you know I think it was two sides to Ike i think it was a part of him that could be charming then there was that bad side . I think if her was all bad that she would have left way before she did. I don't think she tell about the good side of Ike.You can tell that there was some thing that she did like about him in this footage.
+Eric Fortune Jr. Being a coke head I'm sure greatly contributed into as well & didn't make it any better...and he was on that shit for nearly the entire 16 brutal years she spent handcuffed to his boney punk ass regularly beating on her. Like Rick James had stated himself, "COCAINE IS A HELLUVA DRUG!" ...and that's what I think what was the biggest influence going on with the way he behaved with her.
Eric Fortune Jr. Yes, Ike had deep rooted issues from his childhood and he was bipolar but wasn't diagnosed until later in his life so drugs only made things worse, but they had their good times. Tina said in her book when things were great they were really great and when things were bad it was very bad, he was unpredictable. Tina obviously saw something in him she liked whether it was his talent or what he could do for her to get out of St Louis. She was a single parent working as a nursing aide before he created Tina Turner. He can't take credit for Tina's natural talent but he gave her a platform to shine. They benefited from each other but Ike didn't appreciate her. She was the most supportive and consistent person in his life and he didn't even realize it.
Agreed. Movie was fabricated on so many levels. Ike was a small man. Tina herself admitted she even had a temper, especially when it came to the whores Ike brought to the house.

@@starrsearch6733 You left out that Ike also said Tina would hit him and the accounts of others who saw her hit him. Keith Richards said Tina wasn't someone to mess with. He heard her fight with Ike in their dressing room. He said she looked fine and Ike was the one who was beat up. Bruises can be covered up but not swollen shut eyes, busted lips, burns and broken bones. If Tina was as battered as she claims it would be highly visible, and you'd think there'd be at least one police report documenting an incident of assault or even a mention of domestic violence in her divorce petition.
@@supernova6472 In her book Kurt Loder interviewed an emergency nurse who confirmed that she would come in beaten. If you look at certain footage you can see one side of her face more swollen than the other, and one eye smaller than the other. Neighbours would call police and she would turn them away. The cops back then are not like the ones today when it comes to DV. If that was happening today Ike Turner would have been sent to jail. JUst by what he admits doing to her. They performed during the 60's and 70's, not all of their performances or public appearances were filmed or even photographed. Considering how much they toured, you are only seeing a small percentage of Ike and Tina. Audiences didn't have cel phones like they do now. But people reported seeing her with bruises, black eyes and burns. Plus Ike himself admitted to beating her. So yeah I sincerely hope she did manage to whop Ike's ass!
I hate that he put hands on her, but Ike is honestly one of THEE BADDEST Guitarists to ever do it!! He was just as talented as Tina & ppl forget that. 😩

Malik Carter People see what they want to see. I think because there are no photos of Tina battered people over analyze footage and photos of Ike and Tina looking for any little indication of abuse.
