Another beautiful finish to a beautiful tournament for Iga. Sakkari matched Iga's athleticism, but not her shotmaking. Well done to Sakkari for making the first set competitive, but after 4-all, Iga tightened the screws and lost only a couple points as she took the set. She then never looked back. High serve numbers and fewer UEs. Sakkari looks more positive on court, perhaps the recent change in her team will help her become more competitive in the future. Congrats to the world no.1, she is making history as she goes👏

what an amazing,amazing player iga swiatek,she plays the game of tennis so agresively,she has no mercy on her opponents,she takes the ball very early,she hits alot of top spins,she is quick as a cat getting to the balls,she can stand in the middle of the court and change the direction of the ball either to the far right or the far left of the court,and she is like a shark once she smells blood she wont stop until she gets her prey,she does not give up on any shots,it does not matter if she is up or down in the match.but she still has not beaten ostepenko.

Swiatek is a machine

Obviously WTA thinks that if they do not post highlights of Sakkari vs Gauff semi finals, then it never happened. Anyways, Gauff was playing her best tennis in the semis, but still lost because Sakkari was playing one level better than her.

Iga is a tennis terminator. Sakkari has improved a lot but she didn't have enough tools to beat Iga. She put up a good fight in the first set. But you need to maintain the highest level for much longer to compete with Iga. Then Sakkari lost focus because she started thinking what to change to win points and kind of forgot about her best tennis. When Sakarri broke Iga who was struggling a bit, Iga's mental coach told her Iga just focus on yourself, then Iga improved her game, avoided errors and jumped away from Sakarri.

Sakkari should be VERY happy with her tournament, epic week for her, hopefully more to come 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I still didn't understand to people who gave comment that iga is in weak era, even if we knew, when iga was always beaten over and over by maria before she got best form like rn, it means iga is getting much better nowdays, do you think if iga is not in competition and it would be more competitive?. she is learner and ambitius, so no wonder if she is dominated and ambitious. If they could not beat iga, it does not mean iga is boring, she is just too good in her form rn, we just need to admit it.

Wow that’s some dominating performance from Iga, we all know who’s going to win the women’s French open 2024. She’s pretty much going to be Nadalesque on clay. On hard courts in grand slams especially US and Australian open, she has a mental block of winning. Honestly she should easily win them too

It was Deja Vu 2022 but it's not pretty with Maria getting a 2nd set bagel. 1GA really knows how to seal the victory when she wins the 1st set. Hopefully this will transcend to Miami too and 1GA will stay focused for the Sunshine Double repeat!
