Here is a narrative titled The Promise.
It's a first person narrative with a rather sad ending...
Subtitles on if you want to see what I'm saying!

I got a C predicted grade in the May June 2020 exams ( which was far from my skill in english ). I retook it at Oct Nov 2020 and my results just arrived - i got an A*. Your channel was 50% of my revision for the exam. Thank you so much

Hi sir, may I write a story similar to this for my narrative? The ending is amazing and I’m sure I’d be able to make my story end that way. However, will they know if I make my conclusion similar to yours and penalize me?

Hello sir, I loved it soo much. I am honestly eager to hear what happens to poor Robbie! But sir I have a question, for my narrative, what tense should I use?
@IGCSESUCCESS

It's really up to you! Sometimes my students find 1st person narratives easier if they are writing from personal experience...

@@IGCSESUCCESS Thanks sir. But I have a problem with my tenses. Could you please check this for me: (I extremely sorry for being persistent) Escape; that’s all I wanted to do in the final hours spent at the office. The hypnotic sound of the clock just seemed to slow down even more. I groaned to myself; I wanted to go back home to my cosy apartment as soon as possible and whip up something nice to eat. I tried making attempts to distract myself by doing different things: organising my desk, cleaning out my draws, and colour coding my notes. It turned out to be a futile way of passing time since when my gaze went back up to the plastic clock - only two measly minutes had passed. Having not the slightest idea on what to do next, I looked through the work out window to the evening sky. The night had come around sooner than expected. The sky gave premonitions of rain. Great, I thought to myself. The only day I don’t come by car. It eventually became 7:30, I rushed out of the office, trying my best to not look overly keen about going home as I passed my boss. Also please tell me what things I got wrong

@@IGCSESUCCESS Really??!!? Oh gosh, the joy it brings me to hear this from you sir. I have my paper 2 tomorrow and I am nervous as a pigeon ( I don't this there isn't any relevance but I am overjoyed by your response.) I have been self-studying since my English teacher left us half way. So I am just hoping I will pass. Oh and I managed to do a bit while you were responding. Here is the continuation: (It isn't finished however) I hastily made it to the bus stop, trying not to push into any pedestrians as I ran past them. Had I missed it? I looked around and saw the bus already metres away from where I stood. It turned over the block, almost in a teasing manner mocking the state I was in. I felt a small pat on my head, then another and another. By the time I looked up it was pouring buckets. I sat down near the bus stop, below the almost dying lamp post. I sighed to myself in defeat. Could this day get any worse? Drowning in my own forlorn thoughts, a gentle cry called out. My eyes shot open, I stood up and Oh and how is the tense here?

Hello any advice on Argumentative essays ???? I'd really appreciate because I have my english exam tomorrow
@IGCSESUCCESS
@IGCSESUCCESS 3 года назад
What part of the exam is this for? Hmm argumentative writing... Be sure to use lots of facts and statistics to back up your argument, adopt a suitable register (usually formal), use connectives to structure and develop... Acknowledge the other side of the argument and then bring it back to the purpose of your argument. E.g. I find it interesting how some people see x as being x, however, what they fail to see is blah blah blah.

hello i have a question . Are you most likely to get more marks if you use huge complicated words compared to simple or not really complicated words .
@IGCSESUCCESS
@IGCSESUCCESS 3 года назад
You need to use vocabulary for effect. A few 'ambitious' word choices precisely used will definitely help.
