Good graphics. The He111s remind me of my mother's account of seeing one coned by searchlights over Newcastle-upon-Tyne. A battery of 3.7in AA guns concentrated on it, and despite the pilot's attempts to escape the lights and flak, it was shot down with just one young crew member escaping death. A guy I worked with in the late 1960s-1970s, told me that while playing with other kids in South Bristol, a Heinkel 111 coming back from a raid on Rolls Royce and Bristol Aeroplane Company, flew very low over them and the nose gunner had a pop at them. They pressed themselves against doorways, and escaped the gun fire.

The engine sound from inside the plane is terrific. Awesome defensive by the rear gunner.

I enjoy this video greatly... ( I took a walk inside the HE-111 stationed at Falcon Field in Mesa, Az some months before it was lost...such a loss.) I will be expecting to see more of these videos from your channel.

The song at min 9:00 "Ein Heller und ein Batzen " is still popular in Germany today. A heller is a small silver coin, about a workers wage for one day. The Batzen is a gold coin showing a bear, a "Betz". Of course, the Batzen went to wine.

There are all kinds of IL-2 vids all over RU-vid, and then there are ZEXTEXY's. You stand alone sir in the quality of your productions. My wife knows only a bit about WW2, and even less bout gaming. But I tell ya, she will sit and watch Zextexy's videos with me and enjoy them as she would a motion picture. Outstanding Zextexy, just outstanding.

Well this was a great video. First the view of the Flak and then the defensive flying and combat against the fighters. This was very cinematic.

Impressive ,great graphics ,loved it & never seen the inside of a Heinkel 111 except in an airfix kit but then that was a different world and we had air rifles. Brilliant

Imagine if they made this for Xbox One, it would be beautiful. Birds of Steel on simulator is certainly enjoyable but this has that extra umph with sound, full interior of some planes, smoke looks better. This is truly one of the best videos I've seen, it captures everything I want in a game like this, just to be immersed in the historical and iconic planes like these.

If you can, for a moment forget that these chaps were fighting to further the insane ambitions of a psychotic madman, who, if he had his way (and very nearly did by the blood of millions), would force how you and I live if we get to live at all,… you might have to admire these brave airmen and the beautiful machines that carried their campaign to near victory. Yes their cause was evil and their fates were sealed but the resolve, skill and brotherhood of not just axis but all fighting men is to me deeply special and even something to aspire to.

I love this clip..And I love IL-2 1946 and I love Steven 197106 for helping me kick-up my regular version to up to v4.12...!!! I'm very grateful to him, because now the cinematics in my game are pretty similar to the ones shown in this video, and btw, great editing and great story....!! Also, very fortunate that I was allowed inside the He-111 based at Falcon field, Arizona, at least for a brief tour inside, before sadly loosing it in crash... =( Thanks for sharing....!

Strange no personnel on the runway? Just couple trucks running around. Many times Aircraft made it back on one engine . Even B-17's. I loved building these as models to hang from my bedroom ceiling, sometimes with sprayed cotton black . My Step Dad liked them to . He was battleship Man on the BB63 when Japanese Kamikaze plane hit no far from his station . Witnessed the planes machinegun barrel stuck in the 40 mm barrel antiaircraft gun .
