Todays video is about the Il Makiage foundation. I have been seeing adds for Il Makiage on Facebook and Instagram and I FINALLY got the courage to try it! So I decided to do a review for you all! I hope you enjoy! www.ilmakiage.com/
Thanks for the video! IL Makiage ads keep popping and I am always tempted to try it, but am afraid that it won't be what I need for my 60ish skin. Now I know it's not everything for everyone!
@lauriekaufman5095 Thank you for commenting! I was super excited to try it as well, and was very disappointed with how it turned out. I love the Primer though. lol
You didn't have foundation on at the beginning??? Wow beautiful skin........for the primer....it didn't fill in fine lines??... What did it do for pores?...thanks for making the video 😊
I just tried it and am sending back. 035 shade they chose for me was way too yellow even though I said I had a cool undertone. Way to drying and looked horrible. Totally broke apart on my chin where I've never had issues and clumped up around my nostrils. Looked very cakey on the rest of my face.
@martystevens2313 Thank you so much for commenting. Looking at the video, it looks pretty yellow on me as well. And yes, it clumped on me as well. So glad I returned it.
Yes I'm curious which foundation you use that doesn't settle in the fine lines I'm so glad I saw your video I have been thinking of trying it but something just kept telling me naw but will try the primer for sure thanks by the way your beautiful with and without makeup
@sarahmendez564 Thank you so much! I will say, if your going to try the primer, it doesn't hurt to try the foundation as well. It didn't work for me, but it might for you, and, if you don't like it, you can always send it back and they won't charge you. ❣
Hi, I tried Il Makiage and loved it. I noticed that you put a lot of foundation on your hand. It does say to use two pumps and it is builable. I never have to use more than two pumps. Maybe you chould try that. I also noticed it matched your skin tone great, but you were really quick to find it creasing on your forehead but I think that was because you put alot on. Personally I thought it was worth the money, and will continue to use IL Makiage, since I am no longer 20...I'm 59 and when I put too much foundation on it creases right away and all my "unmentionables" are seen lol. I figured you would appreciate real feedback
@hathorra9136 Thank you so much for your feed back dear. I do feel that I returned it to hastily! I should have tried it a couple of times before sending it back. I also agree with you that I used too much! I now use more primer and less foundation and I found that that works well and the foundation doesn't settle into my wrinkles. 💗 By the way, I love that you called them your "unmentionables", I laughed so hard when I read that. lol
@@CorrineMcCamon I was thinking the same thing that it seemed like you put a lot on. I am 50 and have noticed that the older I get, the less foundation I wear because of that very "settling in the cracks" factor! Although I have freckles and have always preferred a full coverage look, it just looks too cakey anymore. Even though you loved how the primer felt going on, I was surprised how quickly you said you were keeping it even though I thought it would be considered a failure since it didn't help blur the look of the foundation and keep it from settling to your liking. Aside from the way it feels, do you think it performs better than most other primers out there? It was interesting that you said you use more primer and less foundation and found success with that - I'm gonna try that and hopefully have the same luck!! Btw, great video and thank you for your honest review :)
Thank you Corrine, I really enjoyed your video. Glad you got the #35 (found out in comment below) because that was the one they recommended for me. I don't like foundation accentuating the wrinkles either!
@carlalevine1332 thank you for your comment, it made me laugh! lol I'm happy you enjoyed the video. I've just moved, and once I get settled, I will be creating more content for this channel. ❤
@heatherwordup I just purchased www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/make-up-for-ever-mini-hd-skin-hydra-glow-skincare-foundation-with-hyaluronic-acid-P510065?skuId=2738169 I am in love with this foundation. I also found that I am using more Primer and less foundation, and so it doesn't settle into my wrinkles.
I realy feel like you put to much foundation on. You dont have blemishes looks like your trying to work on your fine lines i would use more primer and less foundation. Maybe its just me but you look fine with out any of it
@swe2eat Thank you so much for your comment. I think you are right, I do feel that I am using too much. I'm not sure if it's because I was using a cheap sponge or not. I used to use the Beauty Blender and loved it, but recently had to throw it out and hadn't replaced it yet. I also might try using a foundation brush, but I feel that actually cakes the foundation on. Any suggestions?
@the1_grammy503 thank you for commenting. I was not happy with the foundation color, but I am wondering if it applied so thick because I was using a cheap makeup sponge. I might try it again using the Beauty Blender.
@@CorrineMcCamon thank you for responding! It’s interesting because I’ve never put foundation on with anything other than my fingers. I finally used a brush a few days ago and it applied like a dream. The only problem with ordering makeup online is, you almost always get the color wrong. That’s what scares me about ilmakiage and investing that much money into it for it to be the wrong color. I appreciate you taking time out to make this video and being honest!
@@the1_grammy503 I agree, it is hard when ordering online. My favorite is going to Sophora and they have so many makeup artist there to help you, and will swatch test to make sure the ma0ke0up matches your skin tone. I've been thinking about ordering some Sara Geller online though, and trying that one next.
