Stunningly beautiful game. Words can't even begin to cover it. I love this part... The speed of the progression through the level, plus the intensity of this music... it's rather "I've come this far, I won't be stopped now. If you try, I'll cut through you, but I won't lose." I adore this game and soundtrack!
There's also the fact that the whole game is a metaphor for Shinra achieving enlightenment/nirvana, thus escaping the karmic cycle of death and rebirth AKA metempsychosis. At the end of the stage, Shinra destroys the Stone-Like, which acts as the "death" half of the equation, and sacrifices his own life/ship (which had CREATOR, the "life" side of the equation onboard as the robotic voice) in the process, thus ending the loop of the world's death/rebirth that Radiant Silvergun introduced as well.
@@herpderpitypurple73 During the final battle, the Stone-Like claims Shinra and Kagari cannot escape the metempsychosis cycle that the characters of Silvergun fell to, only for them to prove it wrong by destroying it shortly afterwards and becoming spirit beings, achieving their final metempsychosis and enlightenment.
I like to think of something similar...a countdown to escape a facility, or some huge castle, or something. LIke, imagine this scenario. You and your friends fought your way to the top of this huge castle, something the size of say, Dracula's castle in most Castlevania games. Along the way through the castle, you wind up fighting against your brother (or someone close to you, maybe a dear friend) who turned against you earlier, joining the big bad. You defeat him, and continue on. After a grand stairway leading up to the final encounter, you take on the big bad himself. Through a long, difficult battle, you manage to defeat him...but unfortunately, he as one last trick up his sleeve. You fall into a trap (think, a spell or some kind of device that imprisons you and your party) and it seems there is no way out. Meanwhile, the castle is beginning to destabilize from the battle. Just when all hope seems to be lost...your brother/friend/whoever you defeated earlier, returns. It is at this point that the music starts. Having realized his mistakes, and wanting to make up for his betrayal, he frees your party from the trap, and tells you that he will hold off the big bad while you escape. Everyone pleads for him to come with them, but he has made up his mind. With nothing else to say, your party turns to run from the room, as the camera pans to show them fleeing, and your brother walking towards the big bad. He draws his sword, the scene fades to white... The scene then fades back in, with your party reaching the grand stairway room. The scene pans around, showing pillars falling and huge chunks of stone crashing down all over. "We don't have much time left. Let's get out of here!" Then 1:18 hits as you regain control, and a 3 minute timer starts. ...I like escape sequences in games, if you couldn't tell. I feel like this would probably be the most epic one ever. xD I know, I know, the setup was pretty cliche, but I had to think of something. xD
what i like to do is: plah this music on my computer with earphones, play against any type of epic boss you like, and boom ya got ya self something that actually works
Well you can always pick up a Gamecube or Dreamcast for cheap these days and play those versions. In fact, the older Wii's can play the Gamecube port as well. Never hurts to have a physical copy at your disposal!
Buying it on XBLA is the smartest way because the money (at least a good portion of it) goes straight to Treasure. If you buy it at a store, all the money goes to the store, where they will likely not buy another copy of the game.
This game is the perfect level of challenge, the final level is the perfect stage where you are forced to see how much better you have become since the beginning. The level is intense, fast, and hard yet you feel comfortable amidst the chaos. Why? Because you have grown stronger and are prepared to face the final challenge.
