Love the review on this raquet - not only because it's a women racquet but more important that you treat this just as in depth as any other racquet review. Love it and can't wait to see more!

I've demoed: Blade 98 16x19 Radical Pro Pure Strike 16x19 Gravity MP So far I prefer Strike for the free power, stiffer feel, enough spin for my game, yet good control and maneuverability. How would the Iga compare to the Pure Strike 16x19 especially in terms of power, spin, maneuverability and forgiveness? Also which one do you prefer on your OHBH?

Thanks for the review. Would be interesting to find out what exactly the manufacturers do to alter the stiffness rating and how injecting with foam or silicone affects this rating…

Jonas your tennis has really improved leaps and bounds, well done! Can see quite a bit more pop in your shots too. I only wish i could play as much tennis as you right now :( Tennis courts are all shut right here.. I am playing with the Prince Textreme Tour 290 right now with 10g blutack in buttcap to give it 32cm balance and i am quite enjoying it. Its also already at the upper end of stiffness for me and i still go back to the Phantom 100X for the softer flexfeel every now and again. This TF Iga with RA in the 70s is going in the wrong direction for middle aged players like me seeking more comfort. TF probably only targeting the younger healthier audience with this stick.

Thanks! Sorry to hear of the lockdown. Yeah, this racquet is pretty stiff so any kind of arm concern and I would avoid it!
@jerome_morrow
@jerome_morrow 3 года назад
Tried this and still prefer the Prince TT 100 (290) she won RG with. The TF Iga is much stiffer, has less hoop stability, smaller sweetspot and generates less spin in comparison. The Prince TT 100 (290) is arguably the best sub-300g frame on the market right now (in stock form comparisons).
@urbaneindiana3089
@urbaneindiana3089 3 года назад
I use the TT 100 and while it's an excellent racquet, I find the launch angle on it to be a bit too flat. It's great for flattish hitting but difficult when I am practicing topspin rallies.

Thx for the comparison cause I don't recall Tennisnerd compare the two racquets in the video. I just bought both to try. Post lockdown I was playing with Blade 100L, customised w/ lead underneath a leather grip. Can't wait!!!

Hi Jonas, than you for the great review! I tried to contact you through the link here for 'Racquet consultation' but seems its not directing me to the correct page. I am male recreational player (at age of 30). Right now I am using Prince TXT 310, however despite this is good stick it is not working for my games. It has high launch angle as for my game. And it was hard to generate flat shots. Probably my swing isn't working to generate flat balls. I was hitting great with Clash 100. Probably I am preferring lower swingweight at low 310s. I ordered few racket to demo which are Radical MP and Extreme Tour and Babloat Pure drive. I am considering this racket as this has low swingweight so it might be good to swing like clash.

Nice review. I dig how you described the frame as versatile without being spectacular in any one way. I know exactly what you mean and agree that this makes for a preferable frame. I also like how you discussed the high RA. I was curious about that and you answered all my questions. The only thing left wanting was the inside info on how Iga actually has hers weighted. But then, maybe you've spoiled me by being the internet's #1 revealer of pro specs!

Jonas, I was going to ask you to recommend a lighter racket for a senior . I think you just did. I have both the Pro Staff 100 and TT 310. I am more confident with the 310…. Good with touch and my one handed backhand. In fact, I am more confident with my BH…. My forehand is still a work in progress. I was switched from an Eastern to a SW forehand about 18 months ago… maybe I should stay with an Eastern from the baseline and use a SW as I approach. Would this T-Rebound be good to try: more pop, good for touch and one hander…. I really am a more crafty player; not a slugger. I would use a gut/ poly hybrid.
@Tennisnerd
@Tennisnerd 3 года назад
Hi John, it could be interesting to test, but the racquets you are mention are both great as well, so perhaps no need. If you don't feel comfortable with the SW grip, you can always use something in between, that's what I do. Or you can adjust a bit depending on the shot.

