The look on her face is key to how much pain that man caused her...it's a no brainer. She was treated horribly by her own, which included her own mother, her husband, disrespectful co-workers, US consumers....Anyone would choose to be treated like a goddess over being treated like dirt. Its clear Ike had no publicist or a good one. His interview was a hot mess. He basically admitted to abusing her and being mean. All his interview portions were ridiculous.

If you look at Tina in the many clips available when she was with Ike.. you can see the same body language and facial and verbal cues that you see in all battered women.Freed from that physical and psychological oppression, and living to please herself.. you can simply see the difference as she has bloomed. Listening that that quack, Ike, I realize he was a very troubled person. Very selfish and a scary man. I'm so happy Tina found Erwin. He took great care of her and in interviews he seemed a respectful, intelligent man.

When Ike said our whole life was a lie,the look on her face was a look of pain. She was hurt but pulled it together. How can 16 years be a lie. She said that he was very good to her in the beginning. I think she really loved him, and deep down, she probably still did.

Tina Turner was a beautiful lady. Dynamic personality. I thought her hair was natural but when she pushes her hair back several times in this interview I realize she's wearing a wig. I thought she looked classier and more modern with that particular hairstyle. Long hair didn't suit her as much. Still, she was beautiful no matter what. She will be missed on this earth. When you are greater than the circumstances around you, and you can see a light at the end of the tunnel that they cannot even imagine. Tina always had class when dealing with these kind of interviews- she knew the book and movie was going to reopen old wounds and she was prepared. How tacky though to ask her to watch Ike's responses. I suppose that tv show expected her to go off, but like she said, it was long ago. Tina's story is like so many others in the industry- a man "discovers" a female and makes her famous and then spends the rest of his life whining about how she went on to greater success. Tina was hoping to start a life with Raymond Hill, a person that worked in Ike's band. He walked away from the band and left Tina behind. It was Ike who suggested that they move in together. In the early stages of their career, they were just friends, but Ike felt like he needed to control Tina. But I know that Tina cared about Ike for a while, but was never in love with him. Ike should have been mature enough to let her go. That past situation is sad.

Ike Turner was awful to Tina best thing she ever done was to leave him and his narcissistic abusive ways, As like many other women out there today black and white, She may not of needed skin grifts on her face to cover up the scars she had a good makeup artist to deal with that but I bet she is still living with the torment of not only the physical abuse he gave her but the emotional and mental abuse she endured throughout the relationship together domestic abuse is caused by and received by black and white its not just a colour thing if there is anyone out their going threw a domestic relationship please get help the police can help you with this before you end up in plot 5 of your local cemetery.

They were surrounded by tons of people when they were together. No one disputes Tina's accounts except for Ike.

Tina Turner was never really wholeheartedly embraced in that manner by the black-American community, as the whites in America in the earlier days. Black artists who are often unique & atypical (of the so called black norm) are often labeled by their own as being not black enough. Yet, when they are embraced by white (other) audiences then they have been considered to have sold out. Then these same black audiences feel as though she (these artists) owes them something, just like Ike Turner to prove her (their) blackness. Get your own meal ticket Ike. Tina married a man of quality later, even if he's white. Maybe if Whitney would have learned what Tina & Diana did, she would have recaptured her grace & got a good man, instead of AJ after Bobby instead of trying to prove this blackness. Race is second to love & finding your place. Europe's money is just as good as any. She also actually has always had an accent when she spoke: it is more pronounced because she is confident. She subdued much of her real self when they were together. Also, she was not really that dark & used make-up for the lighter tones in her skin vs. the darker tones, so she still looks natural.

I love Tina Turner so very much she is one of my favorite singer's she is always a happy energetic person and she is always calm she has been through so very much she is my inspiration.

Why is Ike complaining about people from England helping her career, when Ike had many white girlfriends in the 1970's , when he and Tina were married. Interviewers wee so rude to her by asking her did she see the movie. Tina was there during the making of the movie and gave a lot advice to the actors on how their characters should be played. In other interviews Tina has stated that it was the director's idea - Brian Gibson to add the rape scene in the movie, which never happened in real life. Robbie and Tina are still close and writes letters to one another. Tina, herself, never forgot Anne Thomas, Anne Cain, Rhonda Gram, and Robbie. She loves them all, but has moved on with her like.
