And to realise this was composed in 1982, almost 40 years back. We are blessed to be living at the same time as Illayaraja.

The bass part is almost a countermelody that is parallel to the guitar. Such a geniuss!

Literally had tears listening to it! How rich complex music knowledge we Indians have, especially Ilayaraja is the boss of Indian music industry no one can come closer to his compositions . What a legend!

I don't know how I landed up here but it is a real treasure!! I still could not wrap my mind around the fact that how the idea of coming up with all these individual notes for separate instruments and combining together to give us legendary songs like this came to this person - Isaignani Ilayaraja. Another beautiful thing in this video is that though musicians in this video are from different language, culture, country etc. but they could easily communicate with each other in one language called music.......

This is amazing guys! Huge Thanks and appreciation to Prasanna and team in breaking down and explaining the technicalities and intricateness in IR's compositions . As you say, the bass lines are complex and filled with counterpoints which are hallmarks of IR's scores. This session itself has taken 30 mins approx.. Imagine writing the full scores for all the instruments and record it with full orchestra and singers in under an hour. IR is beyond genius 🙏

This is really a beautiful session every musician would love to see.
