Since they want us to find 6 effects from 2 paragraphs, write 3 effects of the first paragraph in one paragraph and the other 3 in another separate paragraph, so you should have 2 paragraphs

However I'd like to clarify whether it is okay to end each paragraph with the explanation of the final phrase/ word or is it necessary for one to conclude each paragraph by summarising the info given? Eg: the effect of using the choice of words has been created by...
If you wanted to provide the overall effect at the end instead of the beginning that's alright... It's clear to see that, from the aforementioned examples, the writer is trying to create an image of the character's xxxxxxxxxx. How you've expressed it is also fine :)!

If I have to write on 2 paragraphs and therefore, 300 words, how will my introduction and conclusion of the whole answer look like and what should it include?
150 words per paragraph ideally. No intro or conclusion as such. But, establish the overall effect in your topic sentence sentence. Couple of inferences per image. See my videos for further guidance.
No, but having marked for an exam board before, we truly do appreciate clear handwriting. If handwriting is completely illegible, credit won't be given. Markers also don't have hours to spend deciphering handwriting!

Heyy IGCSESUCCESS, I have a question. Usually when I answer writer's effect questions I explain the meaning and the image that comes to my mind as I read the phrase/word. I also talk about the feelings evoked from the passage as well as how it makes me (the reader) feel. Is that a good way to approach the question?
I was watched a video saying that there will be some poetry involved in IGCSE first language English paper 2 . Is this correct ? I thought poetry would have only been involved on the literature paper and im stressing because I haven't been revising poetry as Im not doing literature . Can someone please answer this ? 😭

Wait do you not give a dictionary definition of the powerful words? What I usually do is write my phrase down, identify the imagery technique used, define the powerful words and then give connotations and then suggestions.
I guess that is one way of looking at different layers of meaning. But it is not a requirement. I've taught it this way for many years and have had many students come away with A*s :)!
please could you do a video on how to write with less words? I just switched over to IGCSE and i am not used to writing with word limits, let alone such a small word limits! I am terrible at keeping under the limit and finding how to say everything i need to say in such a small amount of space (sorry if you already have and ive just missed it lol) :)
Yes, of course! It's always impressive when students can use quotations effectively and accuratively... Embedding them and sustaining a literacy present voice helps achieve this.

@@IGCSESUCCESS I have searched a lot - but 2017 papers are all core . Only 2020 are 2021 are extended . I’ve made sure time and time again if the code was different but it’s 0500
@@emanahmad7163 Ahhh, I see what you mean. Cambridge changed the format of the paper in 2020. Any older papers will just have the three big questions - still good to use though in terms of practising. However, there are plenty of extended papers available now... Probs at least 15+
Sure :) I mean, you can use the word quote, but it makes your writing a little choppy. You wouldn't lose marks for it :) it's just something us English teachers dislike 😅
