I think that's the fire sign in her... Sagittarius. Fire signs just draw you in. For example Whitney Houston was a Leo, Aretha Franklin was an Aries. They just have the IT factor in terms of that.
I felt like Ike was just making mental notes of everything he thought Tina said wrong during the interview. So he could yell and man handle her later..
Sakinah Thoroughgood well of course... Back then she didn't have an English accent either. I was replying to the guy who says "she has assumed an English accent today".
@@kisha4040 yes in the beginning it was good --- but she was stealing the spotlight and that made Ike feel bitter and angry --- he was supposed to be the star
Gunnerrich You hit the nail on the head David Felix got some heck of a nerve saying that about the biggest rock and roll icon Tina Turner for anybody that want to to see some of the trash that they say about her and so many more people please go to Mag bitter channel type in Mag bitter truth about Tina Turner and see what they be saying it had me steaming it's one hateful channel
I love how she spoke up for her self at 2:04 and said I didn’t say I wanted to be a man. This woman was beauty and power combined!!! Stunning God bless her
I saw an interview where Ike did most of the talking and Tina interjected very little. He was quite articulate as he talked about the history of rhythm and blues. So he can talk when he wants to.
@@jackanthony976 It was rare that Ike did most of the talking and in the case that he did, he would start to ramble. Ike was a business savvy man and knew a lot about the music business but he was not articulate and he was self conscious. Tina was articulate and naturally more personable. She said she spoke for both of them in the media.
@D T "only way you were able to properly train animals is through abuse" 😲wtf? No. Positive reinforcement is a thing. That sounds like an excuse to hurt animals, or justify those who do. I do get the point in your analogy but... yikes, that's cringey af.
You could always tell how Ike was so jealous of her being the star. He put her through so much, and she sat and built him up like she did in this interview. She loved him until she couldn't anymore. I'm glad her story had a happier ending, he came close to killing her.
safeinmyheart1 It was actually jacked up that he asked that question even back then. He had read the Rolling Stone article on the Turners. He already knew who settled the arguments. He was being messy.
fuck outta here you dumb ass. but maaaaybe he was introverted, because white people took his dad (a minister) out of his house in a mob, and hit him untill he got holes in his stomach. he coudlt go to the hospital because black people werent allowed there and then. So he spent years with holes in his stomach in a tent outside the house, and ike grew up around this..and this is just a part of it.. what the fuck does yoru borderline ass know about that struggle? and even with all he been through..he INVENTED ROCK N ROLL.. bitch
@AD NYC Exactly. Ike had deep rooted issues from his childhood and was bipolar but wasn't diagnosed until later in his life. He watched his father die after being attacked by white men and he was raped by older women all before the age of 10. For all Ike's faults he was a talented musician and he gave Tina a platform to shine. Ike accomplished a lot and with only 6th grade education at best. Ike is credited with writing the first Rock and Roll song "Rocket 88" at 19 in 1951. Before Tina he discovered Howlin' Wolf and Little Junior Parker. He played with B.B. King and Elvis used to sneak into clubs to watch Ike and his Kings of Rhythms play.
Bri nln damn who are you to Ike a relative you are underneath every video in every Ike and Tina comment section praising Ike and bashing Tina every chance you get. You are not going to singlehandedly change the worlds opinion of Ike via RU-vid comment section. Give yourself a break bruh chill😂😭🤣
@@parisjej I am not related to Ike and I do not bash Tina. I state facts. Ike had his faults and Tina has her faults too. I acknowledge both of their accomplishments as well. It's not my intention to change anyone's mind. People should be able to think for themselves with the facts presented but it's usually is a skewed story.
Aquanesha Bennette I saw that, more like telling her to shut up, such a control freak! And she’s so sweet and full of life, what a boring and painful marriage she had with him
I don't think he's annoyed. He preferred that Tina do all the talking. I noticed Ike would talk more when its just the interviewer. When there was a crowd he didn't talk.
Ike was saying in his head, "Wait till we get home Anna Mae". SN, the host did a great job lightening up the mood because Ike made that interview awkward.
Ike had a studdering problem thatsvwhy he kept quiet. the movie wasnt accurate at all. She even said it herself. Also I love tina but ike and tina both had faults theres an article of a person who knew ike and tina personally and he said tina wasnt innocent ethier
He did NOT like when she said "they are representing me". The way he looked at her in disbelief, I was thinking of what happened when she went home 5:05
My heart is pounding for her, i can feel the nerves. I find that silence of a partner reveals so much sometimes. It's always in the body, in the eyes, the subtle movements and reactions when they're in public.
