Im welding my ball joints on the fiesta st

Im pretty much fed up of the knocking noise from my ball joints on my 2014 fiesta st 180. my only option is to take out the welder and zap them up. im using a clarke 135te with hobbyweld 5 mixed gas

Fiestas of all descriptions suffer from ball joints being loose in the wish bone. We always change wishbones as there not to expensivd because there such a popular item and you dont get customers back in a months time saying there knocking again. Anyway looking forward to seeing how they last, nice video.

Just did my wishbones with " free" drop links,both sides for £60 and a few hours of my time( which at 55 and Scrabbling around on a concrete outside drive isn't the nicest thing to do) But she had an advisory for the near side,so I figured I will do both and then a £25 alignment.

Just a point about the LSD I had a focus st for 4 years and I used to go round a medium sized round about on the way to work in the morning's and the front would run wide I have a mk8 fiesta at with the diff.. and can honestly say it will not run wide even if it's wet .. the back end comes round first!! All done safely lol no traffic at 5am 😊

Glad your having a good time Steve, I do like some of Cleetus's videos, but some of his videos are not for me. I prefer facts and real life stuff. Like you testing parts on a race track. That stuff is awesome!

My mountune exhaust leaks from that them 2 joints as well ...tried everything to seal it .....loosen clamp no blowing tighten clamp blowing ...only thing I got left to try is chemical metal

I have to the sim vid was good but was guilty of skimming to closer to the cleetus arena a fb page called mechanic bodge jobs had a pic of welded ball joints but they were poorly done and still had mig wire hanging off

Rather than weld the ball joints could you get a weld on ring made that is a snug fit to go around the ball joint and the weld this in place? Would give you full 360 deg coverage?

Unbelievable stupidity. You must has spent thousands on mods then you weld in your ball joints? Just do the right thing and buy a pair of wishbones.

How they have the audacity to make wishbones with the balljoint in and they are unchangeable without throwing the whole thing wishbone included in the bin, well that's beyond me. So dishonest to do that to us the customer. Ball joints wear and to change the whole wishbone makes it more expensive.
