I watched this video, I also watched other videos where reporters claimed how Ukrainians are close to the dragon's teeth. There are map analysis, but actually couldn't see anywhere a proof of this. And don't tell me that Ukrainians would have missed a chance to take a picture and brag.

I don't understand why the media has been stating that Ukraine's counteroffensive has been slow. Is it really surprising how long it has taken to get this far when Ukraine hasn't been given all the resources it needs or asked for to make the military gains it needs to take back their territory? Have we been so drunk on peace that we do not understand how difficult it is to break through a fortified position? Anyone with any modicum of military knowledge knows that you NEED air support to make advances otherwise you're basically banging your head against a brick wall hoping to break through. The fact that Ukraine has made such massive gains with all the defense they have to go through is a testament to the strength of their military despite how few supplies they have been given.

Ukraine hyped up the counter offensive for 6 months. The expectations are in line with what they promised. As for what they are actually accomplishing or more accurately failing to accomplish...... There inability to take ground has more to do with poor command decisions then it does with what we have or have not supplied them. FYI they have used all of their strategic reserves. At best they make it through the first main defensive belt. They won't make it much further. They don't have follow up forces to exploit a breakthrough. The counter offensive is a failure.
Yup it only took them 4 months of bloody grinding to reach the 1st line of defense. Not to mention to pull in the 10th Army Corps as their last strategic reserve. And FYI, the 1st line was meant to be broken. Anyone saying that Russian defence-in-depth tactic only consisting of only one main defence line is a western mainstream media braindead

True or not, the fact that Ukraine claims the attack was launched from inside Russia's territory is genius. Forces the Russian military to redeploy their defenses and possibly weaken the defense in other areas.

Was watching a "military blogger" YT channel the other day, and he pointed out (with the use of satellite photos) that the hardest fighting is in the tree lines AROUND or in front of the "fortified defenses" (trenches, dragon's teeth, etc) way more than actually in the defenses...and there are way more trees than trenches. Also, all the ground is mined to the max. It really was an eye-opener for why the offensive is going way slower than we all hoped/expected.

Actually, there is still a slight chance they might pierce this year and take Tokmak, but even if they didn't manage to, it has become pretty clear that this war will last most probably one or two more years at most before Crimea's supply lines are cut and Russia will be forced to negotiate and end on ukrainian terms (which is basically -> Russia go home). Tokmak falling would just increase the probability that it would be achieved in 2024 instead of 2025.

@@joanesp100 The ukrainians found a neat trick. Their western made thermal sights can see the mines in the ground because they heat up and release heat just after the sun goes down. Making them much easier to destroy. Some units are using older rifles and hitting them from a distance. Others are using RF toy trucks to drop off hand grenades on top of the tank mines to blow them up. What we need is automated anti mine land drones.

I am not a military person but a lover of American military men and women. As an observer and an analyst i belief the only way Putin can capitulate and rethink his dictatorial and evil tendencies in Ukraine is to see his own country and citizens dying too. As long as the Ukrainians are still over methodical and only hitting military bases in Russia without casualties Putin is safe . Putin doesn't really care about his military since they are a threat to his pervasive tyrannical govt so decimating them is of no use to him. The only group Putin is afraid of is the people. Now they are docile and oblivious of what is going until they start dying too. The Ukrainians should intensify attack in Moscow and anywhere else in Russia to balance the terror. No war is won by only defending territories you also need to attack territories to win or make a point.
