I found this at ikea. I thought that i had an original idea. It turns out that at least three other you tubers had this idea before me. Since BCKAYAKCAMPER had the oldest vid i'll give him the credit for the idea. Thanks for watching.

Lots of cool use for the pasta strainer - use it as a windscreen with an alcohol stove in it (put two roofing nails across the top to lift and support your cook pot), put solid fuel cubes on tinfoil in the bottom, burn wood in it (or 2 briquettes) as a stove. Cool find, thanks for sharing! PS: it's the "DUKTIG 5-piece cookware set $9.99" on the IKEA website (only sold in stores).

If you are still rocking this kit, I would say to make sure and keep the strainer in with it. If you cut a port hole in the side wall, you could use it upside down over coals and as a wood stove. Gives ya some options with it. Awesome gear for sure!!!!

Take your spaghetti noodles mostly cooked and warm them in boing water. The WOK holds 1 can of spaghetti sauce. Pair this with the kitchen utensils set from ikea. Spatula, tongs, spaghetti thingy, whisk & ladle. The only tool that sucks is the spaghetti thingy. This set is great for 1 or 2 people. I've used this for 2 camping. I use this at home for 1 when I moved into my apt that had to be remodeled. The remodel was a failure but the cook set and utensils worked great.

A suggestion for using the pasta strainer you can use it as a wind guard put a trangia or small stove in it the sides will act as a wind brake the holes will allow the flames to fan and hold the heat focusing it upward

I bought a Ikeas "forget what is called" a dishwasher tub or a cutlery up storage thing. It has holes all around it. I cut a bigger hole in it and make it into a wood burning backpacking strove stove. I built both he tall and short size versions. The short version burns more full very fast. I like the short one better because it boils 2 cups of water very fast. And it is less weight. Plus there is lots of storage in side. I cut the handle off my $ store mug so it fits inside and my 1 cup size fits inside there too with my fire making goods (dryer lint etc) inside of that .

@skyym3629
@skyym3629 10 лет назад
you could cut away some of the side on the pasta strainer and use it for a type of cooktop. LIke they use with the canteen cook set. You invert the pasta strainer after you cut a space out of the side of it, then start a small fire underneath it and set your cookware on top of that. I think that would work excellent in your situation. You have a complete cookset. You can use any type of fuel you wish. You could use sticks and pieces of wood or you can use trioxane tablets or even the gel fuel the military has switched to recently. Let me know what you think. thanks for posting the video and the information you passed on. Cheers.

looks like ideal set up for hicking but if you are not sure that it is 18/10 or less stainless steel (i.e. food grade) perhaps is not good idea healthy wise to use it. 18% stands for chromium and 10% for nickel analogy in steel. Of course is even worst to use aluminum.

@iheervoyses
@iheervoyses 4 года назад
@@danielwright9418 I do not claim any evidence. It is simply too tiring to explain to everyone that simply because someone has PHD after their name does not make them correct. aluminum for example, several years ago a PHD wrote a paper that stated that upon examining the brains of deceased Alzheimer patients that they had a deposit of aluminum in their brains. since aluminum is a heavy metal once it enters the body it is there forever, and powdered aluminum was used in baking powder to prevent caking, that means every American that has consumed a commercially produced baked good has aluminum in their brain. it is the same as saying that people that die of heart attacks had blood in their heart, therefore blood causes heart attacks. it is simply easier to let people believe what they already to believe. nothing I say will change their minds.