I got this racquet recently and I think it's pretty balance with power and spin. Now, 2 things: 1: Careful with the string setup because the vibration can actually make your hands feel numb. Definitely use soft string. I strung it with Head Velocity 16g in the mains @ 55 lb and Tecnifibre Razor Soft 16g in the crosses @ 53 lb and was a bit harsh, plus my hands started to go numb. I restrung it with a full bed of Polytour Pro 17g at 55 lb and now it feels perfect. 2: You will pay a price for the shanks. The racquet will teach you to hit the sweet spot in a harsh way.

I'm going to test this racket soon, hopefully by the end of next week or so. The RF97 and the duel g 97 were my favourite rackets back before having kids but coming back into the game I've moved to the tweener class, and I'm currently stuck between a 2021 pure drive and a 2021 ezone 100 at custom specs. I guess I see this Iga frame as possibly being something inbetween, as an experiment more than anything (playing with specs as well, although the no trap door thing sounds like a potential issue). Your review hasn't dampened my interest in it though.

How would you compare it to the TF40 305 or 315, which are also both 98 sqin?
@Tennisnerd

The TF40 is far more low-powered and not as spin-friendly. The Tfight RS 305 is a better comparison racquet, which is slightly less stiff and more control-oriented.
@sjjapp

It's highly unfortunate that this racket is being labeled a woman's racket by many before questioning what a woman's racket is (there's no such thing). In this sense, I fear that one of the best rackets on the market for certain styles of play could get swept under the rug before it gets a chance to shine. I've switched to this racket from a customised Pure Drive. This is the 98 inch pure drive I've been wanting, something that has a ton of explosivity and spin potential that pairs so well with my heavy rpm/pace Babolat style game basically while offering that kind of easy targeting you get with a 98. It's a seriously good modern attackers racket. My only issue with it is the fact that there's no trap door at the buttcap. This makes adding weight to the handle a bit of a pain. This is my first ever Technifibre racket so I've no idea if this is something Technifibre does with all their rackets or if it's just with this one.

Hey again! Any chance I could send you some tennisquestions via email/discord? You seem to have a good amount of knowledge and experience regarding a lot of tennisequipment, based on your answers to me in that other video. We seem to have a common interest in some racquets too :P I went a bit overboard and (ahead of schedule) ordered a new Pure Drive with Poly (Hyper G Soft at 44lbs), figured I should try to play with a poly at low tension like you mentioned. Not straying away from Yonex and Multifilament just yet! But I'd like to try it out. Besides I have a Yonex Pro Tour Rev 1.25 ready for when I'm cutting the multifilament in my Ezone 100. Figured out I would just have it ordered with Poly now, and then later on maybe I try it with the same string as I currently use in my Ezone 100, Tecnifibre X1 Biphase. Just to see what I like the best of Ezone vs Pure Drive with same strings. Also ordered this model, the Tecnifibre Tempo 298 Iga. I know it's way over my skill level. Just fell in love with the paint job and all the praise this frame is getting in reviews. It's a tad lighter than the Ezone and Pure Drive + it's a 98, so it will be fun to see how it's different to use. I am prepared to have it waiting for my skill to catch up. Also have a hope maybe this racquet can be used by my GF. I did go with Multifilament Tecnifibre X1 Biphase at 23kg/50lbs on this one. Bit afraid that going with poly on this one would feel too stiff. Sry for spamming your notifications :P

Stiffest racquet I've played in the past decade is the RF97 and the PWS system compensates nicely for the stiffness. I would not touch this frame with my past arm issues. I never want to go back to being injured for an extended period of time. I do like the crisp feel of stiff racquet but it's tempting fate. I'll just stay with the IG Prestige MP until they break. I would be fine with the RF97, especially if I could get XL versions. I do want to get a couple of XL PT57s just to try them out. Your comments on time in the gym are spot on. Fitness matters much more than the racquet.
