Chris Walker yes my friend but it’s not a great idea as it seems unfortunately... we’ll talk about that in 10 years when all this crap sets are going to worth 0. This game has become a melting pot of MyLittlePony/Tranformers/Pokémon/ForceofWill with childish colorful computer art made drawings... there’s no collectible in that, I can only see the bad smell of cash grabs and dirty money. For me, they ruined this game

After playing magic on and off since 1994-95 this set is the first I have ordered a booster box of. I have always been a pack here and there every few years player/buyer but with Godzilla being a part of the set I couldn't help but nerd out on multiple levels and smash the preorder button. Thanks for showing us what the collectors box contains. If we were not dealing with the pandemonium I think prices would be higher.

As an art student and illustrator myself I may be in the minority but I absolutely ADORE the comic alternate art. Obviously I love the traditional styled Magic art as well, but as a collector I think its so cool to see cards re imagined in different art styles :) and see different angles and poses that can break the boundaries of Magic's typical realistic art. I love the change and hope they do more alt arts in the future. I'll definitely be picking up a collector's booster just to get more alternate arts and of course for one of my favorite monsters GODZILLA!

The cards I inherited are all very old the newest being from 03 but the majority from 93-97 and I had no clue the art looked like this now. It’s cool but I love the old graining looking art

Keruga isn’t great or anything, but easily usable as a companion in a Fires deck. You can run Borrower and Bonecrusher too.

You can blame the KBA Rapida 106 offset printing press for the scratches on the foil. Since Cartamundi primarily uses KBA offset printing machines in their factory at Dallas, TX.

Bad Boy Gaming Yes sir, the Cartamundi website use to display the list of equipment used in their factory in Dallas, Texas. Also, you may be able to find their promotion video of 2012 on their RU-vid channel, as they had purchased two KBA Rapida 106 printing presses. KBA is the abbreviation for Koenig and Bauer Company. The reason I know this is because six years ago, I was obsessed with learning to design and manufacturer my own offset lithography printing press and use to study manufacturers of offset printing presses, such as KBA, ManRoland, and Heidelberg.

The artist on the Everquill Phoenix alternate is Daniel Warren Johnson... He's an amazing artist and I love that art! I tried to buy the original artwork from his rep... but my offer was too low. All four of his pieces sold as a package for a well deserved "pretty penny."

Keruga still works in standard temur. Lonesome beast, bonecrusher giant, and brazen borrower are all 3cmc cards and handle ur early turns.

Joey you are seriously underestimating Keruga’s power, especially in jeskai fires. If you have fires and several other permanents out it’s basically an on curve body that lets you restock your hand.

Personally I like the comic book style artwork, but I think they should make it a different booster pack. Where every card in the pack is comic style. So players can choose either style to build around.

The trick with Keruga, combined mana cost also works for combo cards and (i think) Adventure cards. If you have a card that can be cast for a higher cost but also has a 1 mana cost low end, the total is what counts.

About Keruga in standart. You can run multiple Bonecrusher giants and Brazen Borrowers. They are 3 drops, but you can use their 2 mana adventures to slow down aggressive decks. To tell the truth the card is pretty busted in Jeskai Fires of Inventions decks with Cavalier of flame and Kenrith, since the deck can be built without any 2 or lower CMC cards. Then you will start the game with one extra card that can draw you even more cards and that it is also a sizeble body to attack with Cavalier and Kenrith.

Ive made a couple decks for standard. One im in love with but i still have to work out the kinks(Sultai Graveyard Shenanigans) and Gruul Sneak attack. Turns out Ilharg and Quartzwood crasher is pretty good😅😂

Getting into mtg again I've been captivated by collector boxes. I've opened them all except any core sets (do they have them?) Commander and mh2...as they cost $500+ and I just cant do it. But of all the other boxes Ikoria is one I purchased twice. One of the best openings I've had. Got 9 triome cards from 2 boxes too. Straight fire. Not to mention the creatures in Ikoria are pretty sweet. I'd say right behind ikoria Strixhaven and Zendikar were great collector boxes.

I honestly think the Jeskai Ultimatum is undervalued. If you have Dream Trawler and/or Shark Typhoon OTB, opponents usually concede. That’s one of my favorite combos to pull off in standard that’s not Thassa/AoT.

My jeskai fires deck with Keruga has me climbing through plat right now on arena. Running it as a companion is not hard. You still have access to stomp from bone crusher giant. And you can run brazen Borrower if you want. I don’t struggle with RDW

Honestly I love the comic book artwork and hope that WOTC realizes that the comic art work will sell in MTG. I was a huge fan of Force of Will (TCG) and loved their cell shaded artwork. Would love to see at least basic land cards in the full art comic style in a future set.

Will sell well in MTG, I'd have to disagree and where is FOW now by the way dude😬. Probably not the best model to follow in a world where every economy is in the trash. Cant see alot of folks paying out for it and the younger generation are going to be thrown to the wolves in the recovery so wont have a penny in their pockets to buy these cards.
