I have had a few of these kind of kits, and ultimately they end up stripping screws as the bits are not the highest quality. Not bad if you only use them once in a blue moon, but I think it is really worth buying (expensive) higher quality screwdrivers in the more common sizes.

The bits in this kit are really good. I have that triwing bit a real hammering and no bits chipped off it at all

@@JoeBleeps Good to hear! Guess it is more than worth the 5 quid then. Looks like a good assortment of bits. Also without wishing to sound like a pedantic arse, it is a tri-point not a tri-wing I believe. They are two different shapes with tri-wing being a kind of offset triangle.

@@Martin_Edmondson oooh I love that level of detail. Had no idea there were purposefully different angles on the tips. Tri point, I'll aim to remember that 🪛

Looks great! I have the Ifixit mahi kit myself and it's great, but this kit looks like the Ifixit moray which is like 3x the price

Could've almost sworn i was already subscribed? I already have a load of 4mm bits and some drivers, what I'd actually love now would be an electric driver akin to wowstick. Needs to be not backdriveable, doesn't need to be rechargeable, i can just feed it NiMH. Doesn't need to be powerful. Would like it to be cheap.

I think an electronic one like this needs to have a good continuous torque but not necessarily too fast

@@JoeBleeps nah I just want it to help me with tedious screws, especially when they're long and fine threaded, without stripping anything delicate. When the screws need encouragement, I can do that by hand. I already have a 6mm power driver a pistol shaped one, that one clearly has too much torque for something like classic consoles, handhelds, laptops, phones and whatnot. Sometimes I use it on the PC or last when I disassembled a mid 90s Yamaha keyboard for repair but mostly when assembling furniture. For assembling the Yamaha back together, it was a little too risky already, the softest clutch setting is already a little scary.

Neat little kit, especially for the money, as long as you don't need a lot of torque, I assume. Can't imagine the bits to be particularly well hardened. So I would still suggest saving a little money and buying a proper kit from a tool manufacturer, instead. You can say what you want about the prices for bits from Hazet, or from Gedore, or from Metabo, or even from iFixIt, but they perform exceptionally well, imo. I've done so much stuff to those bits that they weren't made for and they didn't break. That's something I cannot say about any cheap bits that I had to work with over the years, unfortunately.

The hardness of the bits is actually really good

was going to comment to check eBay for a larger sized 4mm tri-wing bit to swap out for one of the weirder bits but a quick search later and I can't find them... Im sure they are available somewhere though.

Yeah, I have them already from my Wowstick set, but the main thing I was trying to cover was for people thinking of picking one of these sets up. It's sooo close to being a really amazing kit

@@JoeBleeps True, I have a pretty comprehensive set I got from amazon, I'm actually just a bit shocked I can't find individual 4mm bits for sale, seems like you have to buy a full set with a crappy plastic handle. For a fiver though, really can't go wrong even as a back up set for emergencies, love me some Ikea lol

how does each kit not come with an Alan Key?

Haha! There's three hex bits in this one. I have one of the tools they did years ago that's like a swiss army knife in blue with nothing but Allen keys lol

@@JoeBleeps I think I have one of those rolling around in a drawer too. I don't even remember when was the last piece I bought from them.

This is, where I stopped watching: They did clearly say what is inside on the sticker, but when You got it home and opened it, You were dissapointed. Seriously..?

I think that's reasonable. They had the Xbox bits in there, that's what I needed. I wouldn't say I was disappointed. The package stated there was a 3 point bit I was just surprised they chose that particular size. Got to look at the pros and cons with any purchase
