Gameplay footage of player-controllable flak guns, vehicles, and tanks in the Il-2 Sturmovik flight simulation engine. Note: Beta version is not necessarily representative of the final product.
Great video. Im looking forward to see those new future steps implanted in Clod. This will certainly create a dynamic online. The only thing I is the sound of the Me-110. The rest is great.
@TommyLaser I honestly got excited about the vehicles. Could make for a virtual war somewhere down the line. The flight sim aspect is pretty good. There are broken aspects, but flying in this game can be really spectacular. The cockpits and the feel of the aircraft...but hey, maybe you just disagree. I didn't mean to pick a fight with you, I was just trying to sway your perspective and turn it more positive is all.
@weejohnnybigmickey yes this game has soo much potential i used to play this a lot, and eventually really wanted to be able to man ground or sea assets
@Abbath77 I know Oleg's not there, but these features were probably coded into the game back several years ago. I understand your frustration. I wanted a working game too. I do see progress - even if it isn't proceeding exactly as I expect or want. For myself, I can be patient. I have no issues with anyone who sees it differently. Who knows, maybe my optomism may rub off and in time we can all have a good laugh about this.
@TommyLaser ...but, they're getting back on track. The only thing is, the sim community is so niche and small that the pessimistic approach is, in my opinion, detrimental to the whole "scene". 1C has even gone to the drastic measure of deleting any inflammatory posts on their forums and frankly, I'm happy about it. I'm sick of people griping. The game is playable, and the good parts are great. Yes, it needs work. But they're getting there.
yes! hopefully this feature willl also push the sequel up in the reviews and BOM will sell good so we can also expect very good flight models and a super flight sim with very nice features. just dont make the mistake to sell it as an all combat simulator too soon, because that will shift the players group and its priorities and i2 may end up being scrapped.
@knightflyte I don't think these new features and the development of the next installation are at the expense of CoD. Oleg mentioned on several occasions that drivable/manable AA would be in the offering. Ultimately I think it's going to be an excercise in patience, but the community will be rewarded with the NEXT IL2 series. I don't think many would have bought CoD had they been upfront. I think the rallying cry would be "We waited SIX years and now we have to fund this game?"
my biggest complaint for il-2 series is that the tracer bullet looks like some kind of starwars laser gun . . b-17 flyng fortress had the best balistic modelling . . . other than that it is a great game
@knightflyte I do remember the development cycle and there were many at the 1C forums who thought it would be cool to commandeer a vehicle and drive back over the front to safety. It's not what I want, but many did. Now that something like that is shown every one complains. I just look at this development as proof that the game isn't abandodned. Maybe that's why I have hope for the future of CoD. We shall see how it works out.
@roamanomariano But what 1C is really doing is completing the meal (all be it unfinished upon release) with the chefs, while the dessert cooks make the dessert with cherries. I take it as a vote of confidence that the series will continue and the game hasn't been abandoned. My thinking is that the game was pushed out a year earlier than 1C wanted to, and they had to complete the game during this tumultuous first year. I feel it was out of their hands and in UBI's.
Only curiosity. Have one question about microstuttering and antialiasing and anizo. Will be one day when it will be solved ???? How modern sim, game hasnt : - antialiasing, - anizo, + has microstuttering in a fly
this...makes il-2 1946 look like a lego box.....if only my computer could handle the graphics of this. This game has ground combat on par with World of tanks lol. And its FKIN FLIGHT SIMULATOR!
@TommyLaser No harm done man - I also am not trying to picj a fight or be disrespectful. We seem to have a bit different views of the game - which is okay with me:) I do not visit 1c forums that often, but honestly - ther's a lot of people there that even if Oleg (I actually thought he was out) and Luthier would literally crap on their plates they'd say thank you guys, you are great... Which is sad, I am more than grateful to these kind gentlemen for over 10 years I spent with Il2..
This is for Il-2 1946, I hope. Because I'm not all that into CoD yet until the rest of the war arrives (like a return to Barbarossa, the Desert, the Pacific etc.) . Not enough diversity of aircraft compared to 1946 .
@roamanomariano Well I guess we disagree. I think if you go to the 1C forums and find a million posts like this. There are weekly dev updates now. It's been said many times that just because they show progress in one area it doesn't mean another isn't being worked on. Only so many people can work on one certain thing, so you have to spread the work, and some things get bottlenecked. The devs are playing catch up because, if you ask me, Oleg lost touch with how to make a game...(cont)
@roamanomariano Calm down, man. CloD is actually very playable and I think a real joy to fly even in its current state. Once AI gets tweaked and in-game comms work it'll be all that it needs to be. To not be able to see how expansive the addition of playable vehicles could be is to me a little blind. This is like virtual WWII stuff here...with air support. I'm not trying to attack you but the angry post you wrote is exactly the stuff that's plagued the CloD community and it's getting old.
