Its hard to know without seeing it in person, but ill help as much as i can. a 2017 Clubman S is in general a good platform, it uses the B48 engine which has been used since 2014 in many various minis, this is in general a really reliable platform that doesn't have the issues the older N series engines (2008-2013) did in many of the minis, which created the reputation for "unreliability" I wouldn't be worried about the mileage as long as it has had regular maintenance. A 2017 for 13k feels right to me, my 2016 JCW 2 door is worth around 15k right now with 60k miles. If you like the car i feel its a good value for the money, and i would be able to recommend it. One thing you should note is these are BMWs, the clubman is basically a 2 series with a different body, this is why they have excellent fit and finish and interior materials, but BMWs are also more expensive to maintain than your average honda. The materials are more, the labor is more, etc. Much of it you can do yourself if youre handy, there is a huge community of mini fanatics on facebook and forums that can guide you. If you like to modify there are tons and tons of brands that only make parts for minis, the community is just that big. If you're not a hands-on person when it comes to maintenance i would look for a local "german auto" shop that specializes in European cars, it will be way less than the dealer. A great example is that Hengst makes the air filters for BMW, and if you buy the one with the bmw logo its 25% more, for the same darn part. I guess the TL;DR is, if it is clean, has service history, and a clean carfax, i would do it.
I knows it’s a thing now but I can’t imagine having a car without an oil dipstick. How often do you use the lift and is it worth the investment in your opinion? Thanks
i use it a few times per year. Honestly i think its a good value, i paid around 1300 for it, a good floor jack is 250 and stands are 200 or so a pair, so reasonably this isnt much more than a jack and stands. I like that you dont have to worry about deforming the swisstrax, and its safe enough that my kids can use them easily.
