In my opinion, any American woman that conscientiously votes for the Republican Party is eerily similar to any African-American (Black American), or any other non-White American for that matter, that knowingly votes for the Republican Party. What I mean is that when both groups (American women and non-White Americans) naively and/or stupidly vote for the Republican Party they are unknowingly voting against their personal interests! I was born in Arkansas in 1950 and left in 1976 for many of the reasons you mentioned about red states. I now live in CA, but my dad is still in AR, and although he was always a big supporter of the state he now hates it and tells me he can’t believe how stupid the electorate is. The people have gone MAGA and voted for the most ridiculous people who are either stupid themselves, think Sarah Huckabee Sanders, or smart and wealthy enough to manipulate the voters, think Tom Cotton.

Well, it would be nice, but we in the USA are screwed without reach around. The Democrat and Republican Mega-delegates choose the presidential candidates, not us. Then, The Electoral College votes for the president, not us. This is how Hillary Clinton the DNC mega-delegate choice) was chosen over Bernie Sanders (the people’s choice) back in 2016. Because The Electoral College chooses the president, the popular vote in the USA is worthless. We, the registered voters in the USA have the illusion of choice in voting for a president, but we don’t actually pick them. Over the past thirty years Democrats have enabled Republicans to gerrymander the voting districts in favor of the GOP candidates. This means it’s practically impossible for democrat candidates to win in many districts. This sudden interest in gerrymandering by democrat politicians is performative. It has been happening for thirty years now. The concern is too little, and way too late. The orange kraken has already been released from its cage! Regardless of the popular vote outcome (true democracy), the lesser of the two evils usually wins because the system is designed to favor the status quo, and not favor actual democracy or actual change. (See Bush vs Gore. See Trump vs Clinton, etc.) This is precisely how the forefathers intended it, a Representative Democracy-ish Republic, because they knew the average person in the USA was uneducated and easily fooled or bribed. Over the past 250+ years times have not changed much; I hear we are reenacting ancient laws from 1864 now! 😂😂😂

I would also discuss what responsibilities come with having to care in all aspects of their loved ones life experience. What woman would even consider staying with a man who believes in the values of the Government and the Patriarchal laws and lifestyles that come with it.

Not caring about the rest of the country because your rights are safe in your blue state is like not caring about gay/trans rights because you’re cis and straight or not caring about people of color because you’re white. Those of us with privilege can no longer turn a blind eye. It’s been pointed out to us, and we need to vote accordingly and speak out against those who refuse to accept the truth.
I lived in a sea of red hats about 45 years, until I was able to move just a few years ago. I know how it feels. I felt less and less safe just going about my business in town, a single woman just minding her business. Men in those areas have become complete threats to our safety, and the women who defend them are not our allies. I was so grateful to move to a more liberal/blue area in a small city, but we’re still subjected to it if we’re not careful whose company we keep. How far away do I have to go??!! 😩

I’m a middle aged woman who was raped when I was a young woman. It was my first time being pregnant, from this rape. I was fortunate enough to have access to abortion but the hell I was experiencing is incomprehensible to someone who hasn’t walked in those shoes.

I’d personally met and we discussed our similar situations, with 2 other women in my daily life who were also raped and impregnated by that rape. We need to elevate this because people are quick to dismiss the need for access to abortion and bodily autonomy. Those people want to erase people like myself because my story is very uncomfortable to them. I get it, I do. It’s uncomfortable. But it’s also a reality for too many of us.

We must also be knowledgeable about the Comstock Act. It’s another old law on the books that’s not being enforced. It will very likely be put into effect to ban mailing of the pills used for medication abortion nationwide.