Wow.....Ike reached over with that hand and said enough now....interview over. This is really interesting because you see how she was the boisterous one who always did all the talking and Ike was the quiet one. You would have never thought all that was going on behind the scenes. You would think Ike is the quiet one and just play his music but behind the scenes, it was something totally different.
I think he didnt want her telling all of the inside details of the revue. Thats prolly why he was like.."enough". I didnt even notice that hand gesture.
Stfu 😑 he had a studdering problem . She wasnt escaping anything. Jeez and the movie wasnt accurate at all. She even said it herself. Also I love tina but ike and tina both had faults theres an article of a person who knew ike and tina personally and he said tina wasnt innocent ethier
You can tell he was getting mad cuz he kept looking at her and then he tapped her hand it was over then ain't no telling what he did to her when they got home
He touched her hand for her to stop talking. Only if he would have just accepted and loved her, and the loved she had for him! They could of been unstoppable!🤦🏾♀️
She was always the star of the show. Just brilliant! Her most recent dancers have remarked that she is very precise about how things are presented on stage. With a talent like hers, you know why. Fantastic!
Tina learned from the best. Ike was the mastermind and Tina executed. For all his faults Ike was a talented musician and a fantastic bandleader. He can not take credit for her natural talent but he gave Tina a platform to shine.Tina was the star of the show but he put their shows together from arranging the music, the lighting and etc. They were a dynamic musical duo which why they're inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a duo.
bluesugar58 people say Tina is a great band leader....and she got all that from Ike..especially when she makes them repeat stuff if they play the wrong chords
You are so so right Rosa Lee I have always sit and think if only Ike had never did that crap that he did to her and had he treated her as a man treated a wife that you suppose to treat her I just be think wow had thing been different them two could have been big as life
LifewithAngie I’m a sag. Bn with a Scorpio for almost 18 years. You are absolutely right. It’s bn hell. As soon as my daughter leaves for college in the winter semester , things are going to be very different. Can’t say I’m not afraid. But it’s bn a long journey filled with a lot of pain for me. I’m ok right now. I just know way more than on the surface , when it comes to the truth in that.
You would really like tp believe that huh....ummmm im a Scorpio male...and my mother when she was living was a sag..and we got along swell.....but you know it all(🙍)
@@miystiqueskillz2233 Scorpio is the most misunderstood sign of the zodiac. We are more complex because there is a 3-tiered hierarchy to Scorpio represented by the serpent at the lowest level, the eagle at the medium level, and the Phoenix at the highest level. The Phoenix is the mythical bird who flew so high that it was ultimately consumed by the sun and then reborn again from it's own ashes. Too many people want to believe all Scorpios are at the serpent level for some reason.
Ike displays all the characteristics of what is known as a covert narcissist. The more common and easy to spot grandiose narcissists have to have the spotlight, but the covert narcissist sits in the dark waiting to get alone with whomever they are closest to, to take their garbage out on.
3:40 “Mike is always bashful when the lights are on” he is like so many men ... I don’t think she was really speaking on making music ... men who are mental and abusive ARE one way in front people and another behind close doors
Ike Turner was a very troubled soul - he comes across as incredibly socially anxious and awkward. He never used to say anything in any of the interviews from that era. Low self-esteem and deep-rooted insecurities were probably main factors to why he was so abusive to Tina. R.I.P Tina - one of finest performers and greatest humans to have ever walked this planet. You'll be greatly missed!
Angela bassets performance was A1. I mean absolutely head on. She had her down pack. From how she spoke, her posture, her manurisums. She's so talented. I too my hat to her for that roll.
Yes Angela basset played that movie well she had Tina down pat from the beginning to the end they couldn’t have found another soul on this earth that could have act in that movie as Tina Turner but Angela Basset
"Things aren't always the way they look, you know?!" Twenty-one years later, the movie "What's Love Got To Do With It?" came out and we now know what she meant by that statement!
@@riccali3519 Yes she did and now she is living in Switzerland 🇨🇭! I hear that she still suffers from the abuse she had with Ike (nightmares)! But she is living with her husband! Happy for her!

Wow! If you have ever experienced DV or been around it. You can tell a few of Ike's gestures, reaction and facial expressions. Are significantly giving his abusiveness and abusive nature away.😮 Wow!!
God she's so classy and beautiful. a hero for all women. she left him with nothing and worked as a maid took in Ike s 2 kids along with her 2 and became bigger then she ever was in her prime with ike .
