine. We all know the reason to use a larger machine is to complete the task faster and more efficiently, and this should be really really important to a detailer because time is money!! The faster you do a car the more cars you can do and the more money you can make. Ive never been a detailer, but when I did landscaping in college I bought the biggest fastest mower I could find and knocked down yards as fast as possible, its the exact same thing, because mowing grass to me was at that time a chore, just like polishing is a chore for a detailer. I choose to use smaller machines because I enjoy using the smaller machines, and I feel they are the right tool for the job, additionally I dont care at all how long it takes!! I did my entire clubman with the HLR75 (3") and I just did half of a Mercedes Benz SUV with my Mirka 3" a few weeks ago, detailing and especially polishing is a hobby for me, its therapeutic, it gets me away from my job, my house, my kids, my finances, the channel, etc and lets me focus on a small task that I enjoy doing.

Who said it was better than the Rupes? Ive useð a rupes DA and they aren't anything special, i switched to Flex forced rotation.

I probably use the mirka a little more often than i use the milwaukee, just because of how quiet it is. If im doing a full car im using the milwaukee 5" with a CP3.0 battery and the mirka with a 2.5 for edgework. I usually only grab a 1" for things like door handles and under mirrors.
