Hi there! I noticed a minor mistake in your comment. I guess you're putting a lot of effort into studying English, so I'll tell you what's wrong and why so that you won't happen to make the same mistake again! Since (Spesso tradotto con "Da.." ) is an expression that you use when you're talking about a point in time. It is usually paired with a past tense (tempo verbale) called "present perfect continous", which talks about an action that has been done continously in a given amount of time. In your sentence "I'm studying English since two years (ago)" there are two mistakes related to Since and the tense you used. I'm studying is a present continous, which talks about contemporary actions and about a programmed action in the future. I'm studying at the moment (Ora sto stidiando) I'm having dinner at 7 pm (Farò cena alle 19) I'm currently working as a manager (Attualmente sto lavorando come manager) In italian "Sto studiando da 2 anni" makes sense, but the direct English translation really doesn't! This is an action that has been done many times in the past 2 years, so we need to use the Present Perfect Continous. The second element which is wrong is that "Since", as I mentioned. You use since with adverbs of time which specify a point in time, not a period of time. Since May (Da Maggio) Since 2007 Since Monday "Two years ago" is not a proper point in time. You can't use it with since. In order to imply that you studied English in these past 2 years, you have to consider those 2 years as a period of time rather than a determined point in time. With periods of time, instead of Since you have to use For (Per). The correct version of that sentence is "I've been studying English FOR 2 years" Or even better "I've been studying English FOR the past 2 years" I hope I was helpful! :D

Ruben, this would be considered a mixed conditional. If you consider 'not being rich' as an eternal state and the consequence in the past (having friends), then it's fine. E.g. you are referring to your [past] time in university (when you weren't rich and you still aren't rich) ... Se fossi ricco, avrei avuto tanti amici

If i said to you a secret / If i told you a secret ..ma in questo caso, per me è meglio usare il verbo "TELL"

Penso si capisca anche così, ma la parola “quit” se non sbaglio viene più usata per indicare andar via ed uscire piuttosto che smettere.

@@alessandrogiannotti8187 No quit is fine here too ;) ... but Tommaso, the sentences above have completely different meanings. First, 'if I was' is ungrammatical but used a lot so it's fine... but the meanings are different ... I would stop smoking = now ... I would have quit smoking = in the past

That is the subjunctive ( congiuntivo) in English. Normalmente, la prima e terza persona singolare= 'was', ma nel congiuntivo diventano 'were' invece di 'was.'
