you said "talking Islamically" and "otherwise why would God have sent us here" , by that I know that you are a Muslim and you believe in one true God. By believing in Islam and in Allah, you believe them to be true. You believe or you assume, I daresay, what you've been told and what you know and what you believe about these 2 things is absolutely true, no shadow of doubt. But what if, what if that wasn't the case. What if all you've ever believed is ... just that. SOmething you've always *believed* . I am not saying your beliefs are wrong or anything, no not at all. But, as Mooroo said, there is no shortcut to truth. Then how can we claim to know the truth based on our beliefs. Now some devout follower of Islam may argue that he's read all of Quran and a wonderful book it is. He may argue that. But, think about it. Will only watching Pakistani news help you learn the truth about Pakistan? WIll only reading Pakistani newspaper help you uncover the unbiased truth of Kashmir? The answer is no, it won't. To find the truth one has to first understand what he is looking for. I just said it. Truth. He is looking for the "truth". If it is the truth that Islam is the true religion, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the last prophet of Allah and QUran is the book of truth. Can one claim this to be true without ever questioning it? Without questioning their whole understanding of it? Can one even try to find the truth without doubting everything they already know? What is the truth? DO we already know it? What if what we already know is not the truth? HOw will we know what we already know is or is not the truth? By doubting it, challenging it, listening to others' perspectives, people who don't share the same reality or beliefs or people who used to share those beliefs but have no changed perspectives, by asking them what made them change, by being unbiased for a second, letting go of every belief for a second and questioning. Is what I believe to be true actually true? I am afraid I don't have any answers. Only questions. Peace out

After hearing all that I actually get scared. It's becoming more and more necessary to connect with the Quran. We seriously need to take the Quran as criterion (which it is already) because our minds are dangerously manipulated everyday and we don't even realize that. With all due respect, I don't want to challenge your opinion but I have to point out that you contradict yourself by saying that we need to connect with the Quran as criterion. The thing is that if you think that you are manipulated, lied to and deceived, it can be said that religion might be a very well part of it. I don't want to disrespect your religious beliefs in any way but I think that we need to make that distinction with religion as questionable and falsifiable. Same goes for being patriotic, nationalistic and islamist.

That's why I said, we need to make the Quran as criterion (the word of God). I can understand why it sounds contradictory but it's not. Being Muslim is not being Islamist. I m a muslim but a non muslim sometimes can be a better Muslim than me. Being Muslim is submitting oneself to the God (universal God, our creator) so that we can stay more connected to our soul. I m guessing you don't belong to any religion in particular. The Quran compels us to contemplate. God doesn't want us to follow anything blindly. He imparts wisdom in us in the Quran. He compels us to reflect on ourselves and challenge our perception from time to time. I m guessing you don't believe that the Quran is the word of God. Correct me if I m wrong about you. I believe that it's the word of God. But, it's not my blind belief. I find the kind of wisdom in it, which can only be described as the Divine wisdom. For example, the concept of after life. This life is a test, a trial. We'll be accountable for our actions in the hereafter. Now we know the purpose of our existence. The God asks us to contemplate on the perfect design of this universe and asks, "do you find any flaw?" The Quran preserves all the true teachings of the previous scriptures too which their religious scholars have altered. In this way, the glory of all our Prophets and all the Divine scriptures that were sent before the Prophet Muhammad SAW is preserved. The God challenges people (expert literary people) to bring a scripture or a literature like even a single chapter of the Quran if they think it's a man made work. Our problem is we read translations instead of reading the original text in the language it was revealed in. Things are lost in translation. For example, if I translate a joke in another language, the message will be translated but humor will be lost which is the soul of a joke. Even then God helps us, guides us and lifts up the veil and make us see the truth. We can't see the truth if God doesn't want us to see. The Quran helps us to be moderate. We can't go around questioning and objectioning everything all the time, and we can't go around blindly believing everything all the time either. There is a difference between being ok with ignorance and realizing that some things will always be beyond your knowledge, understanding and imagination as well.
Quran is the word of Allah, our Creator. The Holy Book keeps us away from materialistic world. These things are difficult to understand for those who beleive that religion is totally man made thing. And man uses it for right and wrong purposes. It is partially true. Humans interprete amd manipulate the true religion for different purposes. But we can differentiate between right and wrong through knowledge and research. Sometimes, science oppose religious beliefs. It is because the domain of science ends with things that can be experienced by human alive. When someone dies, scientifically he has no existence and here domain of science ends. After that what happens, only knowledge of revealation tells. This is the knowledge told by Allah to the prophets. And we have it in the form of books. So these books also teach us knowledge of unscientific world.

I'm speechless, yet here i am, writing this (after some time of getting my thoughts together and shit). I feel like this video has the potential to change people in a good way (which doesn't happen very often on this site). After watching youtube frequently half my life, i come across alot of 'informative/knowledgeable' video's , but very few give me goosebumps and hit me in a way that hasn't been hit before. You are very underrated and deserve to be known more widely.

I think sense of belongingness make us biased and force us to follow the rules of the group unconsciously. but you cannot escape from this. if you are not in one group then you are in another group. so it is a paradox. but we can put a filter just like you said, a window to detach ourselves from any group and have a third person view on all options. I want you to review different types of books and movies. you can start with fight club or pale fire. you put a very unbiased concept of every thought and try to make something positive out of it.. Great video but one thing Consciousness is something by which one knows about self existence that is unknown in modern science. Brain areas that perform all the functions in humans also occur in dogs as well but they are not conscious of self they live on instincts. Where does consciousness come from or what makes consciousness nobody knows.
