to all that have wondered I am still big in hay for the mushroom farms. I have cut back a lot because of rising cost of production and falling hay prices. I do not feel good about the way I and others that produce hay are being treated. but that's the nature of people that are not farmers. the feel like we are sub par to there superior education. and in some cases they are correct in thinking that way there are some farmers that will just out up with going broke so the company they deal with can get huge profits. I am the master of my own destiny I will move away from them and do what's better for me and my family. the arrogance of some of the people in the mushroom growing industry is amazing and I will not deal with turds that think we should just do what they want and get paid when they want to pay us and what they want to pay. I have negotiated good prices and then been docked for moisture that doesn't exist in the hay. been told my hay was tooo green and it looked like it was just baled in march! well I have had enough of that nonsense and I have killed a lot of hay and put in corn. this coming year I will be killing another 500-1000 acres of hay and putting in row crops. I will be planting hay crops in the future for good hay production and the mushroom farms will get what gets wet or is sub par for that market. anyway if your this farm watch the video to the end I work on the combine.
