I have had the same problem...I tried a similar setup using a havis charge guard but it never worked right and ended up running down the battery. The car battery is more sensitive to even a small amount of drain come winter time when it is freezing out. I have always wanted to build a set up with a small lithium ion battery pack and solar panel to give the dash cam a completely independent battery when the vehicle is off and allow it to run for as long as possible with out taking down the battery to the point where is struggles to start the car in the winter. I subscribed to your channel, would like to hear how this unit works out. I also look forward to seeing that monstrosity of a snow blower in action!
Thank you for subscribing. This unit has been working great. I haven't noticed any issues with it draining the battery. Your battery pack idea is intriguing. I'm also looking forward to putting the snow blower in action, should be soon.
