The band is from Las Vegas with members Daniel Reynolds "Dan" (front man, drums, piano, lead vocal), Daniel Wayne Sermon "Wayne" (lead guitar, piano, vocals), Ben McKee (bass, vocals), Daniel Platzman "Platz" (drums, various instruments, vocals), and friend Elliot (keyboards, guitar, vocals). Too many Daniels so they go by the names in quotes. They have won three American Music Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, one Grammy Award, one MTV Video Music Award, one World Music Award among others. Their 2017 album Evolve was the best selling rock album of the year, with Believer and Thunder holding the #1 and #2 spots for top rock singles. Believer has over 2 billion hits on RU-vid. They were the first band to have three singles last for at least a year on Billboard's Top 100. They consider their music their own genre and continue to evolve, but have been classed by many as pop rock, electropop, pop, indie pop, indie rock, arena rock, and alternative rock. Although music critics have little positive to say about the band's music, you can't discount the enormous favorable reactions of their fans. Despite the critics, Imagine Dragons' music sells! Dan Reynolds writes their lyrics and music and then collaborates with the other members to bring songs to a consensus before recording any. Dan says that he writes almost every day. When Rick Ruben, producer of their latest album, Mercury Act 1 and 2, asked Dan to submit some songs for him to review, Dan sent about 100 selections. Rick was expecting maybe 10. Many of Dan's lyrics reflect his mental state at the time of creation. He suffers from depression and two autoimmune diseases. He claims to be an introvert except when he's on stage. My wife and I attended a recent concert in The Woodlands, Texas, and were thrilled with the presentation. Imagine Dragons "rocked". Best concert I've ever attended.
