I've been waiting for a couple years to use your process, but unfortunately my shelves are too wide for adobe to resize. :( My shelves are at least 30" wide and in some cases wider. I'll keep looking to see if I can find another app. Thanks, John
That's a great option if you want a glossy background made of photo paper. It's all personal preference. I prefer these backgrounds due to their matte finish, nice structure and durability.
I'd include the sides in the measurement and create your image as a panorama. So, if your display area was a 15"x15" cube, you'd create an image that is 15" tall by 45" wide. From there, you can either crop it into 3 separate images and order the 3 separate 15"x15" images, or order the print as a 15"x45" use a utility blade (or blade of exact zero) to cut it into three 15"x15" pieces when it's delivered to you.

Great video, just wanted to ask if all the concept art pieces from the Star Wars website look sort of pixelated like you showed in the video? And do you know the resolution on that specific one? and how to check different resolutions on different pictures? Also is the gator backdrop the best one preferred for my specific shelf? (I have a detolf)
Not all of them look pixelated. The more detailed pieces look nicer, but the one in this example was very dark, which is probably why it looks like that. The two other Mando shelves in my display are also concept art and you can see that those look great. I don’t know the resolution on this specific one, but resizing the image with the Adobe tool allows you to choose whatever resolution you want. I think these gator board backgrounds are the best for any shelf, including the detolf. The structure, durability and matte finish make them about perfect for easy install and to highlight you’re figures without stealing the show.
To me, I don't see the point to pay for these because we can make our on background and print with a really good quality using photo paper, for instance.
It's all good. Much like everything in life, this isn't for everyone. I've done high quality photo paper before, but I'm not a fan of a gloss finish for backdrops. Plus these install more easily and are much more durable if you ever want to switch them around.