@roamanomariano I won't by BoM if CoD isn't patched. Now will I purchase it if CoD doesn't dovetail into BoM like FB did for EaP and PF. I understand the trepidation, and can't fault anyone for their opinion. I also know things aren't in working order. I'd also hope (and think they will) fix issues like servers, loadouts and other things. Not to do so would be developmental and business suicide. Time will tell. As it is I still have IL2, RoF, BS, and MSFS, X-Plane.
@knightflyte I choose to be sceptic - There were so many things said, I just don't trust those guys any more. I won't buy BOM straight away - that's for sure. They were working on CloD fo 6 or 7 years - its one year after release now - please do yourself a favour and check how many peaple there is on Clod multi and old IL2 servers every day. I rest my case.
@knightflyte the problem is they dont really fix obvious things instead they implement needless features. I fly Rise of Flight and the DCS series as well. First one got a free halfdynamic Careermode, reworked flightmodels/AI and topnotch graphics, same goes for DCS series. Compare IL2:Clod efforts/ability in fixing their game with the competitors, it is a fucking shame.
Thanks for your advise Tommy, but I think I am calm enough. I don't know about you but for me there's a lot more to be done with this game than tweaking AI and getting in game comms to work - the whole so-called community (and I don't think you can justify saying CloD has one yet) is talking about the multitude of things that need to be done. I don't think geetting playable aaa and freaking trucks was really one of them - for me its just bad use of resources by 1c -more to come
Everything is so nice.... but letting us see the developements of this sim and yet having to state once again how bad fares AI (look at how the fly in formation and how they attack vehicles at ground) and how bad frames are.... it makes me wonder.
Thanks Luthier, now I am fully satisfied with your product... You really have got to be shittin me... hell who cares its barely playable, who cares old il2 -(btw how old is it now, like 10 years?) - still eats it for breakfast thanks to modders (and so help me god - I hope it will stay this way for a looooong time to come) We are going to be able to drive a freaking truck!!! Awesome man!!! Cheers and keep up the good work. .. Greetings to you and your colleagues Sir!.
continuing from below - I mean I don't even want to go there man - why do you thin the CloD "community" is being plagued by angry posts? Do you think it is because people like to rant for no reason - I know I don't. I thought this thing will be a way better version of IL2 - new great FLIGHT SIM, not virtual WW2 stuff... It was marketed and sold as a flight sim, thats what I bought and thats what I want from it. If it tries to be an all around sim of everything it will most likely
А чего всё видео трясётся? :) Звук у 110-х прям психоделичный какой-то. А так - шикарно, уже на FPS даже смахивает, только рывковатое управление картину портит.
@TommyLaser but after the release of CloD I feel - I don't know hmm - betrayed would be the word I guess, I think that feeling is quite common within the community.. And I admit it just pisses me off, when I see what are these guys working on - its kinda like putting a cherry on a burnt carcass of something that was supposed to be a delicious cake.. I am still hoping they will see the light, otherwise we'll have to wait till 777 studios go ww2
???? And the purpose of having driveable vehicles is????? It's cool and all, but I still haven't bought CLoD due to the fact I'm still hearing negative comments more than positive comments. Many of the previous posters are just repeating what has been said for months now. Seriously, I'm not putting out nearly $50 for an incomplete sim....I've done that too many times already.
@knightflyte Oh and one more thing - I know there's also SP in this game - and that there's more people playing singlethan multi. But in that respectthis thing does even worse than in MP I think - thanks to the shitty AI (seriously it ain't any better than what was in original Il2)... wheres that 7 years of hard work?
and some more - suck big time in every respect - as it does at the moment. Thank you, again, no I dont see any expansiveness in adding playable vehicles what I see is "oh shit we cannot really fix it, so lets add some stupid things and maybe people will forget what it was supposed to be"...
As I suck dogfighting with planes, I will enjoy for sure to play as an anti-air gun to make up for my incompetence at killing them in the air! SEE YA BOYS WATCH OUT FOR MY AA GUNS YOU COWARDS!
@knightflyte Oleg isnt even a team member anymore. AI is a mess and radio comms are still not working. Now there are driveable ground vehicles. Nice, but I want a working flight sim, not a groundvehicle simulation. If you ask me this game is fucking dead. It's sad but true. I will never spend any money on an IL2-game.
